Hello, I'm Jane and I welcome you to Mind over Matter Scotland.
I'm your online, solution focused hypnotherapist specialising in anxiety, smoking cessation and weight reduction (including virtual gastric band) and by working together via Zoom it’s so easy to access my help wherever you live, with only a click of a button. All you need is a reliable internet connection and somewhere quiet and comfy to sit.
My clients attend their appointments from anywhere from their living room, their bed, their office and even sitting parked up in their car (I'm told it's a good option to escape the family and car seats are supportive!) and often comment on how much more relaxed they feel being able to choose their own place to enjoy their sessions, rather than having to sit in someone else's office.
It's reassuring to know that the hypnosis element of our sessions is equally, if not even more effective, in part because I've adapted some techniques for online work to keep our sessions interactive so that you're involved in the process. This, after all, is the way that hypnotherapists such as myself, continue to learn and practice with our teachers and mentors from all around the world.
Since starting in 2016 I’ve helped people from all over the Highlands and beyond. Now many of my new clients come to me via referrals from friends and family after I've helped them overcome their own issues and because I want to make this as easy as I can for you, I offer a free initial consultation with no obligation. This lets you talk about that thing that's been bothering you up till now and it gives you the opportunity to see how I can help you, with no obligation, even before you decide to book a session or package, so feel free to pick up the phone, pop me an email or message me on facebook to find out more. I'm here to help.
While you're here, I invite you, before you even decide to go ahead with hypnosis as the way to make the changes you're looking for, to take a look at my video on this page. There you can find out more about me and what I can offer you and then visit my website to download your free Take Ten to Relax audio. You can find it at: www.mindovermatterscotland.co.uk
Now we're in summer, it's the ideal time to address any lifestyle or health issues by contacting me, and with better weather and longer days it's easy for you to not only begin to make the changes you want but also to make more of the time you might have spent travelling to an appointment. I look forward to hearing from you.
Training, qualifications & experience
GHR and CNHC registered Hypnotherapist.
Complementary and Natural Healthcare Council
The CNHC encompasses many types of alternative therapy, including hypnotherapy.
In order to be admitted to the register a practitioner must have studied to the National Occupational Standards for that profession/discipline, or have reached the equivalent of the National Occupational Standards through other relevant training or at least three years of experience and been assessed by their peers.
A practitioner must also have professional insurance and agree to abide by the CNHC Code of Conduct, Performance and Ethics.
The General Hypnotherapy Register
Hypnotherapists may become members of the General Hypnotherapy Register if they satisfy certain criteria with regard to both training and ongoing requirements as determined from time to time by the General Hypnotherapy Standards Council (GHSC).
Members are either registered at Practitioner status (which confirms that the GHR acknowledges their qualification to practice), or Affiliate status. Although Affiliate level registrants will have completed a sufficient number of training hours to equip them to commence seeing clients on a limited basis, the GHR does not acknowledge them to have yet been trained to full practitioner level.
All GHR Registered Practitioners are required to accept the published Code of Ethics and Complaints & Disciplinary Procedure.
Accredited register membership
Accredited Register Scheme
The Accredited Register Scheme was set up in 2013 by the Department of Health (DoH) as a way to recognise organisations that hold voluntary registers which meet certain standards. These standards are set by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA).
This therapist has indicated that they belong to an Accredited Register.
