About me

Hi I'm Richard, a qualified and fully insured Solution Focused Hypnotherapist.

Are you ready for change in your life, but don't know where to start?

Solution Focused Hypnotherapy (SFH) is a type of ‘talking therapy' that focuses on the present and desired changes for the future.

This type of therapy can help with:

  • Confidence and self-esteem issues
  • Issues such as stress, depression, anger and anxiety, panic attacks
  • Chronic pain conditions
  • Phobias
  • Insomnia
  • Addictions
  • Painful memories and traumatic experiences
  • Relationship/marital difficulties
  • and many more...

SFH is only interested in the past for the positive memories, skills and resources which may be helpful establishing a solution and give it longevity. It is made up of two therapeutic approaches, Psychotherapy and Hypnotherapy.

I can work with clients in person from my therapy room in Silsden (West Yorkshire) or remotely this is completely up to you.

Training, qualifications & experience

I have a background in Holistic Therapy working as a Remedial Masseur for over 20 years. I qualified at the Royal National College for the Blind in 1986, with a secondary qualification from Craven College in 2000.

I have always looked to provide a balanced approach to my treatments, focusing equally on the possible psychological contributory factors as to why a physical presentation had started or kept re-occurring. A treatment would always include discussing with a client how: their thoughts about their physical problem, the presence of anger, depression or anxiety in their lives could be intensifying or prolonging their pain and discomfort.

At the beginning of 2021, I decided to focus more on the psychological aspects of the treatments that I provide. I began studying Solution Focused Hypnotherapy and enrolled on a course provided by the Clifton Practice Bristol. I have now qualified and gained the Hypnotherapy Practitioner Diploma and Diploma of Solution Focused Hypnotherapy. I am registered with the Association for Solution Focused Hypnotherapy (AfSFH) and the Complementary and Natural Healthcare Council (CNHC) and have full insurance through the Federation of Holistic Therapists.

This was a journey I wished I'd started 20 years earlier.
