About me

CORONAVIRUS

Hello,

I hope you and your family are well. We are in the midst of an unprecedented situation due to the Coronovirus and all the restrictions placed upon all of us and our way of life at this time. Understandably, this uncertainty will be causing a huge increase in fear and anxiety. As we are being asked to 'socially distance' and 'self-isolate', I will be offering 'online' Hypnotherapy instead of 'face to face' therapy. This enables me to continue to help you during these challenging times. If you are feeling anxious right now, this is a good time to take control of your well-being rather than letting it snowball.

There are several online platforms we can use and they work very well. I look forward to being able to help you get through these difficult times.

I'm Dee and I have been a Complementary Therapist for over 21 years and a Clinical Hypnotherapist/psychotherapist for over 10 years. My speciality has been working in Cancer & Palliative Care. I am a qualified Solution Focused Hypnotherapist and work in Swanley, Kent easily accessible by bus, train and car. This type of hypnotherapy focuses on finding solutions, rather than dwelling too much in the past. It enables clients to move forward more quickly and achieve their goals.

"Hypnotherapy can help with"

  • depression
  • anxiety
  • migraines
  • IBS and stress related conditions
  • phobias
  • childbirth
  • relationship issues
  • confidence & self esteem
  • Goal achievement
  • needle phobia and pain management
  • smoking cessation and addictions

My background is in Complementary Therapies in Cancer & Palliative Care, working in the NHS for 10 years in an Outpatient Cancer Unit and a local hospice providing therapies such as Aromatherapy, Massage, Reflexology, Indian Head Massage and Reiki to cancer patients and their families from diagnosis to end stage disease. These therapies provided much needed 'TLC' at a very difficult time in peoples lives.

I also worked at The Harley Street Cancer Centre (2012-2017), where I introduced Clinical Hypnotherapy to patients to help cope with surgery, side-effects of chemotherapy and radiotherapy, needle phobia, pain management, hot flushes due to cancer treatment, anxiety & depression, panic attacks and moving forward after cancer.

Having given up working in the big smoke, I now work from my beautiful cabin in my garden offering a relaxing space for my clients. Have a look at my website and see if there's anything I can help you with.

"What to expect in your first session"

All treatments begin with an Initial Consultation, for information gathering, allowing time to discuss your reasons for seeking treatment and how hypnotherapy can help. More importantly, this session provides the opportunity for rapport building. It's the most important aspect of the therapeutic process to feel comfortable and at ease with your hypnotherapist. This session will help you to understand what hypnotherapy IS and what it IS NOT. It will also include an explanation of how the brain works and what we can do at a conscious level to help you to achieve your goals - YOUR treatment plan and GOALS!

It gives you the opportunity to find out how 'Solution Focused Hypnotherapy' works and how I can help you. The initial consultation does not involve trance work but gives you the chance to ask questions and decide whether hypnotherapy is right for you.

Testimonials

"Dee is a warm, patient therapist that will spend lots of time with her clients to understand what it is her clients have come to see her for. She will offer and find coping mechanisms for each individual client she works with. I would recommend Dee to anyone as she instantly puts you at ease and makes you feel calm"

"I decided to try hypno-birthing for my first baby as I was anxious about the process of labour. I feel so fortunate to have been recommended Dee. Over 5 sessions, we talked about how I felt physically and emotionally which I found really helpful. Each session included a hypnosis CD which I was able to listen to and practise at home. Dee helped me talk about the birth I wanted, but also prepared me for the reality of labour and that my plans might change and how to cope with this and remain calm. Dee was very realistic and supportive and I felt prepared for the birth when my sessions had finished. I can't thank Dee enough for her support and guidance"

"Dee is both professional and passionate in all aspects of her work. She makes me feel relaxed and comfortable as soon as I arrive. Her treatment room is amazing. It is warm and cozy in winter, yet cool and airy in summer. I have had Aromatherapy and Hypnotherapy, both of which has changed my life in a hugely positive way. I have regular Aromatherapy Massage that help keep me relaxed and calm. Hypnotherapy has helped with both anxiety and fear of flying phobia. This allowed me to fly for the first time in 20 years. I would highly recommend Dee to anyone who feels they need a bit of help in life, or who just fancies being pampered"

"Hypnotherapy has changed my life. It's not what I expected it to be. Dee has made the experience enlightening and engaging. Dee's knowledge and kind approach helps to make the experience much more comfortable and gave me confidence in the therapy and that it was right for me. The person I was three months age, stressed, anxious and under confident, is unrecognisable and I have Dee and her support to thank. She will work with you and give you the tools and advice needed to empower you to become the best version of you. For anyone who is serious about changing their life, Dee should be your first port of call. Thank you Dee!"
