About me

I'm a Solution Focused Hypnotherapist practicing in East/Central Bristol.

I help people with problems arising from Anxiety, fear, anger and depression. Together we can learn about the stresses of your life and find ways to become less reactive and more responsive.

Working closely in therapy we'll find strategies to leave behind past problems and focus on growing into the real you.

Our work will include looking at the brain and understanding thought patterns more clearly, examining what a better life looks like and using the power of Hypnosis to create positive change.

Background

I have worked in senior roles in the corporate world and as a creative in the music industry. I have a passion for writing and so have always been extremely interested in the creative process. As such I have always been active in following the latest research into the workings of the mind.

I have been practicing mindfulness, and other meditation techniques, for several years and I enjoy bringing these ideas and beneficial practices into the therapy room. I volunteer with a charity, the Mindful Life, that offers mindfulness training for Carers.

I have first hand experience of neurodiversity and caring, being a father to two wonderful children with ASC and ADHD.

Training, qualifications & experience

I am fortunate to have been trained by David Newton of Clifton Practice Hypnotherapy Training, a recognised Centre of Excellence for Hypnotherapy which was awarded Gold Standard in 2006. It was here that I gained my Diploma in Solution Focussed Hypnotherapy (DSFH) in 2015.

I am also a trained mindfulness practitioner.

I have extended CRB check status to enable me to work with children and teenagers.

I continue to study, attend lectures and regular supervision to keep up-to-date of any advancements in the field.

The main aim of the AfSFH is to spread awareness of the benefits of Solution Focused Hypnotherapy. Its secondary aim is to support Hypnotherapists in their businesses by encouraging good practice and self-care.
