About me

Hello! I am a fully qualified and accredited clinical hypnotherapist, TFT (tapping) , NLP and Jikiden Reiki practitioner with clinics in Mid Calder and Galashiels. I have specific training and a deep rooted passion for helping children aged 6-16, and their families, with all types of behavioural issues - using a combination of modalities centred around Hypnotherapy.

I am genuinely excited about helping my clients make the changes they seek,  and I hope that we can work together to achieve your goals.

Training, qualifications & experience

I have been training and practicing in the field since 2019, having found Hypnotherapy while navigating my own journey of resilience! I have 27 years of lived experience in fast paced corporate environments, and fully understand the challenges of workplace performance, stress and burnout. Being a mother to a young child I also understand the challenges of today's childhood experiences, and how that translates in classroom and at home!

I hold registrations with the NCH, the CNCH, and ANLP. Qualifications include: Dip (ACHMT) /HPD/ Energy work/Hypno4children / EFT /TFT/CBT/ Hypno EMDR.

I am also a Board member (Director of Business) for the National Council for Hypnotherapy (www.hypnotherapists.org.uk).

I provide and have recent experience of providing, corporate sessions: recently (June '23) supporting well-being days in a Finance organisation with group and 1-1 hypnotherapy sessions - so please reach out if you are interested in making a difference in your workplace.

Further information

I’m a therapist…and the primary modality I use is Hypnosis - for children and adults.

💥I specifically trained in additional approaches for children age 6+ because this really matters ; and I firmly believe in Hypnotherapy, alongside TFT and NLP techniques, as an approach that can make a huge difference to everyone .

💫How can hypnotherapy help my child ?
💫He doesn’t  look he’s being hypnotised!
💫Surely he shouldn’t be moving around like that?

All questions or comments that are common from parents when they sit through a session with me and wonder if anything is sinking in.  But it is. It most definitely is.

I’m passionate about helping children. What better age to start teaching skills that will carry through life and help build young adults who have a wellbeing toolkit at their fingertips?  I have a 9 year old myself, and I’m astounded by the sheer constant “on” button that kids today deal with. TV on demand (no waiting until a week for the next episode) iPads, gaming and online chat…my son can fix the firestick quicker than I can !
Add in social skills post covid and you have a melting pot of emotions - all just part of growing up right?  Yes….for many…but not for all. For some it’s just too much and  this can highlight phobias and learnt behaviours that are unresourceful for the child, permeating  their home and school environments.
And then there are the wait lists for assessments which can seem to drive even more anxiety into parents and children alike.

So why hypnotherapy?
——————————

It’s a gentle but thoughtful and powerful therapy that allows a heightened focus and awareness while in a state of trance.   Combine this with NLP (neuro linguistic programming) which is simply the art of understanding and seeking behavioural excellence,  and you have a doorway to successful change.

Taking time to understand  a child’s behaviours by gently investigating and applying supportive but challenging questioning techniques is the start of the journey. Helping the child understand their behaviour, creating space for the child to explore an alternative view or perspective, and teaching lifelong skills like breathing and tapping, alongside anchoring, can bring about a massive change in day to day behaviour, and therefore day to day family dynamic.
