About me

I'm Francesca, an integrative therapist, psychotherapeutic counsellor, and hypnotherapist. I offer a combination of hypnotherapy with counselling to help my clients achieve lasting change.

You might experience a complex mix of thoughts and feelings when you're ready to begin therapy. You might be thinking —

  • ‘I know what’s wrong, but I don’t know how to change.’
  • ‘I'm not sure what’s wrong, but I don’t feel good about myself.’
  • ‘I'm frustrated — I keep doing the same thing, but I don’t know why.’

I provide a non-judgemental and accepting space for healing and change.

I often work with clients who are looking for deep and long-lasting change. Some of my clients have some previous experience with therapy. For others, it's their first time opening up to someone. My approach is compassionate, supportive, and insightful.

I'm here to help you with various challenges that may affect your mental health and well-being. Some of the areas I specialise in include:

  • Managing anxiety and stress
  • Coping with depression and low moods
  • Boosting confidence and improving self-esteem
  • Exploring and resolving relationship issues, including insecure attachment patterns like anxious, avoidant, and disorganised ways of relating to others. These are sometimes called 'commitment issues' or 'abandonment issues'.
  • Resolving sleep problems, including insomnia and sleep anxiety
  • Ending self-destructive behaviours and improving self-care
  • Understanding and addressing issues such as anger and jealousy
  • Resolving female sexual challenges, including vaginismus
  • Overcoming feelings of isolation or loneliness
  • Processing and integrating psychedelic experiences and non-ordinary states of consciousness
  • Healing after complex life experiences and treating post-traumatic stress responses

Short-term therapy may be the right approach if you are looking for support in a period of distress or difficulty. Medium or long-term therapy is more explorative and can help you understand your life, your relationships, and the patterns you’ve experienced. Therapy typically happens weekly at a set time that works for both of us.

Healing from Abuse and Neglect

Some of my clients have experienced childhood trauma, neglect, or abuse. When this is unresolved, it can lead to problems in their adult lives. I help my clients understand how to heal from these experiences so they can feel good about themselves.

Attachment Issues — including Anxious Attachment, Avoidant Attachment, and Disorganised Attachment

Maybe you've noticed a relationship pattern that you can't seem to change on your own. You might have reached the end of another relationship or can’t seem to let go of previous relationships. You sometimes feel nervous in relationships or struggle with getting close to others. I help my clients to explore and resolve these feelings.

Hypnotherapy Supervision

I'm a registered acknowledged supervisor with the General Hypnotherapy Register (GHR). I offer one-to-one and group supervision for hypnotherapists. I work with trainees and experienced hypnotherapists.

My practice follows the code of ethics and standard of practice set forth by the General Hypnotherapy Standards Council (GHSC).

The CNHC encompasses many types of alternative therapy, including hypnotherapy.

In order to be admitted to the register a practitioner must have studied to the National Occupational Standards for that profession/discipline, or have reached the equivalent of the National Occupational Standards through other relevant training or at least three years of experience and been assessed by their peers.

The General Hypnotherapy Register (GHR)

Hypnotherapists may become members of the General Hypnotherapy Register if they satisfy certain criteria with regard to both training and ongoing requirements as determined from time to time by the General Hypnotherapy Standards Council (GHSC).

Members are either registered at Practitioner status (which confirms that the GHR acknowledges their qualification to practice), or Affiliate status. Although Affiliate level registrants will have completed a sufficient number of training hours to equip them to commence seeing clients on a limited basis, the GHR does not acknowledge them to have yet been trained to full practitioner level.

All GHR Registered Practitioners are required to accept the published Code of Ethics and Complaints & Disciplinary Procedure.
