About me

Hello, I'm a fully qualified, registered Clinical Hypnotherapist with an enhanced DBS certificate.  I work online and face to face at my home practice.  More details about me below, including a video about how hypnotherapy works and a little guided relaxation to see me in action!

ABOUT YOU - how can I help?

Are you a woman who has been feeling extremely anxious or fearful lately?  Has your sex life taken a nosedive? Is this severely impacting your relationship, well-being, confidence and ability to feel joy in life?  You may be feeling trapped, or taken for granted by your loved ones.  Peri/menopause can be a real challenge and your relationships/sex life/career might be suffering as a result.  If this sounds familiar, you may be nodding your head furiously!  I have some good news - these problems can be managed or even overcome with the right help at the right time.

I have helped many people just like you, who felt they were beyond help.  I work with chronic anxiety, menopause symptoms, body confidence, sex problems and low self-esteem.  Together, we can work to focus on your goals to become the fulfilled happy person you deserve to be (and perhaps once were) - so that you no longer feel trapped in a life that just feels so desperately unhappy.

Because my focus is on helping you to to move forward rather than focus on your symptoms and your problems, you could make change happen more quickly.  My clients find that hypnotherapy is both relaxing and very empowering.  I will help you to gain a better insight into what might be underlying your symptoms (our minds can play tricks on us!), and change your beliefs if these just need a bit of an upgrade.  I AM NOT GOOD ENOUGH seems to run like the print in a stick of Rock in many of my clients - I can help you change this.

Please contact me by calling 0773 432 8834 or email sewhypnotherapy@gmail.com.  I will get back to you as soon as I can if you leave a message.  You can also visit my website to find out more about my service, www.sandrawilsonclinicalhypnotherapy.org

I am committed to offering a high quality service to my clients in a safe and confidential space. I practice at home in Brislington, Bristol, and online for those who cannot travel easily.

Training, qualifications & experience

I hold a 1st Degree and a Post-Graduate Degree from Bristol University in addition to my Diploma in Solution-Focused Hypnotherapy (DSFH) and a Hypnotherapy Practitioner's  Diploma (HPD). This is benchmarked at Level 4 by OFQUAL. I am a member of the Association for Solution-Focused Hypnotherapy (AfSFH) and the National Hypnotherapy Council (NCH). I am also a member of the Complementary and Natural Healthcare Council (CNHC), which is a professional register approved by the Government-endorsed Professional Standards Authority. I abide by the codes of these membership bodies, and undertake regular supervision and continual professional development.

I have recently completed post-graduate CPD's (continuous professional development training) in ADHD, the Menopause, Hypnotherapy for children, Obsessive Compulsive Disorder (OCD) and Mindfulness.  I hold an enhanced DBS certificate which assures you of my ability to work with vulnerable adults and children.

My background is in advice and management, and I have also recently spent a year working as a volunteer on a helpline that supports women who self-injure. I came to hypnotherapy after experiencing and overcoming particularly distressing bouts of insomnia: I received hypnotherapy and subsequently discovered the power of my own mind. I changed my unhelpful thinking patterns around sleep, learned to relax properly, improved some bad habits and started sleeping better. I find the human brain a constant source of amazement - we are capable of so much more than we think we are!

Additional information

I charge £149 for a single 1-off session for both face to face and online appointments, which lasts 90 minutes.  Follow up sessions are £85 each.  I  offer packages of 3 or more paid upfront which cost £80 per session and include personalised recordings.  Booking a package is a more cost effective way of working with me, and is a wise investment which can help you make beneficial and long-lasting changes.  My fees reflect my experience and my consistent 5 star customer feedback on Google.  I pride myself on helping clients to achieve goals in the shortest time possible and I use techniques that offer results quickly.

Some of my clients claim back the cost from their employers or from a private health insurance scheme.  Do check to see if you can do this, and if so I am happy to provide you with a letter.

I also offer the opportunity to spread the cost of a longer package over a number of months to make it more affordable to you.
