In a nutshell, how can I help you...

As a Clinical Hypnotherapist, I provide hypnotherapy to adults and children (young people / teenagers, aged 15+ years).

I am a professional member of the Complementary and Natural Healthcare Council (CNHC), Association for Solution Focused Hypnotherapy (AfSFH) and National Council for Hypnotherapy (NCH).

Areas I specialise in include:

  • Anxiety, excessive worry and panic attacks
  • Depression and low mood
  • Stress and overwhelm (family, work, relationships)
  • Fears and phobias (i.e fear of flying, fear of driving, social phobia, fear of needles, fear of being sick / vomit  (emetophobia), fear of public speaking, claustrophobia, agoraphobia, fear of the dentist etc)
  • Health anxiety and worries
  • Self-confidence and self-esteem, image perception, self-worth etc
  • Negative habits and behaviours (stuck in a negative cycle), repetitive behaviours, procrastination, imposter syndrome.
  • Eating problems and disordered eating
  • Addictions i.e sex, gambling, pornography and abuse of drugs and alcohol
  • Irritable bowel syndrome (IBS)
  • Sleep problems - insomnia, poor sleep quality
  • Sexual issues i.e non-medical erectile dysfunction, intimacy issues, relationship issues
  • Managing your emotions i.e anger management, jealousy, frustration, overwhelm
  • Menopause symptom management
  • Weight management, weight loss, food addiction, binge eating - getting away from yo-yo dieting  (I used to be a Personal Trainer so know a thing or two about weight loss).
  • Blushing and non-medical excessive sweating problems
  • OCD
  • Stressful, anxiety, worry inducing life events (weddings, funerals, public speaking, speeches, exam and test nerves (GCSEs, A-Levels, Qualifications), including driving exam and tests).

What is my hypnotherapy approach and what tools do I use to support this change?

I use an integrated, solution focused approach, which is based on the latest evidence-based research from neuroscience and incorporates the very best elements of Solution Focused Brief Therapy (SFBT), Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT) and Neuro-Linguistic Programming (NLP) with clinical hypnotherapy

Solution Focused Hypnotherapy combines a non-invasive form of ‘talking therapy' / psychotherapy (SFBT) with a gentle trance-like state (hypnosis) that puts you in control, replacing negative, anxious thoughts, allowing your mind to be open to positive changes.

This allows you to reshape your thought patterns, emotions (i.e Anxiety) and behaviours towards a desired outcome (feeling better and coping better). We focus on the solution, rather than the problem.  Whether this be personal, relationships or even your career.

At this point you're likely feeling a bit overwhelmed and I know reaching out to a therapist can be a bit daunting, let alone reading everyone's profiles on here 🤯

Does any of this sound familiar?

  • Has anxiety, worry taken control of your life? Are you constantly feeling stressed?
  • Have you lost your confidence, have low self-esteem and/or lost motivation?
  • Do you feel like you’re stuck in a not very helpful cycle (a funk, a rut?)
  • Is fear or a phobia holding you back from living the life you want?
  • Does life feel really overwhelming right now and you're just plain tired of feeling the stress?
  • Are you stuck in a never ending procrastination cycle, lost your motivation, direction and drive, feeling lost either in your personal or professional life?
  • Do you wish you could find a way to cope better with anxiety, worry and fear and know things shouldn't be as hard as this?
  • Do you feel you are standing on the sideline of your own life right now?
  • You are not the person you want to be (and know you can be), whether that's how you feel about life, or even yourself around self-image, your weight, confidence at home or at work /career.

If you're like "uh huh, uh huh.. to any of these." - the good news is, I can help you! 💪

What are the next steps?

I offer a FREE (no obligation) 45 Minute Initial Consultation / Hypnotherapy Discovery Session  (no ½ measures here!) - in-person (Upper Heyford, nr Bicester, Oxfordshire, or online.

This gives you the opportunity to be heard in a secure, non-judgemental and therapeutic space and together we can explore what you would like support with/or to work on, what you want to achieve, how I work and the process and for you to ask me any questions you like. With absolutely know obligation to continue. Therapy is very personal choice.

How many sessions do people need on average?

It's a quick therapy, usually 6-12 sessions (but can vary) and doesn't involve talking about the past. Simple phobias are usually around 4 sessions.

