About me
Already working as a Midwife I qualified as a Hypnobirthing Practitioner in 2006 to help women have a positive birth experience. I quickly realised that I needed further training in hypnotherapy to support women and their families effectively during the pre and postnatal period and qualified as a hypnotherapist and NLP Practitioner in 2007. This training opened my eyes to the amazing changes that hypnotherapy can make to people suffering from many mental health challenges as well as physical illnesses such as chronic pain, IBS and chronic fatigue syndrome to name but a few. I am also qualified as an ACT (acceptance and commitment therapy) and EMDR (eye movement desensitisation and reprocessing).
Latest research on the mind-body connection shows that the brain and the body are constantly sending messages to each other and chronic stress and an overuse of the fight-flight response can lead to many physical illnesses such as pain, fatigue, skin conditions and digestive system changes. Learning to activate the para-sympathetic nervous system - through the breath, visualisation and mindfulness - will lower adrenaline, reduce anxiety symptoms and keep the body in balance.
I have many years experience of working with individuals and families to ease worries and increase confidence and self-esteem. I am friendly, empathic and compassionate and can offer you a safe place, free of judgement, where you can feel listened to.
I work from my home in Stratford upon Avon and remotely during lockdowns.

Testimonials
Marie is very caring and personable and clearly has much experience to draw on to provide the help needed. Marie has been a huge help to me through PND and to know it wouldn't last forever. This has also had a massive impact on my bond with my baby and to see a way forward
I just wanted to drop you a quick email now I am back from holiday. Thank you so much, the flight out was stress-free and even better coming back! I'd still like to tackle the claustrophobia some more so I'll be booking another appointment but I feel so much better already. I even went in a lift (albeit a glass one!)
Marie made me feel safe from the start. The ACT process and hypnotherapy has helped me feel so much more confident in my ability to handle my emotions.
I suffered from severe anxiety that stopped me doing what I wanted to do. Seeing Marie for ACT and hypnotherapy has helped me so much. I am now able to go out socially without the crippling symptoms that would occur before. Learning how to relax, accept my feelings and to unhook from the panicky symptoms along with some long term goal setting made all the difference. I would definitely recommend Marie to anyone suffering from anxiety.
