About me

You might be here because you’re struggling with an aspect of your life or you’d like to make a change for the better.

I’m Francesca Elisia, a qualified and experienced hypnotherapist.

I help my clients heal and grow so they may flourish and enjoy a calm, authentic, and joyful life.

I support my clients as they explore and resolve troubling thoughts and behaviours, release unwanted habits and symptoms, and develop better emotional and overall wellbeing.

My process brings together a unique combination of analytical hypnotherapy and mindfulness coaching to help my clients achieve lasting change.

Challenges I can help with include:

  • Anxiety and stress
  • Low self-confidence and low self-esteem
  • Low mood and depression
  • Obsessions and compulsions
  • Fears and phobias
  • Panic attacks
  • Sleeplessness
  • Sexual dysfunction and intimacy issues
  • Relationship challenges
  • Negative body image
  • Self-destructive behaviours and lack of self-love/self-care
  • Processing and integrating complex life experiences
  • Smoking and substance abuse

My approach to healing and change

Hypnotherapy uses a combination of hypnosis and therapeutic methods to uncover and resolve the underlying causes of issues and symptoms.

To explore the causes of my clients’ challenges, I use a range of therapeutic modalities to complement the process of hypnotherapy. These include person-centred, psychodynamic, cognitive-behavioural, mindfulness, existential, and psychoanalytic approaches.

In practice, this includes nurturing present-moment awareness, providing nonjudgmental acceptance of personal experience, and facilitating awareness of thoughts and feelings.

I support my clients in creating deep self-compassion, developing awareness of personal values, and considering meaning in life.

“Working with Francesca has been a welcome change in the way I think about myself. She is an incredibly open, encouraging, and inspiring practitioner. I’d recommend working with her in a heartbeat!” — M. H.

“Francesca really sets you at ease with her naturally calm and warm demeanour, enabling you to relax deeply and connect with your innermost thoughts. You get no sense of judgement from Francesca but a strong sense that she wants to support you to work on the things that are important to you. I highly recommend her as a hypnotherapist.” — A. T.

The CNHC encompasses many types of alternative therapy, including hypnotherapy.

In order to be admitted to the register a practitioner must have studied to the National Occupational Standards for that profession/discipline, or have reached the equivalent of the National Occupational Standards through other relevant training or at least three years of experience and been assessed by their peers.

GHR

The General Hypnotherapy Register

Hypnotherapists may become members of the General Hypnotherapy Register if they satisfy certain criteria with regard to both training and ongoing requirements as determined from time to time by the General Hypnotherapy Standards Council (GHSC).

Members are either registered at Practitioner status (which confirms that the GHR acknowledges their qualification to practice), or Affiliate status. Although Affiliate level registrants will have completed a sufficient number of training hours to equip them to commence seeing clients on a limited basis, the GHR does not acknowledge them to have yet been trained to full practitioner level.

All GHR Registered Practitioners are required to accept the published Code of Ethics and Complaints & Disciplinary Procedure.

The Accredited Register Scheme was set up in 2013 by the Department of Health (DoH) as a way to recognise organisations that hold voluntary registers which meet certain standards. These standards are set by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA).

If a hypnotherapist's premises aren't step-free, they may offer alternative services such as telephone/web-based appointments, home visits, or meeting clients in different location, so you can choose the option that suits you best.
