About me

Do you feel stuck in your own mind - constantly overthinking, expecting the worst, and finding yourself avoiding things you know you want or need to do?

Maybe your confidence has taken a hit, you’re putting things off, or you feel overwhelmed by your emotions and unsure how to manage them. You might struggle to go out, follow through on plans, or feel like yourself again even though part of you knows you’re capable of more.

As an accredited Cognitive Behavioural Hypnotherapist, I specialise in helping people move out of these patterns in a way that feels practical, supportive, and sustainable. Many of my clients come to me feeling this way, caught in loops of overthinking, panic, avoidance, or repeating habits they know aren’t helping and often begin to notice meaningful improvements within the first 3–6 sessions.

You might recognise some of this:

  • Your mind is always “on” and won’t slow down
  • You replay conversations or worry about what might go wrong
  • You feel mentally exhausted but still can’t relax
  • You struggle to switch off at night or sleep properly
  • You put pressure on yourself and fear getting things wrong

If even some of that resonates, you’re not alone - and we can work with it.

How I can help

By integrating hypnotherapy with CBT and mindfulness, we work directly with the patterns driving anxiety, helping your mind and nervous system respond differently, not just think differently.

I combine Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT), mindfulness, and clinical hypnotherapy because each works at a different level - and together, they create deeper and longer-lasting change.

  • CBT focuses on thoughts, emotions and behaviours, and how these integrate with each other to maintain distress. It helps you understand what’s happening  and gives you practical and scientific ways to respond differently.
  • Hypnotherapy works more directly with the automatic patterns in your mind and body, the ones that keep anxiety, avoidance, and habits going, even when you know what to do.
  • Mindfulness helps you build awareness of your thoughts, emotions, and physical responses in the moment, so you can step back from them rather than getting pulled into them. This makes it easier to respond more calmly and intentionally, instead of reacting on autopilot.
  • When used together, this means we’re not just talking things through or relying on willpower, you’re actually changing how your mind and body respond, so things begin to feel easier and more natural over time.

If you’ve tried to “think your way out of it” before but still feel stuck, this approach is designed to work differently.

I see our work as two people sitting down and having a conversation—working through what’s going on in a way that feels supportive, collaborative, and grounded.

I’ll meet you where you’re at, adapt the work to suit you, and help you make sense of what’s happening - while guiding you towards meaningful, long lasting changes.

Together, this approach can help you:

  • Quiet the constant mental chatter
  • Break out of overthinking, avoidance, and habit loops
  • Build healthier habits and respond to situations more calmly
  • Develop a kinder, more supportive inner voice
  • Improve self-esteem, confidence, and self-trust
  • Sleep better and switch off more easily
  • Feel more grounded, in control, and less overwhelmed
  • Many clients also notice improvements in focus, decision-making, and their ability to handle pressure more effectively.

You don’t need to have everything figured out before reaching out - we’ll work through it together.

Training, qualifications & experience

I work both in private practice as a therapist and within NHS primary care as a Mental Health Coordinator. Alongside this, I have additional experience in support and recovery-focused roles within healthcare settings. This dual perspective allows me to understand mental health across both clinical and real-world contexts, giving me a broad and grounded view of the diverse and often complex needs clients bring to therapy.

I have a degree in Applied Psychology and I am an accredited integrative therapist, trained in evidence-based approaches including Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT), Clinical Hypnotherapy, and Mindfulness-based interventions. My work combines structured, goal-focused methods with deeper exploratory understanding, aiming not just for symptom relief, but sustainable psychological change.

With over 10 years of experience, I have supported individuals through both complex and common mental health challenges - including panic disorders, anxiety, OCD, trauma, depression, relationship difficulties, personality-related patterns, and neurodivergence.

I have many years of experience working with ADHD and autistic clients across various settings. I understand how emotional dysregulation, shutdowns, masking, rejection sensitivity, executive functioning difficulties, and burnout can shape daily life and self-perception. My work is adapted to be practical, affirming, and attuned to individual cognitive styles.

I also have significant experience supporting survivors of domestic abuse and individuals recovering from toxic or coercive relationships. This includes working with trauma responses, trauma bonding patterns, rebuilding self-trust, navigating post-separation anxiety, and strengthening boundaries. I approach this work with sensitivity, clarity, and a strong understanding of the psychological impact of long-term relational stress.

In addition, I have extensive experience working with LGBTQ+ clients and am committed to providing an inclusive, affirming, and culturally sensitive space. I understand the impact that minority stress, identity exploration, relationship dynamics, and experiences of stigma or discrimination can have on mental health. My approach is respectful, non-assumptive, and grounded in supporting clients to feel safe, validated, and empowered.

Beyond professional training, I bring lived experience of anxiety, depression and trauma recovery. This deepens my empathy and understanding while maintaining clear professional boundaries. It allows me to appreciate both the theory and the lived reality of change.

Alongside my clinical work, I have a strong interest in neuroscience, particularly how the brain and nervous system shape our emotional experiences and capacity for resilience. I am also interested in the intersection between psychology and spirituality - not in a dogmatic sense, but in how meaning, values, and connection influence wellbeing.

My aim is not simply to help clients cope, but to help them understand their patterns, strengthen emotional regulation, build resilience, and create meaningful, lasting shifts in how they relate to themselves and the world around them.

Testimonials

‘Very approachable. Listened well. Kind and caring. Empathetic. Very helpful. Lots of useful information sent to me. Helped me at a difficult time physically and mentally. It helped me manage my thoughts and coping with stressful situations when returning to work.’

'She has been a catalyst in this part of my journey towards a better and more fulfilling life as when I was referred to her I had no vision of a future where I would be thriving and happy. More of people like herself are needed in this world'

'We worked on different techniques for different types of anxiety and it has helped me to find new ways of dealing with my different types of anxieties'

'Angelika has been fantastic. Very thoughtful, knowledgeable, intelligent & kind. She is very approachable (very easy to talk to), & listens sensitively, intelligently & perceptively. Angelika is non-judgemental, & her buoyant, naturally positive personality, & problem solving, empathetic nature was perfect. Seeing Angelika in itself really helped, but her observation, kindness, recommended reading, activities (i.e. breathing) & resources were' exceptionally helpful, & equally appreciated.

'Angelika has helped me so much with my depression. She encouraged me to try new things, helped me understand things better, and gave me lots of tools. My mood is not as bad as it was. Hypnotherapy was also very relaxing.'

'Angelika is a lovely person. She taught me how to quiet my mind, reducing restless nights, and create healthier sleep habits. I had a bit of CBT and Hypnosis. I now feel more in control, and my sleep has improved significantly. I feel so much more rested and able to handle the day.'

'Angelika has such a lovely and calm way about her. She's a very caring person, and I felt supported and understood throughout our sessions. She helped me a lot with my social anxiety, providing practical tools and a safe space to explore everything. She also encouraged me to do things I would have never done on my own, helping me step out of my comfort zone and build more confidence.'
