Sally Parmar RGN RM SQHP Anxiety, Stress, Phobias, Women's Health Issues.
Thank you for reading my profile. I am a qualified nurse, with a Diploma in Clinical Hypnotherapy and Psychotherapy, and am a Senior Hypnotherapist with the General Hypnotherapy Standards Council (GHR). Unlike many hypnotherapists, I have a genuine clinical background, of nearly 40 years in nursing - with the last 26 years years as a Practice Nurse.
I use an integrated approach to my work, drawing from my knowledge of both orthodox and complementary medicine, as I believe that what affects the body will eventually affect the mind, and visa versa. I also have qualifications in Aromatherapy and Acupuncture, and offer bespoke treatments - eg If a client presents with anxiety, I may also offer to use acupuncture points associated with anxiety and stress, and will often use my knowledge of the psychotherapeutic qualities of essential oils in conjunction with hypnotherapy. Or, for example I could utilise the acupuncture points for menopausal symptoms, pain, IBS etc alongside hypnotherapy for the presenting problem.
I have completed advanced training in Anxiety & Stress Management, Hypnotherapy for the Menopause, Psychosexual Hypnotherapy for Women, Mindfulness Instructor, KGH Hypnobirthing, EFT (Emotional Freedom Technique), and Auricular (ear) Acupuncture. I am currently completing The KORE diploma in Clinical Acupuncture and continue to update my professional development, believing in life-long learning.
I am married with two adult daughters, and have a range of hobbies. I am a member of Girlguiding, and run 3 units - Rainbows, Brownies and Guides. I also enjoy volunteering working with children and young people on a mental health therapy farm, teaching them how to care for and interact with a range of animals.

The General Hypnotherapy Register
Hypnotherapists may become members of the General Hypnotherapy Register if they satisfy certain criteria with regard to both training and ongoing requirements as determined from time to time by the General Hypnotherapy Standards Council (GHSC).
Members are either registered at Practitioner status (which confirms that the GHR acknowledges their qualification to practice), or Affiliate status. Although Affiliate level registrants will have completed a sufficient number of training hours to equip them to commence seeing clients on a limited basis, the GHR does not acknowledge them to have yet been trained to full practitioner level.
All GHR Registered Practitioners are required to accept the published Code of Ethics and Complaints & Disciplinary Procedure.
