About me

Hello I'm Caroline Evans and I'm a Solution Focused Hypnotherapist offering positive psychotherapy and clinical hypnosis. Helping you to take control of your life and focusing on who and where you want to be.

Hypnotherapy can help you with a range of conditions

  • Reducing anxiety and stress
  • Improving sleep
  • Gaining confidence
  • Improving stress related conditions
  • Establishing positive goals
  • Weight management
  • Overcoming fears and phobias
  • Smoking cessation

You can feel safe and assured that you don’t have to dwell on past traumas or experiences in order to feel better. Although I acknowledge present problems and past causes, I predominantly explore your current resources and future hopes, helping you to look forward and use your own strengths to feel calmer, happier and more confident to achieve your goals.

It’s a natural and gentle way to help overcome all kinds of emotional and stressful issues. Helping you to focus on solutions and how and where you want to be, rather than talking or dwelling on the past. Using practical, modern and well researched strategies to help you make significant and positive changes in your life.

I know it can be daunting when deciding to take that first step to make some changes in your life. But rest assured, at our Initial Consultation I will explain in full how Solution Focused Hypnotherapy can help you and we'll look at what you want to a achieve.

This usually lasts for approximately 45 minutes to 1 hour. I’ll explain to you how the mind works, including our thought processes, why we do what we do and how hypnotherapy will be used to help. We will discuss what happens during trance and I’ll make sure to answer any questions you may have. I’ll also give you a free relaxation CD or MP3 download to listen to.

The following sessions will last for approximately 50 minutes to an hour. We’ll begin each session by talking together to identify a way forward and review your progress and your goals, giving the session a clear solution focus. You’ll then relax in a comfortable chair or on the couch and I’ll talk to you and gently guide you into a state of focused attention to help you in the process of making beneficial changes to achieve your preferred future.

All sessions are positive, respectful and confidential.

Further information

Solution Focused Hypnotherapy is a highly modern and effective technique combining a range of therapies including Solution Focused Brief Therapy (SFBT), Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT), Neurolinguistic Programming (NLP), Clinical Hypnotherapy and Psychotherapy.  It utilises trance to achieve a state of ‘focused attention’ that makes your mind more responsive to beneficial suggestions. Trance, you may be surprised to learn is a process that we experience several times a day. Have you ever driven along a familiar route and not remembered parts of the journey?

Clinical Hypnotherapy is not something that can be done to you as comically portrayed by entertainers and the media. A professional Clinical Hypnotherapist cannot make a person do anything they do not want to. You cannot get stuck in trance, you are fully in control and can leave the state whenever you wish. Hypnosis has been used for hundreds of years and using modern developments in neuroscience we understand how Solution Focused Hypnotherapy can help us.

Solution Focused Hypnotherapy is a collaborative process and working together it can reduce the symptoms of anxiety, stress and depression. It can increase your motivation and confidence, improve sleep, help manage weight, deal with phobias and help you stop smoking. We all have the ability to change, if we are motivated. Change happens if you are prepared to take the steps to allow it to happen.

It is my belief that therapy should produce the results we want without the pain and suffering of past traumas. I love the science that underpins the therapy, which helps my clients to feel safe and comfortable. I love working together with my clients and helping them to achieve their goals in life, increasing their self-esteem and witnessing them feeling more in control and calm about the future. It’s also enjoyable, relaxing and fun. The only side effects are a positive attitude, enjoyment of life, confidence and happiness.
