About me

I am an Registered Nurse Hypnotherapist, Psychotherapist, and PICT Trauma and Abuse Therapist,  with over 38 years clinical experience in the NHS- 26 years of which have been spent working in a GP surgery. I am also a Registered Midwife, and as such have an interest in Women's Health issues.
I use an integrated approach to my work, drawing from my knowledge of both orthodox and complementary medicine. I hold a Diploma in Clinical Hypnotherapy and Psychotherapy, Diploma in PICT Trauma and Abuse Therapy,  and am a Senior Hypnotherapist with the General Hypnotherapy Standards Council (GHR).

I have completed advanced training in Anxiety & Stress Management, Hypnotherapy for the Menopause, Psychosexual Hypnotherapy for Women,  Mindfulness Instructor, KGH Hypnobirthing, EFT (Emotional Freedom Technique),  and Auricular (ear) Acupuncture. I am currently completing The KORE diploma in Clinical Acupuncture, and aim to offer combinations, in addition to individual therapies - hence for example I could utilise the acupuncture points for menopausal symptoms, pain, IBS etc alongside hypnotherapy for the presenting problem.

I am married with two adult daughters, and have a range of hobbies. I am a member of girlguiding, and run 3 units - Rainbows, Brownies and Guides.  I also enjoy volunteering working with children and young people on a mental health therapy farm, teaching them how to care for and interact with a range of animals.

The General Hypnotherapy Register

Hypnotherapists may become members of the General Hypnotherapy Register if they satisfy certain criteria with regard to both training and ongoing requirements as determined from time to time by the General Hypnotherapy Standards Council (GHSC).

Members are either registered at Practitioner status (which confirms that the GHR acknowledges their qualification to practice), or Affiliate status. Although Affiliate level registrants will have completed a sufficient number of training hours to equip them to commence seeing clients on a limited basis, the GHR does not acknowledge them to have yet been trained to full practitioner level.

All GHR Registered Practitioners are required to accept the published Code of Ethics and Complaints & Disciplinary Procedure.

Wheelchair user access

Wheelchair-accessible premises should have step-free access for wheelchair users and individuals who are unable to climb stairs. If a hypnotherapist's premises aren't step-free, they may offer alternative services such as telephone/web-based appointments, home visits, or meeting clients in different location, so you can choose the option that suits you best.

You can contact the hypnotherapist to discuss the options available.

Under the Equality Act 2010 service providers have a duty to make reasonable adjustments to ensure that individuals with disabilities can access their service. You can read more about reasonable adjustments to help you to access services on the CAB website.

Wheelchair user access

My therapy room is accessed via a well lit staircase, which unfortunately is not suitable for a stairlift.

Appointments by prior arrangement. Please leave an answerphone or text message, and I will get back to you - as my phone will be on silent mode if I am with a client.
