Kate Guest Hypnotherapist*NLP Master Practitioner*Life Coach* EMDR Prac*Nurse
COVID - 19 update. I am still working with clients online and by phone.
I specialise in helping you with anxiety, stress, low self-esteem and confidence issues particularly in the younger age group of 10 - 24.
My nursing background supports my work with you for health-related issues such as weight loss, smoking cessation and needle phobia and I am also a Practitioner in 'Old Pain 2 Go' to help you reduce or remove chronic pain that is limiting your life.
I offer a free initial consultation where I explain to you what hypnosis is and how it can help you. I want you to be fully informed and comfortable with the process and about how it can help you.
Stress and anxiety are normal in our lives, it's how we deal with it and how we let it affect us that makes the difference. During your time with me, I explain what's happening from a neuroscientific perspective and give you tools to help you right away as well as using hypnosis to give you long-lasting results.
My many years as a Nurse means that I have a very solid base from which to help you approach health issues both mentally and physically. I can offer clients a number of services in my practice as well as hypnosis to give clients a full and supportive service which include Neuro-Linguistic Programming, EMDR (Eye Movement Desensitising Reprocessing), E.F.T. (Emotional Freedom Technique), Clean Language Coaching, Handwriting Analysis, Psychometric Personality Profiling, Auricular acupressure, and auricular acupressure.
I also have experience as a Youth Mentor having worked for the Charity 'Young Devon', mentoring 18-24-year-olds, giving them the emotional and functional support they need.
I offer Training, Coaching, Motivational speaking and Hypnosis supporting people in business both personally and professionally with a special focus on 'Wellbeing in the Workplace'.
As a SleepTalk® consultant I can offer you help with this long-established children's programme. SleepTalk® is a process for children with difficulties and children with none. I'm often asked what is hypnosis like? It's different for everyone. It's often likened to being in a daydream, where you are fully conscious but somewhat unaware of things and people around you and if you needed to be fully aware you would become so immediately. Whenever you are fully focused, you are in hypnosis which happens to us naturally on a daily basis like becoming engrossed in a good film, feeling what the character feels even though consciously you know it's not real.
Hypnotherapy is when you are guided by the therapist to achieve a very focused state which in turn allows you to be receptive to positive suggestion.
No one experience will be like another, it is a very individual thing and yet clients find hypnosis a very pleasant experience. Clients leave the session feeling relaxed, calm, focused and yet excited about the changes they've made. It is important to remember that you are always in control.
The question I am most often asked is - How many hypnotherapy sessions will I need? It may be that a client needs four to six sessions to create lasting change. Some clients can achieve their goals in just one session. It is a very individual thing.
This helps clients to move forward and set personal and professional goals that give them the life they really want.
How does it work?
Coaching is conversational change. My role as a coach is to assist you to find your own solutions to problems or to achieve goals through conversation. This can take place at work, at home, or simply meeting in a coffee shop. It can also help deal with issues and challenges before they become major problems as well as enhancing performance.

“I saw Kate at one of the lowest parts of my life. Struggling to cope with losing my mum to cancer. I couldn't cope and was so unhappy that lead to a spiral of over eating and more unhappiness. Yet in one session Kate gave me my confidence back. I left the room feeling exhausted but by the next day, I was literally bouncing full of joy and able to cope with anything. Everyone noticed a difference in me. I even lost two stone in next two months but that was a bonus compared to having found my smile again. Would I recommend her? Yes yes yes.”
"Kate Guest is a fantastic motivational coach and I have benefited greatly from her expertise and passion for her work. I can highly recommend finding out more for yourself."
“Thank you, Kate, for another wonderful session. You get through to the heart of the matter when I thought there was no way through. :)”
“One of the best things I’ve done. I was having a few issues in life that needed ironing out. To be honest I had tried almost everything. And was slightly skeptical about seeing a hypnotherapy coach. It is by far the best decision I have made, I have come out a new woman with a bright future with tools given to me by Kate to continue my growth. I felt so welcome in Kate's company."
"Kate is brilliant at what she does and has time for you which makes the difference. I have already recommended Kate to many people and I hope that we cross paths again. Thank you for all your support."
"Thank you, Kate, for your advice and coaching. It’s really helping us to become more goal driven. It can be a challenge to think strategically about what we want in life with two young children so our sessions are really helping us focus and give us the strategies and tactics to go after them."
"Our family had experienced a recent traumatic event that took the form of a large scale fire which required us to flee our beds in the middle of the night. In the weeks following the fire, this resulted in extremely high levels of anxiety on my behalf, panic attacks at the smell of smoke, not sleeping properly increasing and dishabilitating levels of Obsessive Compulsive type behaviours. Kate waded in like a knightess in shining armour flying the banners of a positive, anxiety free future and she delivered exactly what she promised. Her friendly, relaxed approach made me feel comfortable and safe and able to relax enough to fully engage in her confident, knowledgeable and productive therapy. I am now looking forward to a future without unnecessary fear and far clearer more positive approach to dealing with problems. I am so much more relaxed and my anxieties have settled down to their previously normal levels. Thank you, Kate for giving me the ladder out of my personal black hole."
"I can recommend Kate Guest for stop smoking. Being a 40 a day smoker the financial cost was huge, the health cost, however, was even more compelling as a reason to quit. I contacted Kate for stop smoking hypnosis. She asked what number out of ten would I say I was with wanting to stop. A resounding 10/10 was the reply. “Okay,” she said, “we can proceed as I won’t take clients time or money at anything less than an 8/10.” The date was set conveniently for me on a Saturday morning. I had my last few cigarettes in a packet in the car along with my lighter. An amazing two hours later I left Kate’s office, went to the car, grabbed my cigarettes and lighter and hurled them in a bin! That was five months ago. Being smoke-free is great, not only is it healthier for my body, the money I’ve saved is taking me and the kids on holiday!"
There is ample on-site parking for my quiet, comfortable office. There is also a good bus route only 1 minute away.
