About me

My name is Dawn O'Donoghue and I have Consulting Rooms in the Ellesmere Centre of Psychotherapy in Hull.  The Centre is easy to find, has toilet facilities and a lift for those who may need assistance. My rooms are  both calm and welcoming.

I am a fully qualified Cognative Hypnotherapist/Psychotherapist with an awareness of medical issues and Neuroscience.  I have qualifications in Art therapy which I use both individually and on a group basis. I am also a Life Coach, Professional Relaxation Therapist and Advanced Stress Consultant.  I also teach my clients  Emotional Freedom Technique (aka tapping).   I am also a sleep consultant and run and independent Sleep Clinic.  I offer Weight Management, Pain Management, deep relaxation sessions and stress relief.  I specialise in visualisation which is especially useful for those about to take exams.

I also offer sessions in Smoking Cessation, Weight control, Inner Child, Meditation, Depression and Anxiety. I use Jacobson's Deep Relaxation techniques and work with people who want to change their life...whether it be to remove bad habits,  PTSD, exam and performance boosting, or much more. 

I have many clients suffering from Anxiety, panic attacks and also eating disorders such as ARFID.

I have used Time Line Therapy, Past Life Regression and Control Room techniques to help people deal with issues arising from the past. I currently run a Sleep Clinic for those people suffering from sleep Aponea, sleep walking, restlessness and night terrors.

As a teacher for nearly thirty years, I know the pressures of the workplace. I support those suffering from employment bullying, presentation difficulties and those experiencing high levels of stress.

I have just won a Quality Business Award and have a partnership with local golf clubs. 

Training, qualifications & experience

B.Ed (Hons) with 30 years experience working with children and adults in education especially using visualisation, behaviour and anger management techniques. I have also worked within the NHS and been a member of Law Enforcement.

Hypnotherapy and Psychotherapy to GHSC standard including Hypnoslimmer, Smoking Cessation, Inner Child, Past Life Regression, Anxiety and Stress relief, Weight Control, Pain Management.  As a Professional Relaxation Therapist, I also offer Mandala training and meditation alongside alternative health therapies e.g. aromatherapy, botanicals and use my knowledge of the human body to help reduce pain.

I am registered with Anxiety UK as an Anxiety Consultant, I am also a Sleep Consultant and run an independent Sleep Clinic.  I am a Jacobson's Deep Relaxation Professional and am trained in the use of EFT and EMDR.

I am a member of CNHC, GHSC, GHR, CHP - I adhere to their code of ethics and am a registered practitioner.

The CNHC encompasses many types of alternative therapy, including hypnotherapy.

In order to be admitted to the register a practitioner must have studied to the National Occupational Standards for that profession/discipline, or have reached the equivalent of the National Occupational Standards through other relevant training or at least three years of experience and been assessed by their peers.

A practitioner must also have professional insurance and agree to abide by the CNHC Code of Conduct, Performance and Ethics.

I am able to discuss your issues via the phone or zoom. This is free. Initial 30 minutes consultation free for first session

£60 +  per hour. I accept cash or card.  

I recommend purchasing three sessions initially. For clients wishing to buy long term contracts or gift vouchers, please contact me to discuss your needs. 

I offer 10% discount for holders of a Carer's Card or proof of school/college/education.
