About me

Hi there, I'm Lynda - a fully qualified Solution Focused Hypnotherapist based in Otley, West Yorkshire. I love working with children and adults to help them overcome a range of anxiety and stress-related symptoms and achieve their goals.

I discovered Solution Focused Hypnotherapy during a time of great stress and anxiety in my own life (work and relationship) and was struggling keep my head above water. I felt like I was just existing and I wanted to live again. SFH helped me to find my sparkle again. It helped me manage the anxiety and get the real me back! This inspired me to want to help others who are suffering in the way that I did; this passion drives me to do everything I can to help clients feel the best they can, to regain their zest for life and to help them feel positive about their future.

Solution Focused Hypnotherapy focuses on finding solutions to help people move forward, rather than dwelling on the past. I have successfully worked with clients suffering from a range of issues from General Anxiety, Panic Attacks, Insomnia, Depression, Pain Management, Irritable Bowel Syndrome and OCD to Weight Management, Phobias, those wishing to Stopping Smoking/Vaping and also those wanting to improve their Sporting Performance. I work with clients both face to face and online.

We begin with an Initial Consultation where I ask questions such as 'How can we help you?' and 'What would you like to achieve by having these sessions?' This is the only opportunity to talk about the past, about what brought you to where you are today. We discuss a brief medical history and any symptoms you may be suffering with which allows me to tailor future sessions to your needs.

I then explain how our brain works in relation to the issue you are seeking help with; giving you a greater understanding of how your mind works, why you are feeling the way that you are, and how we can help you to move forward. We would then discuss and agree on how many sessions you may need as this varies from client to client.

You will receive a free relaxation download or CD (depending on your preference) which helps to consolidate the work we do together and encourages regular sleeping patterns.

Part of our sessions, after the Initial Consultation, will include hypnosis which is the most natural thing in the world. We go into a trance-state several times a day where we may 'zone out' and our mind wanders. We replicate this state through deep relaxation and during this time we have access to the subconscious mind where we encourage positive changes which will benefit you.

Many of my clients come to me through recommendations, referred to me by previous clients which I am incredibly proud of. Here an example of a recent testimonial from my website:

"Lynda has a warm, calm, kind and reassuring but professional approach. since beginning my sessions I now understand how my mind works better and can make sense of my difficulties - I've had a few 'light bulb moments!' Our sessions focus me on the positives which help me to keep focused all week. I love my sessions, it's real 'me' time. My sleep has improved so much since my sessions with Lynda, I wish I'd have found this support sooner, it's been brilliant!"

Get in touch via email or a phone call to book an Initial Consultation. I offer a free 10 minute telephone call for you to see whether you think Solution-Focused Hypnotherapy could help you with no obligation to book future sessions.

I am fully insured and fully-DBS checked, allowing me to work with children, young people and adults alike. I am registered with the National Council for Hypnotherapy, The Association for Solution Focused Hypnotherapists and the Complimentary National Healthcare Council and follow their strict codes of conduct and ethics.

I trained and qualified as a Clinical Hypnotherapist and Psychotherapist with the Clifton Practice, achieving a Gold Standard Diploma in Hypnotherapy and Psychotherapy (DHP).

I undertake regular CPD (continued professional development) and have monthly meetings with my supervisor to ensure my practice uses the latest research in neuroscience to help you achieve your goals.
