I believe that we all have within us the ability to make positive change in times of personal crisis. Embarking on a therapeutic journey creates a stronger sense of self and the increased confidence to embrace true personal growth. The therapy I offer is very much client-centred and personally tailored. Anxiety, depression, confidence issues, anger management, addiction, eating disorders, fears and phobias are just some of the issues that can be effectively treated using hypnotherapy.
To be faced with any type of emotional distress is hugely challenging and it can take a great deal of courage to seek help. Taking the first steps to finding the right therapist can feel daunting. I remember so clearly the first time I realised that I needed to talk to someone about my anxiety and depression. I felt lost, confused and helpless. Where to begin, how to describe symptoms, or what to expect from a therapist can often feel overwhelming. That first analytical hypnotherapy session ten years ago marked the beginning of my own journey back to health and happiness. I am here to guide my clients from that very first tentative step.
Analytical hypnotherapy is a psychotherapeutic technique used to nurture and improve emotional wellbeing, bringing a sense of empowerment and positivity. I draw on my studies and experience and apply them holistically to my own therapeutic practice. I am particularly interested in psychodynamic and humanistic methodologies where the client is empowered to investigate the workings of both the conscious and unconscious mind.
I see clients in my dedicated therapy room which is in a stunning converted barn situated in the Kent countryside. The space is incredibly peaceful and nurturing.
I am easily inaccessible from Maidstone, Ashford, Faversham and Canterbury. Skype or Facetime appointments can also be arranged if this more convenient. I also offer concessions for those studying full time or on a low income.

Complementary and Natural Healthcare Council
The CNHC encompasses many types of alternative therapy, including hypnotherapy.
In order to be admitted to the register a practitioner must have studied to the National Occupational Standards for that profession/discipline, or have reached the equivalent of the National Occupational Standards through other relevant training or at least three years of experience and been assessed by their peers.
A practitioner must also have professional insurance and agree to abide by the CNHC Code of Conduct, Performance and Ethics.
The General Hypnotherapy Register
Hypnotherapists may become members of the General Hypnotherapy Register if they satisfy certain criteria with regard to both training and ongoing requirements as determined from time to time by the General Hypnotherapy Standards Council (GHSC).
Members are either registered at Practitioner status (which confirms that the GHR acknowledges their qualification to practice), or Affiliate status. Although Affiliate level registrants will have completed a sufficient number of training hours to equip them to commence seeing clients on a limited basis, the GHR does not acknowledge them to have yet been trained to full practitioner level.
All GHR Registered Practitioners are required to accept the published Code of Ethics and Complaints & Disciplinary Procedure.
Accredited register membership
Accredited Register Scheme
The Accredited Register Scheme was set up in 2013 by the Department of Health (DoH) as a way to recognise organisations that hold voluntary registers which meet certain standards. These standards are set by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA).
This therapist has indicated that they belong to an Accredited Register.
