About me
"In just two sessions with Neville I have seen incredible results. I was sceptical at first, but his work is nothing short of magical." Google Review
If you’re reading this, something hasn’t shifted, despite your efforts.
You may feel stuck, unsettled, frustrated, flat, or overwhelmed. Perhaps there is a clear issue, or maybe it’s just a persistent sense that something isn’t working the way it used to and is hard to put into words.
That’s where I work.
I’m Neville Mundy, practising as NCM Hypnotherapy, with over 30 years’ clinical experience across NHS and private settings. My hypnotherapy training began within the NHS at the Queen Elizabeth Hospital, where it was integrated alongside conventional medical care. That foundation continues to inform my approach- careful, ethical, grounded, and focused on meaningful change.
People come to me when they feel caught in patterns they understand logically but can’t seem to alter. My approach is calm, collaborative, and entirely individual to you:
- No scripts or gimmicks.
- No long, open-ended courses designed to keep you coming back.
- A strictly session-by-session basis so you always remain in control.
Because this solution-focused approach is highly efficient, the average course of treatment is just two to three sessions. For smoking and vaping cessation, it takes only a single session to break the habit.

Training, qualifications & experience
I bring over 30 years of professional experience across NHS settings and private practice, alongside involvement in the development of national training standards for hypnotherapy.
My original training took place within a clinical NHS environment at the Queen Elizabeth Hospital, where hypnotherapy was integrated alongside conventional medical care. This grounding established a strong emphasis on ethical practice, professional standards and working appropriately within wider healthcare systems.
In the late 1990s, I was a member of the committee and steering group responsible for developing the original National Vocational Qualifications (NVQs) in hypnotherapy. These later informed the National Occupational Standards introduced in 2002, which continue to underpin much hypnotherapy training in the UK. Being involved at this level gave me a clear and lasting understanding of competence-based practice, professional boundaries and client safety.
I hold a Diploma in Ericksonian Hypnosis, Psychotherapy and NLP (with distinction). Over the years, I have continued to develop my work through ongoing professional development, supervision and reflective practice.
I am a member of the Federation of Holistic Therapists and work in line with their professional and ethical guidelines.

Areas of hypnotherapy I deal with
info Information about health conditions (*)
Hypnotherapy can enhance the well-being of individuals diagnosed with serious medical conditions, but should not take the place of medical treatment and advice. If you have been diagnosed with - or suspect you may have - any of these conditions, please speak to your doctor before starting hypnotherapy.
Other areas of hypnotherapy I deal with
Many of the people who contact me have already tried traditional talking therapies.
They understand their history. They know the 'why'. And yet the pattern continues.
That’s because insight alone doesn’t always create change.
Hypnotherapy allows us to work directly with the deeper processes that maintain automatic emotional and behavioural patterns. When we work at that level, change can often happen more quickly than people expect.
Not everyone arrives with a neat diagnosis.
More often, it’s:
- A pattern that won’t shift
- An emotional reaction that feels stronger than it should
- A behaviour that makes sense logically, yet keeps repeating
- A sense of feeling stuck despite knowing better
- Difficulties that haven’t responded to previous therapy
In many of these cases, progress begins when we stop fighting the symptom and start working with the mind differently.
Change does not have to be dramatic to be meaningful. When the underlying pattern shifts, change can happen steadily, naturally and in a way that lasts.
Some clients come with a clear goal. Others simply know they cannot continue as they are.
Either way, change is possible.
If what you’re experiencing doesn’t fit neatly into a category, that isn’t a barrier. It’s simply the starting point.
"Absolutely recommend Neville and his fantastic work!
Our 12 year old was suffering from night terrors most nights. We are now two months on from the appointment and she has been sleeping all night, every night since! The terrors have completely stopped.
She also had a session regarding school anxiety and she is feeling much more confident in general, now even putting her hand up to answer questions in lessons - something that she would never even think of previously. We are so pleased we found Neville! Such a genuine, lovely guy. The sessions are held in a beautiful location, a very relaxed, calm atmosphere throughout. Wouldn’t hesitate to recommend! Thank you Neville! " Google review.

"Since having a couple of sessions with Neville I find my fear of needles is much improved, which is great considering that I am facing major surgery now. Without his help I would have not been able to face going through investigation stages and hospital appointments where catheters had to be inserted into veins. Neville is friendly and understanding and has helped me massively, and I am truly thankful for the help he has provided." Google review.

Further information
Finding the right therapist can make all the difference.
That’s why I offer a free, no-obligation telephone conversation. You can talk briefly about what’s been happening, ask any questions, and get a clear sense of whether my approach feels right for you, before committing to a session.
Hypnotherapy is a collaborative process. You remain aware and in control throughout. Sessions are paced carefully and respectfully and there is never any pressure to discuss anything you’re not ready to explore.
When working with children and teenagers, sessions are thoughtfully adapted to their age and stage of development. Parental involvement is discussed openly and agreed together. I also work with autistic adults and children, adjusting sessions to individual communication styles, sensory needs and ways of processing experience.
If you are receiving medical or psychological care, hypnotherapy can often work alongside this appropriately. I practise within clear professional and ethical guidelines and will always say if another approach would be more suitable.
My priority is simple- meaningful, responsible change that genuinely supports your wellbeing.
"I can’t thank Neville enough for the transformation I’ve experienced.
I decided to consult Neville after realising that an issue I was experiencing which was severely limiting my life was almost certainly psychological.
Neville has a naturally soothing presence and explained the process clearly. The sessions are held in a warm, relaxing, and non-judgmental space.
After three sessions I found the problems I was having were resolved and I am now able to enjoy things unencumbered by my previous difficulties.
Neville is professional, empathetic, and truly skilled. I highly recommend his services." Google review.
