A highly skilled and qualified clinical hypnotherapist based in Plymouth. 

With a Masters Degree in Pharmacy from the University of Portsmouth and spending almost a decade as a clinical pharmacist in both hospital and community settings, Abbey brings a wealth of medical knowledge to her hypnotherapy practice.

Scott Lester Woods HPD, DSFH, CNHC Reg - Clinical Hypnotherapist & Founder

He has studied under some of the world’s most respected hypnotherapists and has also received extensive training in other therapeutic modalities, including cognitive-behavioural therapy (CBT), neuro-linguistic programming (NLP), and eye movement desensitization and reprocessing (EMDR).

In his pursuit of knowledge, Scott has travelled extensively and spent time with experts in various fields. For example, he learned about the mental health benefits of breathwork and cold exposure from Wim Hof, also known as the Iceman. He also spent two years living in a Buddhist temple to learn mindfulness. and understanding of meditation and mindfulness.

Sarah holds a Hypnotherapy Practitioner Diploma, demonstrating her commitment to the highest standards of hypnotherapy practice. She is registered with both the Complementary and Natural Healthcare Council (CNHC) and the British Association for Counselling and Psychotherapy (BACP), showcasing her dedication to ethical and professional conduct in her work.

Prior to her focus on hypnotherapy, Sarah worked as a skilled counsellor, having earned a Diploma in Therapeutic Counselling Level 4 in October 2020 and a Level 3 Certificate in Counselling Studies in August 2018. Her experience in counselling laid a strong foundation for her transition to hypnotherapy, where she discovered the incredible speed and effectiveness of transformations possible through this approach.

CNHC
Complementary and Natural Healthcare Council (CNHC)

The CNHC encompasses many types of alternative therapy, including hypnotherapy.

In order to be admitted to the register a practitioner must have studied to the National Occupational Standards for that profession/discipline, or have reached the equivalent of the National Occupational Standards through other relevant training or at least three years of experience and been assessed by their peers.

A practitioner must also have professional insurance and agree to abide by the CNHC Code of Conduct, Performance and Ethics.

GHR
The General Hypnotherapy Register (GHR)

Hypnotherapists may become members of the General Hypnotherapy Register if they satisfy certain criteria with regard to both training and ongoing requirements as determined from time to time by the General Hypnotherapy Standards Council (GHSC).

Members are either registered at Practitioner status (which confirms that the GHR acknowledges their qualification to practice), or Affiliate status. Although Affiliate level registrants will have completed a sufficient number of training hours to equip them to commence seeing clients on a limited basis, the GHR does not acknowledge them to have yet been trained to full practitioner level.

All GHR Registered Practitioners are required to accept the published Code of Ethics and Complaints & Disciplinary Procedure.
