Hello, I'm a fully qualified, registered Clinical Hypnotherapist with an enhanced DBS certificate. I work online and face to face at my home practice. More details about me below, including a video about how hypnotherapy works and a little guided relaxation to see me in action!
ABOUT YOU - how can I help?
Are you a woman who has been feeling extremely anxious or fearful lately? Is this severely impacting your well-being, confidence and ability to live your life? You may be feeling trapped, or misunderstood by your loved ones. Your relationships/career might be suffering as a result. If this sounds familiar, you may be nodding your head furiously! I have some good news - your anxiety or other issues can be managed or even overcome once you gain a deeper understanding into how your brain works (and why it appears to be sabotaging your happiness) and I can help you do this.
I have helped many people just like you, who felt they were beyond help. I work with chronic anxiety, menopause/hormonal symptoms, phobias (including NEEDLE PHOBIA), OCD, poor sleep and low self-esteem. Together, we can work to focus on your goals to become the successful happy person you deserve to be - so that you no longer feel trapped by your fears and negative expectations.
Because my focus is on helping you to to move forward rather than focus on your symptoms and your problems, you could make change happen more quickly. My clients find that hypnotherapy is both relaxing and very empowering. I will help you to gain a better insight into how your mind works, and how subconscious processes in the brain can be accessed and changed for your benefit. I can help you to gain control over your "fight or flight" system which is often like an oversensitive car alarm in people experiencing anxiety!
Please contact me by calling 0773 432 8834 or email email@example.com. I will get back to you as soon as I can if you leave a message. You can also visit my website to find out more about my service, www.sandrawilsonclinicalhypnotherapy.org
I am committed to offering a high quality service to my clients in a safe and confidential space. I practice at home in Brislington, Bristol, and online for those who cannot travel easily. I also run an online support group aimed at women struggling with chronic anxiety.
Training, qualifications & experience
I hold a 1st Degree and a Post-Graduate Degree from Bristol University in addition to my Diploma in Solution-Focused Hypnotherapy (DSFH) and a Hypnotherapy Practitioner's Diploma (HPD). This is benchmarked at Level 4 by OFQUAL. I am a member of the Association for Solution-Focused Hypnotherapy (AfSFH) and the National Hypnotherapy Council (NCH). I am also a member of the Complementary and Natural Healthcare Council (CNHC), which is a professional register approved by the Government-endorsed Professional Standards Authority. I abide by the codes of these membership bodies, and undertake regular supervision and continual professional development.
I have recently completed post-graduate CPD's (continuous professional development training) in working with children, and Obsessive Compulsive Disorder (OCD) and Mindfulness. I hold an enhanced DBS certificate which assures you of my ability to work with vulnerable adults and children.
My background is in advice and management, and I have also recently spent a year working as a volunteer on a helpline that supports women who self-injure. I came to hypnotherapy after experiencing and overcoming particularly distressing bouts of insomnia: I received hypnotherapy and subsequently discovered the power of my own mind. I changed my unhelpful thinking patterns around sleep, learned to relax properly, improved some bad habits and started sleeping better. I find the human brain a constant source of amazement - we are capable of so much more than we think we are!
Complementary and Natural Healthcare Council (CNHC)
The CNHC encompasses many types of alternative therapy, including hypnotherapy.
In order to be admitted to the register a practitioner must have studied to the National Occupational Standards for that profession/discipline, or have reached the equivalent of the National Occupational Standards through other relevant training or at least three years of experience and been assessed by their peers.
A practitioner must also have professional insurance and agree to abide by the CNHC Code of Conduct, Performance and Ethics.
National Council for Hypnotherapy (NCH)
The National Council for Hypnotherapy holds one of the largest registers of independent Hypnotherapists in the United Kingdom and strives to maintain the highest standards among its members.
There is an agreed Code of Conduct, an established Complaints & Disciplinary Procedure and all members are obliged to maintain comprehensive Public Liability & Professional Indemnity Insurance, maintain regular CPD (continuing professional development) hours, and attend Supervision when needed.
Association for Solution Focused Hypnotherapy (AfSFH)
The Association for Solution Focused Hypnotherapy (AfSFH) was set up to provide information about a modern form of Hypnotherapy and its associated benefits to members of the public. The main aim of the AfSFH is to spread awareness of the benefits of Solution Focused Hypnotherapy. Its secondary aim is to support Hypnotherapists in their businesses by encouraging good practice and self-care.
Accredited register membership
Accredited Register Scheme
The Accredited Register Scheme was set up in 2013 by the Department of Health (DoH) as a way to recognise organisations that hold voluntary registers which meet certain standards. These standards are set by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA).

Areas of hypnotherapy I deal with
Information about health conditions (*)
Hypnotherapy can enhance the well-being of individuals diagnosed with serious medical conditions, but should not take the place of medical treatment and advice. If you have been diagnosed with - or suspect you may have - any of these conditions, please speak to your doctor before starting hypnotherapy.
Other areas of hypnotherapy I deal with
£80.00 per session
Free initial telephone session
I charge £80 for a single 1-off session for both face to face and online appointments. I offer packages of 3 or more paid upfront which cost £70 per session and include personalised recordings. Booking a package is a more cost effective way of working with me, and is a wise investment which can help you make beneficial and long-lasting changes.
Some of my clients claim back the cost from their employers or from a private health insurance scheme. Do check to see if you can do this, and if so I am happy to provide you with a letter.
I also offer the opportunity to spread the cost of a longer package over a number of months to make it more affordable to you.
When I work
I am available Mondays, Fridays and Saturdays plus some evenings. Just get in touch to find out more, I can be flexible to suit your needs - especially online.
