About me

I am a Solution Focused Hypnotherapist and registered Paediatric Nurse by background with over 10 years of experience working within the NHS.

I became interested in hypnotherapy due to receiving hypnotherapy myself for anxiety. It was through experiencing the benefits of hypnotherapy that I developed a personal interest in this area. My aim is to use the knowledge, skills and experience I have gained myself to help others who may be facing similar challenges.  My nursing background provides an understanding of different conditions and treatments, mental health and complimentary therapies.

I trained at the accredited Clifton Practice for Hypnotherapy Training in Bristol, where I received a Diploma in Solution Focused Hypnotherapy (DSFH) and a Hypnotherapy in Practice Diploma from the National Council for Hypnotherapy.

I established Iona Wellbeing in 2022 which offers Solution Focused Hypnotherapy and Psychotherapy to adults and children.

If you are unsure whether hypnotherapy would be suitable for you or if you would like some further information, please contact me here or tel: 07561 074273

Why Solution Focused Hypnotherapy?

Solution Focused Hypnotherapy (SFH) is a combination of safe, well-researched, medically recognised therapeutic techniques with the added benefit of hypnosis. A powerful therapeutic approach, Solution Focused Hypnotherapy focuses on your own skills and resources to encourage motivation and optimism to overcome any challenges and bring about positive change. There is less focus on the problem or on past events, instead attention centres around the present moment, self-empowerment and what you would like to achieve in the future. The client and the therapist work together to look at positive changes that can be adopted. SFH incorporates a combination of elements of talking therapy, Neuro-Linguistic Therapy (NLP), Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT) and Solution Focused Brief Therapy (SFBT), followed by hypnosis to consolidate the thinking processes to facilitate change

What to expect in your first session-

The initial consultation is a free 30-45 minute session to discuss what you would like help with, what you would like to achieve and whether hypnotherapy would be suitable for you. There is a brief explanation of the brain which includes why we can feel anxious and low with an explanation of how hypnotherapy can help with different issues.

You will be given a recording of guided relaxation hypnosis for you to listen to in your own time in between sessions.

Client Testimonials:

‘Thank you for all you’ve done to help me. You’ve been absolutely great, and a real lifeline when I needed it most. You’ve given me so much support and encouragement and I’m truly thankful for the opportunity to experience hypnotherapy with you.’ - Chloe, Hampshire.

'Camilla from Iona Wellbeing has seen my 11 year old daughter, Sophie, for anxiety issues for the past 4 months.  Camilla has a lovely manner which Sophie increasingly bonds with and she has started to look forward to the weekly sessions.  I have noticed improvements in Sophie’s ability to deal with everyday problems and she seems calmer and more relaxed with less outbursts. Thank you Camilla and we look forward to continuing the journey.' - Sarah, Gloucestershire.

'Anxiety and constant worry have been always limiting my life and making it quite miserable… I can't believe how helpful hypnotherapy with Iona Wellbeing turned out to be, it taught me to start approaching life with calmness and reasoning instead of that instant panic I used to feel when bad news and worries came onto me. I highly recommend it to everyone'. - Dorothy, Bristol.