Solution Focused Hypnotherapy harnesses the principles of neuroplasticity to facilitate positive neural pathway changes, allowing you to reshape your thought patterns, emotions and behaviours towards a desired outcome (feeling better and coping better).

It's perfectly normal to feel a bit apprehensive when reaching out to a therapist for more information. Taking this step is a powerful choice, and I want you to know that it's absolutely okay to feel that way. I’m here to provide support and guidance every step of the way and to make you feel totally at ease. 🤗

I have a cosy and comfortable therapy room in Upper Heyford, nr Bicester, Oxfordshire, OX25 (with easy, off-street parking), and therefore easy driving distance from Chipping Norton, Banbury, Kidlington, Buckingham, Brackley, Bucknell, as well as on the border of Berkshire, Buckinghamshire, Northamptonshire and Warwickshire, but I also work online nationally.

I look forward to connecting with you soon!

All the best!

Andy :)

Other areas of hypnotherapy I deal with

I work with all kinds of people (aged 15+), and everyone is welcome in my therapy room.

Often, if a company has a 'Health Cash Plan Scheme', the employee can claim back the cost of hypnotherapy via that plan (depending on the plan).

I can also facilitate group sessions, including group guided relaxation for Corporate Wellness Days etc and work with HR professionals and small business owners  (both corporate and personally).

I have interest in supporting weight management / weight loss and self-confidence (from my Personal Training / PT  days!).

My therapy room is based in Upper Heyford, Oxfordshire, nr Bicester, so I am accessible to local towns such as Brackley, Aylesbury, Banbury, Buckingham, Thame, Milton Keynes etc. I am also spread nicely within easy access of Northamptonshire, Buckinghamshire, Bedfordshire, Worcestershire and Berkshire, as well as the West Midlands.

But, I can also work online, making my services more accessible.

Some Testimonials / Client Feedback :

"I’ve spoken to a lot of people in my life but this time it felt different. No more talking about the past or any negativity, instead purely focussing on the positive changes I can make in my life. It has helped me and my anxiety so much. Things that could have triggered me before but didn’t. I even look forward to the next session! " - Katie (Oxfordshire)  - Sales Director .

"I was looking for something, but wasn't sure what I needed to get rid of my racing thoughts and anxiety. After understanding more about the brain and a few sessions with Andy I noticed a massive difference. I loved that we didn't talk about the past, only solutions to become the future happier me!  I've developed healthy habits, and my thoughts/anxiety/stress levels have fallen. I'm now able to take a logical approach and using the tools that Andy has given me, I'm calmer and more in control of my life. Thank you!!!" - Amy (Oxfordshire) - Emergency Services

"I needed help trying to find solutions to the issues I was facing after my separation and to help my children and I move forward in a positive way. Solution focused hypnotherapy helped me to firstly ease the weight of stress I was feeling and help me find tools to navigate situations so that I was making better decisions and choices. It has made a huge difference to my quality of life and some of the techniques I've learnt have benefitted my children who are also using them. Andy, you were a complete star from the beginning, always calm and reassuring.. I really don't know where I would be if I hadn't had the fortune of meeting you. I am so happy to have met you and found solution focused hypnotherapy. Thank you for everything, there aren't enough words to convey my gratitude!" Helen (Oxfordshire) - Office Manager.

I hoped to reduce my flying fear/phobia leading up to a long haul flight which will ultimately make me enjoy my holiday more.  Since our sessions I feel more in control of my thoughts and feelings. I understand why my mind and body does what it does.  I’ve enjoyed Andy’s company, he’s personable and really easy to understand. I get the feeling he genuinely gets a sense of satisfaction by helping people. I would recommend hypnotherapy to people as a way of combating a variety of things. Mine initially was a phobia, but linked really nicely into an overall optimistic mindset. - Darren (Buckinghamshire) - Emergency Services

"I had worked through a lot of my issues in talking therapy, but I was being held back from being able to fully move forward.  I was therefore looking for the solutions and strength to do this. I was able to learn how to react to the challenges I was facing in the way I wanted to. I let go of a lot of anger and have been able to heal from a really awful and unexpected life situation. You are so supportive and amazing - a total rock! Thank you so much Andy for such a positive experience and for helping me to find my happy self again 🥰 I have recommended you over and over again and it’s been lovely to see how you have really helped my friends too"  Laura (Oxfordshire) - Operations Director
