About me

I am an Registered Nurse Hypnotherapist, Psychotherapist, and PICT Trauma and Abuse Therapist,  with over 36 years clinical experience in the NHS- 25 years of which have been spent working in the GP surgery in Overseal near Swadlincote in the Heart of the National Forest. I am also a Registered Nurse and Midwife, and as such have an interest in Women's Health issues.

I use an integrated approach to my work, drawing from my knowledge of both orthodox and complementary medicine. I hold a Diploma in Clinical Hypnotherapy and Psychotherapy, Diploma in PICT Trauma and Abuse Therapy,  and am a Senior Hypnotherapist with the General Hypnotherapy Standards Council.

I have completed advanced training in Stress Management, Psychosexual Counselling for Women,  Mindfulness Instructor, KGH Hypnobirthing, EFT (emotional freedom technique), EMDR (eye movement desensitization and reprogramming) and Auricular (ear) Acupuncture.

The General Hypnotherapy Register

Hypnotherapists may become members of the General Hypnotherapy Register if they satisfy certain criteria with regard to both training and ongoing requirements as determined from time to time by the General Hypnotherapy Standards Council (GHSC).

Members are either registered at Practitioner status (which confirms that the GHR acknowledges their qualification to practice), or Affiliate status. Although Affiliate level registrants will have completed a sufficient number of training hours to equip them to commence seeing clients on a limited basis, the GHR does not acknowledge them to have yet been trained to full practitioner level.

All GHR Registered Practitioners are required to accept the published Code of Ethics and Complaints & Disciplinary Procedure.

I am fully insured, and a member of the General Hypnotherapy Register (GHR) of the General Hypnotherapy Standards Council.

I am also a member of the Association of Meridian Energy Therapists (AMT) as an EFT practitioner, and a memebr of the Royal college of Nursing (RCN).

Wheelchair user access

Wheelchair-accessible premises should have step-free access for wheelchair users and individuals who are unable to climb stairs.
