I am an experienced Clinical Hypnotherapist working in Farnham, Surrey, and I practise Solution Focused Hypnotherapy.
This therapy is a modern combination of Psychotherapy and Hypnosis that can help to deal with a range of problems easily and effectively.
We will focus on what you want to achieve, and we will not look at the past or the problem, but concentrate om moving you forward to your preferred future.
Hypnosis is an important part of the therapy, and you will experience a light, relaxing trance, such as we all do every day naturally - when we are driving, watching TV, or running. You will always be in control and aware of what you are doing.
This form of hypnotherapy draws on techniques also used in Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT) and Neuro-Linguistic Programming (NLP). Some of these are very useful and can be used by the client between sessions to help them.
Hypnotherapy sessions can be experienced very successfully online with Zoom, for clients who cannot come to my home. In the present climate with Covid 19. this is very useful as we try to maintain social distancing and Self Isolation. If you need help with this way of communicating do get in touch - it is very simple and will not involve any extra cost to you.

Training, qualifications & experience
I have the Hypnotherapy Practitioner Diploma in Solution Focused Hypnotherapy from the Clifton Practice, a prestigious school which is recognised for it's high standards and it was awarded the Gold Standard in 2006.
I am registered with the following professional bodies and I am subject to their professional codes of conduct:

- Complementary and Natural Healthcare Council (CNHC)
I regularly update and increase my skills as a therapist through continuing professional development and required supervision.
I am fully insured to practice and hold an enhanced DBS certificate which allows me to work with young people and vulnerable adults.
Association for Solution Focused Hypnotherapy
The Association for Solution Focused Hypnotherapy (AfSFH) was set up to provide information about a modern form of Hypnotherapy and its associated benefits to members of the public. The main aim of the AfSFH is to spread awareness of the benefits of Solution Focused Hypnotherapy. Its secondary aim is to support Hypnotherapists in their businesses by encouraging good practice and self-care.
Complementary and Natural Healthcare Council
The CNHC encompasses many types of alternative therapy, including hypnotherapy.
In order to be admitted to the register a practitioner must have studied to the National Occupational Standards for that profession/discipline, or have reached the equivalent of the National Occupational Standards through other relevant training or at least three years of experience and been assessed by their peers.
A practitioner must also have professional insurance and agree to abide by the CNHC Code of Conduct, Performance and Ethics.
The General Hypnotherapy Register
Hypnotherapists may become members of the General Hypnotherapy Register if they satisfy certain criteria with regard to both training and ongoing requirements as determined from time to time by the General Hypnotherapy Standards Council (GHSC).
Members are either registered at Practitioner status (which confirms that the GHR acknowledges their qualification to practice), or Affiliate status. Although Affiliate level registrants will have completed a sufficient number of training hours to equip them to commence seeing clients on a limited basis, the GHR does not acknowledge them to have yet been trained to full practitioner level.
All GHR Registered Practitioners are required to accept the published Code of Ethics and Complaints & Disciplinary Procedure.

The Accredited Register Scheme was set up in 2013 by the Department of Health (DoH) as a way to recognise organisations that hold voluntary registers which meet certain standards. These standards are set by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA).
This therapist has indicated that they belong to an Accredited Register.

The first consultation Is a preliminary session where I can get to know you and explain how our sessions will help you, and how the brain works, and what we can do to help you achieve the changes you need to make. I will also be able to give you an idea of how many sessions you may need for your therapy.
This session lasts about half an hour.
Subsequent sessions last for about 50 minutes and are equally divided between talking together about your future and the trance work - the relaxing part!

Hypnotherapy for Phobias usually takes four sessions.
Hypnotherapy for Smoking Cessation is a one-off session of one and a half hours and costs £160
Relaxation Sessions - 30 minutes - £40
I run very successful courses for those who want to lose weight and who struggle to maintain a healthy eating pattern. It helps participants understand how their brain works, and how to take control of their thinking around food, their eating and their weight.
A Mindset Approach to Weight Loss is a two session course of 1.5 hours each time. The course canbe one - one, or in groups of up to four people. and includes a Power Point presentation and some hypnosis. It is fun, as well as learning some serious science stuff, and the groups are mutually supportive.
This course can be experienced successfully online on Zoom as can my therapy.

I also offer Relaxation Sessions for those who need help to relax and unwind. These sessions are 30 minutes long and are great for helping you to experience deep relaxation for the body and mind. We need to relax regularly in order for our bodies to repair and restore, and for our minds to process our thoughts and feelings. These sessions are a great opportunity to chill out and do absolutely nothing! You will feel wonderfully relaxed afterwards!
