About me

What exactly is hypnotherapy?

Hypnotherapy is a gentle, natural way of finding relief from many symptoms. It is a safe and beneficial therapy used to effectively assist clients to resolve their problems. Please do contact me if you are hesitant about trying hypnotherapy or wish to find out exactly how hypnotherapy works and how it can help you. I am very happy to have an initial chat to discuss any questions or concerns you may have.

How can I help you?

~ Anxiety ~ Panic attacks ~ Fears and Phobias ~ Depression ~ Stress ~ Low Self-esteem and Confidence ~ Anger Management ~ Addictions ~ PTSD ~ Eating Disorders

These are just some of the issues that can be gently and naturally resolved for good.

Sometimes people cannot put their finger on what is troubling them. They just do not feel right but know that they need support and guidance. Please do call or email even if you are finding it difficult to describe how you are feeling. We can work through your next steps together, at your own pace.

To be faced with any type of emotional distress is hugely challenging and it can take a great deal of courage to seek help. Taking the first steps to finding the right therapist can often feel daunting. I remember so clearly the first time I made the decision to talk to someone about my anxiety and depression. I felt lost, confused and helpless. I didn't know where to begin, how to describe my symptoms, or what to expect from a therapist. It was the first time I had spoken to anyone in depth about what I was going through and how low I felt. My voice was heard, my feelings were validated and I finally felt completely safe. I am here to guide my clients from that very first tentative step, to hear their voices and to validate all that they are feeling.

My Practice : ktbHypnotherapy

I am fully qualified, registered and insured.

I believe that we all have within us the ability to make positive change in times of personal crisis. Embarking on a therapeutic journey creates a stronger sense of self and the increased confidence to embrace true personal growth. The therapy I offer is very much client-centred and personally tailored. I offer ongoing phone or email support in between sessions which is incredibly reassuring.

Analytical hypnotherapy is a psychotherapeutic technique used to nurture and improve emotional wellbeing, bringing a sense of empowerment and positivity. Together we will look at what is triggering any unhelpful, unwanted emotions. The deep sense of relaxation during a hypnotherapy session allows the subconscious mind to gently release these emotions, leading to relief from symptoms.

I draw on my studies and experience and apply them holistically to my own therapeutic practice. I am particularly interested in psychodynamic and humanistic methodologies where the client is empowered to investigate the workings of both the conscious and unconscious mind.

I see clients in my dedicated therapy room which is in a stunning converted barn situated in the Kent countryside. The space feels incredibly peaceful, safe and nurturing. I also work from the Holistic Centre just outside Canterbury City Centre.

I am easily accessible from Maidstone, Ashford, Faversham and Canterbury. Skype, Zoom or Facetime appointments can also be arranged if this is more convenient. I also offer concessions for those studying full time or on a low income.

Member organisations

Complementary and Natural Healthcare Council

The CNHC encompasses many types of alternative therapy, including hypnotherapy.

In order to be admitted to the register a practitioner must have studied to the National Occupational Standards for that profession/discipline, or have reached the equivalent of the National Occupational Standards through other relevant training or at least three years of experience and been assessed by their peers.

A practitioner must also have professional insurance and agree to abide by the CNHC Code of Conduct, Performance and Ethics.

The General Hypnotherapy Register

Hypnotherapists may become members of the General Hypnotherapy Register if they satisfy certain criteria with regard to both training and ongoing requirements as determined from time to time by the General Hypnotherapy Standards Council (GHSC).

Members are either registered at Practitioner status (which confirms that the GHR acknowledges their qualification to practice), or Affiliate status. Although Affiliate level registrants will have completed a sufficient number of training hours to equip them to commence seeing clients on a limited basis, the GHR does not acknowledge them to have yet been trained to full practitioner level.

All GHR Registered Practitioners are required to accept the published Code of Ethics and Complaints & Disciplinary Procedure.
