About me

My name is Michael Pughsley and I would like to invite you to Start Hypnotherapy with me.

Whether you have experience of hypnosis or not, I strongly believe that hypnotherapy is a fast and effective way to achieve your goals and change your behaviours.

Whether it is anxiety, weight management, sleep disorders or a performance issue, I can help. By leaving your past in the past and removing all those blockages in the way of being the best version of yourself, you can change the course of your life.

It all starts with you getting in touch and exploring the possibilities.

Training, qualifications & experience

I am a qualified hypnotherapist, registered with the General Hypnotherapists Register, the National Guild of Hypnotists and the Complimentary and Natural Healthcare Council.

I am successful at working with a range of clients from different backgrounds and with varied goals. I will work collaboratively with you to remove blocks and cycles of thought and behaviour, opening ways to a happier healthier life.

Clients come to me with a wide range of issues including work and relationship related stress, anxiety, depression, weight management, smoking cessation, sleep disorders, trauma and many others. I am a certified practitioner the virtual gastric band method for weight management.

As well as a masters degree in corporate and commercial law, I achieved a masters degree in systematic theology both from the University of London. My education and experience has taken me through paths as varied as teaching undergraduate law and managing large and complex housing stock. I have a life-long desire for learning and developing myself and helping others do the same.

It is my interest in people and how they think and behave however that drives my passion for helping you achieve and maintain change. Changing the way we think and behave inevitably changes the way we feel. How much more exciting could a job be?

Member organisations

CNHC
Complementary and Natural Healthcare Council (CNHC)

The CNHC encompasses many types of alternative therapy, including hypnotherapy.

In order to be admitted to the register a practitioner must have studied to the National Occupational Standards for that profession/discipline, or have reached the equivalent of the National Occupational Standards through other relevant training or at least three years of experience and been assessed by their peers.

A practitioner must also have professional insurance and agree to abide by the CNHC Code of Conduct, Performance and Ethics.

GHR
The General Hypnotherapy Register (GHR)

Hypnotherapists may become members of the General Hypnotherapy Register if they satisfy certain criteria with regard to both training and ongoing requirements as determined from time to time by the General Hypnotherapy Standards Council (GHSC).

Members are either registered at Practitioner status (which confirms that the GHR acknowledges their qualification to practice), or Affiliate status. Although Affiliate level registrants will have completed a sufficient number of training hours to equip them to commence seeing clients on a limited basis, the GHR does not acknowledge them to have yet been trained to full practitioner level.

All GHR Registered Practitioners are required to accept the published Code of Ethics and Complaints & Disciplinary Procedure.
