About me
Anxiety. Phobias. Unwanted habits. Feeling stuck in the same patterns no matter what you try.
If any of that sounds familiar, you're in the right place.
I'm Jason — a Hypnotherapist, Psychotherapist and Coach with 23 years in private practice. I help adults work through emotional, behavioural and life challenges, including those that may have felt resistant to change.
For 17 years I also ran a hypnotherapy training school as Principal and Lead Tutor — so alongside client work, I've had a long involvement in how this field develops and is taught.
What I help with
- Anxiety and panic attacks
- Phobias — including fear of flying
- Stress and burnout
- Sleep problems and insomnia
- Low self-esteem and confidence
- Addictive or compulsive behaviours
- Eating difficulties
- IBS and stress-related physical symptoms
- Pain management
- Relationship difficulties
- Childhood trauma, adult trauma, PTSD and CPTSD
- + And many other issues
How this works
Some issues sit close to the surface and respond well to focused, short-term work. Others have deeper roots — patterns that have been running quietly in the background for years.
My approach is built around addressing what's maintaining the difficulty, not just managing the symptoms. Some people come having already tried other forms of support and are looking for something that works differently. Others come with no prior therapy experience at all - either way is absolutely fine.
Sessions are structured and purposeful. There's no fixed method applied to everyone — instead, I draw on hypnotherapy, psychotherapy, coaching and trauma-informed approaches depending on what looks most likely to be of help.
The pace is manageable and the focus stays practical.
A note on hypnosis — if you're new to it:
Hypnosis is simply a natural state of focused attention. You remain aware and in control throughout — it's nothing like stage hypnosis or what's sometimes shown on television. Most people find it deeply relaxing. You can't be made to say or do anything you wouldn't choose to.
Many clients notice meaningful shifts within a relatively small number of sessions. Others prefer a longer period of work. Either way, sessions are shaped around what you need.

That's a completely normal place to be — and exactly what the free consultation is for.
It's a straightforward 30-minute conversation — no pressure, no obligation — to talk through what's going on and how I might be able to help.

Professional membership

Member organisations
school Registered / Accredited
Being registered/accredited with a professional body means an individual must have achieved a substantial level of training and experience approved by their member organisation.
The CNHC encompasses many types of alternative therapy, including hypnotherapy.
In order to be admitted to the register a practitioner must have studied to the National Occupational Standards for that profession/discipline, or have reached the equivalent of the National Occupational Standards through other relevant training or at least three years of experience and been assessed by their peers.
A practitioner must also have professional insurance and agree to abide by the CNHC Code of Conduct, Performance and Ethics.
Hypnotherapists may become members of the General Hypnotherapy Register if they satisfy certain criteria with regard to both training and ongoing requirements as determined from time to time by the General Hypnotherapy Standards Council (GHSC). Members are either registered at Practitioner status (which confirms that the GHR acknowledges their qualification to practice), or Affiliate status. Although Affiliate level registrants will have completed a sufficient number of training hours to equip them to commence seeing clients on a limited basis, the GHR does not acknowledge them to have yet been trained to full practitioner level. All GHR Registered Practitioners are required to accept the published Code of Ethics and Complaints & Disciplinary Procedure.
Accredited register membership
The Accredited Register Scheme was set up in 2013 by the Department of Health (DoH) as a way to recognise organisations that hold voluntary registers which meet certain standards. These standards are set by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA).
This therapist has indicated that they belong to an Accredited Register.
Areas of hypnotherapy I deal with
info Information about health conditions (*)
Hypnotherapy can enhance the well-being of individuals diagnosed with serious medical conditions, but should not take the place of medical treatment and advice. If you have been diagnosed with - or suspect you may have - any of these conditions, please speak to your doctor before starting hypnotherapy.
Other areas of hypnotherapy I deal with
I also work extensively with adults affected by childhood trauma and adverse childhood experiences — including abuse, neglect, and difficult early environments.
This is work that calls for particular care, careful pacing, and clinical experience. It's an area I've trained in specifically and worked with throughout my career.
