About me

If you are looking for a professional and trusted, private hypnotherapy service, offering hypnosis in Sheffield & across South Yorkshire, for both children and adults, you are in the right place. I prefer to work with those who are feeling really stuck, fed up, lost or anxious with life. Additionally I work with people who would like to look into their past lives to see why they may be drawn into repeating stuck damaging patterns in this life.

I am an experienced & relaxed hypnotherapist (I run a full time busy practice) with a unique combination of NLP, hypnosis, past life regression and Psy-tap that is fantastic at helping hundreds of people every year to deal with, breakthrough and overcome specific things in their lives, just like you can do too.

I help women, men and children who feel confused, curious, lost, stuck or have confidence issues or behaviours that others are saying they're concerned about. My specialism is helping you to free yourself from your anxiety & panic, fears and phobias to gain a powerfully different inspired healthy mindset, to feel safe, comfortable, natural and confident within yourself again... or perhaps for the first time truly using the depth of hypnotherapy to access a deeper understanding and healing of yourself.

Why trust me?

You can trust me because of my full practice, my qualifications and testimonials... but actually you can trust me to empower you to regain your freedom, independence and passion for life because I went through crippling anxiety myself and overcame it completely 100%. I am now quite spiritual and at peace in my life.

I was once agoraphobic and anxious in my life, in fact throughout childhood I couldn't go to school for ages, and my teens / early adulthood were tremendously hard, believe it or not - people often now nearly fall off their chair when I tell them! I can help you to come back to life, even if it's been a long time since you felt that. Even if you're not even sure if you can feel like that anymore. I believe you can. Let me help you to believe it once more too.

It is a job that I feel so overwhelmingly happy to have a gift at doing... but I've worked at it.

I've travelled and studied with the likes of Karl Smith & Kevin Laye; Tony Stockwell (Spiritual psychic medium), and past life regression teacher John Richardson. My techniques and tools to remove confusion and fear and it's limiting effects are truly a unique mixture of professional and personal experience. They get life changing results over and over again and I appreciate each day working with people from all walks of life, some privately in their homes, some in my treatment space, from children with anxiety, panic attacks and school phobia to working mums or dads who can no longer face work, may have tummy troubles, IBS or fear of leaving the house, or retirees who've lost their confident sparkle through health problems, fears or phobias to turn their lives around.

Working together, we can take you from 'just surviving', to 'thriving'. I will help you to stun yourself at what you can feel and achieve within a few months.

I can help you or your loved ones experience total behavioural change efficiently and feel better all round, discreetly and quite rapidly using the cutting edge tools and techniques I have travelled extensively to train in. I would really like to find out more about you and what you would like to work on changing. Do you feel like reaching out now and saying hello?

Sessions with Shauna

Sessions are an hour long and take place in my relaxing, peaceful therapy space*... it's just fifteen minutes from the city centre and is a lovely place of peace and comfort from a busy modern world. Parking is available right outside, and the location is nestled right next to the Sheaf river in a calming residential setting. The room has comfy relaxed seating and a comfy bed, with luxurious fleecy blankets and gentle lighting. Many people like the peace & tranquillity of lit candles flickering gently in the background of their sessions (this is an optional in winter, some people prefer the lighting provided). There is a warm welcoming feeling of peace and space so you can simply focus on what really matters... you.

*If you need me to come to your home or zoom online, I provide this service. Due to the travel involved, it is charged as a double session so consider this before making a decision that suits you.  I offer an agoraphobia breakthrough programme also, please get in touch for a chat to find out more about how this works out really well for people with acute anxiety.

Often, we carry so much in life, we hardly realise how much strain and stress we are under...

My aim is working with you

I aim to work with you to remove as much of the negative self talk as possible, and limit distractions and give you some time off, someone to listen / talk with who 'gets it', a good space and most importantly, the tools to develop the 'you' you want to be.

There is no pressure here. With a range of powerful therapeutic tools for exploring areas you wish to explore and the latest evidenced hypnosis techniques to relax and focus the mind for change, you can really enjoy yourself at Hypnotherapy In Sheffield as you feel better and stronger with each session!

Training, qualifications & experience

I have been working in the field of behavioural therapy since 2004 and am passionate about behaviour, what creates that magic that leads to change and how much a persons life can change because of those key moments or 'inspirations'.

I also love working with children and young people and so specialised for several years in working with marginalised children, safeguarding and young peoples’ work such as working with those who have Special Educational Needs or Disabilities (SEND) and young people experiencing homelessness and low confidence.
I am extremely grateful that I had the opportunity to work over six years with over a thousand young people with issues such as low self confidence, mistrust of professionals, abuse, self harm, anxiety and panic, aggression, addiction, school / college non attendance, and depression amongst many others. It was incredibly rewarding work and honed my skills in assessing and empowering those who may feel 'stuck', 'out of control' or 'lost' to become happy, confident and comfortable once more in their life.

After this I worked for a children and young people empowerment project with young carers, whilst setting up Hypnotherapy In Sheffield. During this role, we lobbied the government for a change in the law to protect these young people and their rights as carers, saying the Local Area Council should give them a young persons care assessment and support around caring duties that may impact on school & health etc (which we were so happy to find was granted in 2013, within the brand new Children and Families Act 2014).

As I am very passionate about empowerment work and believe everybody should be given the tools to become the best, happiest version of themselves they can be, I went on to study techniques and tools that could add even more to this work, successfully receiving my Diploma in Hypnotherapy, Diploma in Neuro Linguistic Programming (NLP) & Hypnotic Coaching (HC) (by the Academy of Advanced Changework) and Hypnotherapy Practitioners’ Diploma (externally certified by the NCFE/NCH) back in 2011.

By 2013 I had a busy, thriving practice and am so grateful for the word of mouth recommendations people have given for me, it's an absolute joy to do this amazing work with people who are simply ready to feel better in their lives again.

My work grew to become a full-time busy practice within just 2 years (which I am so proud and in awe of!) and has since been featured in magazines, and NHS publications across Yorkshire, showing the success of my techniques and the happiness of my clients in selecting myself here at Hypnotherapy In Sheffield. I can barely believe I get to do something I love doing so much as my full time profession.

I am happy to be contacted directly by parents, grandparents, schools and colleges for specific work with students and pupils at risk of exclusion. This could be from being affected by mental health issues, behavioural issues or who are needing tailored psychological support around a certain identified need.

I also have a CIPD qualification in Training Practice which is great because it helps me to deliver high value training packages and courses for businesses to train staff in looking after their mental health and wellbeing better (packages such as Stress Management, Motivate! Time2Think and more). I work with many entrepreneurs, solopreneurs and small business owners as well as leaders and senior managers also using my tailored 'hypnomentoring' which involves coaching, mentoring and hypnosis to get the best possible gains. Do you run your own business and need to take it up to the next level but your mindset is limiting you or are thinking about business mentoring or business coaching to define how to maximise your business's potential?

Overall I personally am pretty kind and smiley, enthusiastic and passionate about the mind and it's tricks - and I really enjoy working with people who 'feel something is just not 'right' within themselves' or that something is just not as good as it could be within them, whether it's stress, work/ life pressure, ill health, lack of confidence, phobias, addictions, relationship breakdown or move on or trauma.

I am also a keen spiritual healer. I offer spiritual development sessions to anyone interested in developing their abilities in this way, spiritual hypnotherapy, and am a reiki master who does reiki healing treatments and past life regressions. I teach spiritual development and reiki and run a large reiki healing share group called the Shining Light Circle, based in Sheffield.

If that sounds like you, please get in touch today in confidence! Warmest regards.
