PLEASE NOTE: I am currently only working with clients online via Zoom or Skype.
How Can I Help You?
I can help you to break free from your fears, phobias, negative thinking, anxiety and panic attacks.
In fact, most problems that stem from your thoughts and the way that you think can be helped with Cognitive Hypnotherapy.
I’ve been a full-time Hypnotherapist since 2009 and in the past I’ve suffered from anxiety and panic attacks myself – so I know that Cognitive Hypnotherapy really works.
You are an individual, and your problem is unique to you. So I don’t work from set treatment plans or scripts. I will spend time really listening to the way you experience your problem, plus your goals. I will then design a unique treatment plan and write powerful suggestion patterns especially for you.
Free Initial Consultation
I always start with an initial free consultation. This allows you to find out more about the way that I work, and ask any questions you may have. We can then agree if my approach is right for you.
To book your free initial phone consultation send me an email or call / text me on 07895 290528. If you prefer you can book this directly in my diary via this link:
This consultation gives you a chance to explain a bit about your problem and to ask any questions you may have. I can tell you about the way I work and then together we can agree if my approach is right for you.
Training, qualifications & experience
I qualified as a Cognitive Hypnotherapist and NLP Master Practitioner in 2009 at the Quest Institute with Trevor Silvester the creator of Cognitive Hypnotherapy.
Since qualifying I have trained extensively in EFT (Emotional Freedom Technique), Working with Depression, EMI Plus (Eye Movement Integration – which is great for working with trauma and PTSD), and CBT Coaching.
In 2019 I wrote 'No Tigers No Lions - A Practical Guide to Mastering Your Anxiety' which is available on Amazon. This is a step by step guide that you can use on it's own or alongside your work with a therapist to conquer those old thoughts, feelings and fears.
I am also a qualified Hypnotherapy Supervisor supporting other hypnotherapists to build safe and ethical practices.
Professional Membership and Your Safety
I am an Accredited Member of the NCH (National Council for Hypnotherapy).
As such I am bound by their Code of Ethics which includes your safety, confidentiality and a commitment to ongoing training – so you can always be sure that I am using the safest and most up to date techniques in our work together.
Registered / Accredited
Being registered/accredited with a professional body means an individual must have achieved a substantial level of training and experience approved by their member organisation.
National Council for Hypnotherapy
The National Council for Hypnotherapy holds one of the largest registers of independent Hypnotherapists in the United Kingdom and strives to maintain the highest standards among its members.
There is an agreed Code of Conduct, an established Complaints & Disciplinary Procedure and all members are obliged to maintain comprehensive Public Liability & Professional Indemnity Insurance, maintain regular CPD (continuing professional development) hours, and attend Supervision when needed.
Complementary and Natural Healthcare Council
The CNHC encompasses many types of alternative therapy, including hypnotherapy.
In order to be admitted to the register a practitioner must have studied to the National Occupational Standards for that profession/discipline, or have reached the equivalent of the National Occupational Standards through other relevant training or at least three years of experience and been assessed by their peers.
A practitioner must also have professional insurance and agree to abide by the CNHC Code of Conduct, Performance and Ethics.
Accredited register membership
Accredited Register Scheme
The Accredited Register Scheme was set up in 2013 by the Department of Health (DoH) as a way to recognise organisations that hold voluntary registers which meet certain standards. These standards are set by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA).
This therapist has indicated that they belong to an Accredited Register.
Areas of hypnotherapy I deal with
Information about health conditions (*)
Hypnotherapy can enhance the well-being of individuals diagnosed with serious medical conditions, but should not take the place of medical treatment and advice. If you have been diagnosed with - or suspect you may have - any of these conditions, please speak to your doctor before starting hypnotherapy.
Other areas of hypnotherapy I deal with
Intuitive Eating and mindfulness.
You can find out more about me and cognitive hypnotherapy, and read testimonials from previous clients at my website www.brendacox.co.uk
Please note that since Covid restrictions were introduced I have moved my practice online and now work with clients via Zoom, Skype or phone.
