About me

Are you a woman entering peri/menopause and is this transition causing you anxiety?  Is it severely impacting on your well-being, confidence and self-esteem?  Are you finding it hard to feel understood and are your relationships suffering as a result?  You may have a negative perception of yourself and what you are capable of - it is a common problem that many women can overcome with a little patience and commitment.

I have helped many women just like you with menopause-related conditions such as anxiety, mood swings, depression, insomnia, weight management, relationship problems, and low self-esteem.  I am particularly interested in helping you to create a positive vision of who you are so that you can feel more positive about the future.  Together, we can work to focus on your goals and be the successful happy person you deserve to be.

Because my focus is on helping you to to move forward rather than focus on your symptoms and your problems, you could make change happen more quickly.  My clients find that hypnotherapy is both relaxing and very empowering.  I will help you to gain a better insight into how your mind works, and how subconscious processes in the brain can be accessed and changed for your benefit. I can help you to gain control over your "fight or flight" system which is often like an oversensitive car alarm in women experiencing hormonal fluctuations. There has also been recent research carried out which demonstrates the power of clinical hypnotherapy on the severity of hot flushes!  My own personal experiences in this area have enabled me to understand so much of what you are going through and this puts me in an ideal position to help you.

Please drop me an email if you want to know more, or visit my website,

I am committed to offering a high quality service to my clients in a safe and confidential space. I practice at home in Brislington, Bristol, and at my clinic in Montpelier on Tuesday evenings. I also offer an online one-to-one service for those who cannot travel easily, and an online group relaxation aimed at women going through the menopause.

Training, qualifications & experience

I hold a 1st Degree and a Post-Graduate Degree from Bristol University in addition to my Diploma in Solution-Focused Hypnotherapy (DSFH) and a Hypnotherapy Practitioner's  Diploma (HPD). This is benchmarked at Level 4 by OFQUAL. I am a member of the Association for Solution-Focused Hypnotherapy (AfSFH) and the National Hypnotherapy Council (NCH). I have membership of CNCH pending, which is a professional register approved by the Professional Standards Authority. I abide by the codes of these membership bodies, and undertake regular supervision and continual professional development.

I have recently completed additional CPD's (continuous professional development training) in working with children, and OCD.

My background is in advice and management, and I have also recently spent a year working as a volunteer on a helpline that supports women who self-injure. I came to hypnotherapy after experiencing and overcoming particularly distressing bouts of insomnia: I received hypnotherapy and subsequently discovered the power of my own mind. I changed my unhelpful thinking patterns around sleep, learned to relax properly, improved some bad habits and started sleeping better. I find the human brain a constant source of amazement - we are capable of so much more than we think we are!

You can contact the hypnotherapist to discuss the options available.

Under the Equality Act 2010 service providers have a duty to make reasonable adjustments to ensure that individuals with disabilities can access their service. You can read more about reasonable adjustments to help you to access services on the CAB website.
