About me
Specialist in Anxiety, Addiction & the Hidden Fear of Joy (Cherophobia)
I’m Marie, a clinical hypnotherapist offering bespoke, transformational support for individuals navigating anxiety, addiction, and deeper emotional blocks that often remain unseen... but profoundly felt.
Many of the people I work with describe feeling like they should be able to handle things better. They've often tried various methods to feel more balanced or in control, but find themselves circling the same issues.... like anxiety, addictive habits, or a quiet resistance to feeling truly happy.
One such pattern I like to work with is cherophobia; a subtle yet powerful fear of joy or expansion. For some, this shows up as a tendency to self-sabotage just as things begin to improve. For others, it’s a baseline feeling of unease whenever life becomes too calm or fulfilling.
Whether you're seeking relief from emotional overwhelm, ready to heal a long-standing addiction, or wanting to understand why joy feels unsafe, our work together is about lasting resolution, not surface-level fixes.
Clients often come to me when:
- Anxiety is interfering with daily life, relationships, or sleep
- Addictive behaviours are being used to manage stress, numbness, or emotional pain
- They feel stuck between who they’ve been and who they want to become
- Life feels flat, disconnected, or lacking in real joy, even when everything “should” feel fine.
I work with both men and women, offering a personalised and respectful process rooted in clinical hypnotherapy and subconscious emotional integration. What we do together is tailored to you, not a one size fits all method.
If you’re ready for real change and want to feel genuinely different on the inside - not just manage symptoms - I invite you to get in touch.

info Information about health conditions (*)
Hypnotherapy can enhance the well-being of individuals diagnosed with serious medical conditions, but should not take the place of medical treatment and advice. If you have been diagnosed with - or suspect you may have - any of these conditions, please speak to your doctor before starting hypnotherapy.
Other areas of hypnotherapy I deal with
Cherophobia is also something I specialise in. The fear of being happy or the fear of having success can have a profound effect on life choices and outcomes and responds particularly well to hypnotherapy.
