About me
You are here because you are seeking support to actually change how life feels for you day-to-day. Anxiety, fear or phobia is holding you back from enjoying 'simple' things in life.
I have noticed a strong correlation between low self-esteem and anxiety in my clients and by focusing on these aspects we have been able to make real change happen.
Things like finally feeling confident enough to drive alone along a motorway, to apply to new job roles and actually feel confident in interview, finally stop blushing and feel confident in conversations, get blood tests without squirming out of the chair, getting in n a plane to finally take your kids to Disney land, feel happy and calm going to social events like a best friends wedding - finally free from social anxiety.
All of these changes happened because we focused on the patterns and not the story. This is where solution focused hypnotherapy combined with NLP really makes the difference.
Often my clients feel disconnected from themselves, aware that they are not 'who they used to be' or feel that they have never really known their 'true' self.
They feel held back by 'unhealthy' habits, fears or phobias that they know they want to change but nothing they have tried has helped or really stuck. This is often due to a 'protective' part within your mind that thinks it's helping to keep you safe when actually - it's just making you frustrated.
You don’t need to be in crisis to seek support. If life just feels harder than it should, I’m here to help.
My goal isn’t to remove stress from your life (let’s be honest — life can get stressful). It’s to help you feel calmer, clearer, and more capable of going with the flow, even when things get hard.
My Approach
From day one we’ll get clear on your goals and use clinical measurement tools to track your progress - because concrete evidence matters, especially in work that can feel abstract.
Everything is tailored to you. I combine clinical solution focused hypnotherapy with neuroscience-informed techniques, nervous system regulation, and modern psychotherapy- making sure the process fits your needs. This means we do not need to speak about the past if you don't want to, we simply focus on where you are now and where you want to be.
My background is in teaching, and it still shapes how I work. I don’t just guide you through hypnosis, I help you understand what’s going on for you. We’ll explore the connections between anxiety and self-esteem, touch on how your nervous system and subconscious mind work, and I’ll give you practical tools you can use every day, between sessions.
What Happens in a Session
1. Chat — we talk about your goals, challenges, and what’s come up since your last session
2. Hypnosis — I guide you through a personalised hypnosis experience designed around your needs
3. Practical tools — you leave with techniques to support your progress between sessions
4. Home recording — every client receives an MP3 hypnosis audio to reinforce the work we do together
Sessions are available in my private clinic in Alva or online.
My Clinic
My dedicated clinic is separate from my home, and I’ve designed it to feel like a quiet, cosy nook in a busy world. A place where you can just focus on you.

Past client reviews
"Amy has helped me with confidence and positivity during an immense volume of change. Moving house, new job and menopause would be stressful on their own without happening at the same time! I was sceptical but felt I had nothing to lose. I am so glad that I did it! It’s helped me embrace all that was happening and look forward to seeing all things through to fruition. It’s opened my mind to hypnotherapy and will be using again. Amy has been wonderful and is very helpful and supportive. It’s definitely something everyone should consider.” -Whitney (2023)

I honestly can't thank Amy enough, the hypnosis had a positive impact but the therapy side really helped me to feel normal and understood. I am lucky to have support around me but having sessions with Amy allowed me to be completely raw and real with someone who genuinely understands. Having all the information about anxiety tailored to me and my experiences was also invaluable.

Training, qualifications & experience
I found hypnotherapy after a long and difficult journey with stress and anxiety that really peaked in work-related stress and burnout. I had tried talk therapy, CBT, medications - the lot. But nothing really seemed to make the difference I was looking for. Until hypnotherapy was suggested and I thought - I have nothing to lose and at least I will get to lie back and switch off for an hour.
I found it was so much more than that. It shifted something deep within me, my anxiety reduced and I could manage stress better. I returned to work for 3 years but my self-esteem and confidence had grown and I wanted to go after something I really wanted. I always wanted to help people feel more confident and happy which led me to teaching but, I knew I wanted to make a deeper impact.
I retrained as a hypnotherapist with the UK Academy of Therapeutic Arts and Science and gained my hypnotherapy practitioners diploma (HPD) and diploma in clinical and advanced hypnotherapy (DipCAH).
Since then I have completed hours of supervisions and completed over 300 hours of therapeutic sessions with clients.
