About me

Hello, I'm Thea, an integrated therapist and clinical hypnotherapist, specialising in anxiety related issues.  I offer a compassionate, empathetic, non-judgemental, person-centred approach tailored to each client's specific needs to help them achieve the changes they want.

There may be many reasons you’ve found your way here, or it could be one.

Perhaps you’re here because you want to make a change or because you’re struggling with stress, anxiety or depression. It could be that you’re going through a period of change or loss, navigating complicated feelings or dealing with relationship issues. Maybe you’re having trouble sleeping, want to work on overcoming a phobia or have a habit you want to break.

My objective and commitment as a therapist is to be there alongside you, shoulder to shoulder. By holding a space for you to be truly listened to, supported and empowered, I offer a compassionate, empathetic, non-judgemental and client-centred approach, believing you hold the skills to overcome the challenges you face. I truly believe that everyone deserves to be heard and have their experiences validated and I strive to create an environment where you feel comfortable and at ease. We’ll go at your pace, and you won’t need to talk about things you’re not ready to discuss.

By training in an integrative approach to clinical hypnotherapy and psychotherapy, I’m able to draw on a wide wide range of techniques and theories which is tailored especially to you, such as Clinical Hypnosis, Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT), Neuro-linguistic Programming (NLP), Parts work (I'm Internal Family Systems informed), Havening and Person-Centred Psychotherapy.  This means I’m able to use a multidisciplinary understanding of psychology to offer both short-term, evidence-based and solution-focused support or longer term therapy depending on what you feel you need.

It can be really daunting reaching out for help and taking the first steps to find a therapist.  Reaching out for help is a courageous start and choosing the right therapist is an important part of your journey. To help you decide whether I might be the right person for you, I offer a free 20 minute discovery call, with no obligation, so you can explore this further.

I know that everyone’s situation is different, which is why I offer both face-to-face and online sessions - it’s all about finding what works best for you.

We all have our own unique story and journey, and I’m here to help you navigate yours.

Let’s work together to help you feel heard, understood and empowered.

A little about me ...

Since completing my BSc (Hons) in Psychology, I worked in the entertainment industry for over two decades, representing a roster of successful creatives.  During that time, my own struggle with anxiety led me to return to my long held interest in psychology and, while embarking on my own therapy, I experienced the immensely positive impact of hypnotherapy and psychotherapy on my wellbeing. Juggling work and family life in a fast-paced world – particularly during the pandemic – left me feeling overwhelmed and exhausted, so returning to the books I read as a student reignited my love for the field of psychology.  This helped me understand more about myself, where I was in life and where I wanted to be.  Having volunteered with a mental health charity and supported friends and family through challenging times, it made me passionate about helping others to make the changes they want in their lives.

It was an easy and exciting decision to re-train and I qualified as a clinical hypnotherapist with additional psychotherapeutic training, studying at the renowned National College of Hypnosis and Psychotherapy.  I’m registered as a Hypnotherapist with the CNHC, NSTT, NCH and the UKCP as a trainee psychotherapist, practising in accordance with their Code of Ethics and Professional Practice and am fully qualified to help with a wide range of issues, specialising particularly in anxiety-related issues.   I undertake regular supervision with an experienced hypno-psychotherapist, and complete my own regular psychotherapy.

As a therapist, I’m fascinated by how our mental and emotional states can have such an impact on our physical health and vice versa.  It’s amazing to see how anxiety, stress and trauma can manifest in physical symptoms and how learning to be present in our bodies, through meditation, breath work and movement can have such a positive impact on our mental health.

I truly believe that when we tune into the connection between mind and body we can unlock so much potential for growth and transformation.  By working to cultivate a strong mind-body connection we can learn to listen to our bodies and our emotions in a whole new way and develop a deeper understanding of ourselves and our needs.  It’s a journey I feel so grateful to be part of and I’m always inspired by the incredible transformations that I see in my clients.

I know how busy life can get, so offer appointments throughout the week, including early and late slots, both in person and online, depending on what suits you best.

If you have any questions about what I offer, please know you can always get in touch with me to schedule a 20 minute discovery call.  I want to make sure you feel as comfortable and confident as possible in taking next steps.
