About me

In my experience, people often just want to know one thing, 'Can you help me?' and in the vast majority of cases, the answer is yes!

I offer confidential hypnotherapy, coaching counselling sessions in a lovely, quiet office just 10 minutes from St Ives, Cambs.  Qualifying as a therapist in 2000, I have 20+ years experience in working with clients.

I have worked with a variety issues such as; confidence, self esteem, habits, fears, phobias etc, as well as depression, relationship issues, anxiety, weight, and historical childhood issues.

What is Hypnosis?

Hypnosis is simply a state of being. Or more correctly, a relaxed state of being. Pretty much everyone has been in a state of hypnosis at some point in their lives, and for the majority of people it is actually a regular occurrence, it is just that people don't realise this. Being in a state of hypnosis is when you are relaxed and focused on one particular thing - watching tv, reading a book, running, gardening, driving etc. All of these things cause you to relax (assuming you have chosen to do them because you enjoy it), and hypnosis is simply a deepened state of relaxation.

Hypnosis on its own doesn't really do more than allow you to feel and be relaxed, but when the therapy side comes in to play, hypnotherapy, that is when real life changes can happen. It can help you work out what you really want from your life and what is perhaps stopping you from achieving it.

I also offer counselling and integrative therapy.  Please feel free to get in touch for further details, my website and telephone number can be found at the top of my profile or you can use the 'email me' button.

Member organisations

Complementary and Natural Healthcare Council (CNHC)

The CNHC encompasses many types of alternative therapy, including hypnotherapy.

In order to be admitted to the register a practitioner must have studied to the National Occupational Standards for that profession/discipline, or have reached the equivalent of the National Occupational Standards through other relevant training or at least three years of experience and been assessed by their peers.

A practitioner must also have professional insurance and agree to abide by the CNHC Code of Conduct, Performance and Ethics.

The General Hypnotherapy Register (GHR)

Hypnotherapists may become members of the General Hypnotherapy Register if they satisfy certain criteria with regard to both training and ongoing requirements as determined from time to time by the General Hypnotherapy Standards Council (GHSC).

Members are either registered at Practitioner status (which confirms that the GHR acknowledges their qualification to practice), or Affiliate status. Although Affiliate level registrants will have completed a sufficient number of training hours to equip them to commence seeing clients on a limited basis, the GHR does not acknowledge them to have yet been trained to full practitioner level.

All GHR Registered Practitioners are required to accept the published Code of Ethics and Complaints & Disciplinary Procedure.

Areas of hypnotherapy I deal with

Information about health conditions (*)

Hypnotherapy can enhance the well-being of individuals diagnosed with serious medical conditions, but should not take the place of medical treatment and advice. If you have been diagnosed with - or suspect you may have - any of these conditions, please speak to your doctor before starting hypnotherapy.

Other areas of hypnotherapy I deal with

I have a growing coaching business, where I offer one to one appointments and coaching packages.  I work with my clients both face to face and online, and have clients across the globe.

For those of you who find counselling or even hypnotherapy a little passive and who really want to push their lives forward proactively, then it is worth investing your time and money in coaching.

I can’t recommend Lifetherapy enough! Karen is professional but also caring and genuine. I felt at complete ease and really feel that the therapy I received has made such a positive impact on my life! Highly recommend - Emmy.

Karen was very accommodating in scheduling sessions in the evening around my hours of work. She put me at ease with her professional and easy going manner and I had confidence that her experience in Hypnotherapy would help me achieve positive results. I am satisfied that the treatment has had a positive effect upon my eating habits and I now feel more in control of my diet and cravings which is hopefully a long term lifestyle change. Thank you Karen. - Kerry
