About me

Free 15 min phone consultation (or one hour face-to-face for adults seeking help for their children).

Internalized beliefs about ourselves can be life-limiting - affecting our thoughts, feelings and ultimately our behaviour. Luckily, our brains are built for plasticity and change.

My mission is to demystify hypnotic trance (really just focused attention) and to promote the scientific evidence which supports the success of hypnotherapy, CBT and NLP techniques. I am particularly focused on anxiety issues including those associated with menopause.

My practice involves leading clients into a relaxing, natural state of trance where their mind is open to positive suggestion. This is effective in creating change at a subconscious level which can lead to positive behavioural  transformation.  With hypnotherapy, the client is in control at all times and they usually find it a deeply relaxing experience.

I also employ techniques from Neuro-Linguistic-Programming and Cognitive Behavioural Therapy to tailor a course of therapy (usually 3-6 sessions) to a client’s needs.

About me

I first discovered the power of hypnotherapy for after an unbelievably positive experience hypnobirthing my second child (whilst still dealing with the trauma of a difficult birth with my first). This led me to explore the science behind how hypnotherapy works and to gain my qualifications.

Before having children, I was a consumer insight strategist, so I’ve always been drawn to understanding human motivation and behaviour. This also helped me in character development for my writing (my YA debut won The Times Prize for Children’s Fiction).  I also have a B.A. Hons degree in Economics and a PGCE (secondary education).

I grew up on a council estate on benefits, one of nine children. I believe that mindset is everything when it comes to achieving life goals, but we all need that bit of help – with goal setting, or an ego boost or reframing any negative beliefs that we have of ourselves that are stopping us (or our children) from getting where we want to.

Currently, I am operating from the Counselling Space in Aberdeen.   I also consider in-home client visits or appointments in my cosy front room near Drumoak.

Wheelchair user access

Wheelchair-accessible premises should have step-free access for wheelchair users and individuals who are unable to climb stairs. If a Hypnotherapist's premises aren't step-free, they may offer alternative services such as telephone/web-based appointments, home visits, or meeting clients in different location, so you can choose the option that suits you best.

You can contact the Hypnotherapist to discuss the options available.
