About me
I am an award winning Advanced Consultant Clinical Hypnotherapist. I have a first class (hons) degree in clinical Hypnotherapy, I am an academic researcher in hypnosis, I have an Advanced Clinical Hypnotherapy Diploma, Cognitive Behavioural Hypnotherapy Diploma, Diploma in Psychotherapy and have presented at the International UK Hypnosis Convention in London. I am also a member of the Royal society of Medicine, and a lecturer in Dental Hypnosis at University College London, the Eastmans.
My area of specialist expertise is dental fear and anxiety- but I am also very experienced in all areas of anxiety, fears and phobias, IBS, Tinnitus and sports mental coaching
My understanding of hypnosis and therapy is evidence based, meaning I look for the scientific evidence behind all that is written and taught with regards to hypnosis. To this end- I do not offer past life regression therapy- as there is no evidence to support its claims. I utilise Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), CBT and Mindfulness along side Hypnotherapy. (all are scientifically evidence based in research).
Don't let the word 'hypnosis' give you any hesitancy or worry about being put into a trance and someone "by-passing your conscious mind to talk to your unconscious mind". This is pure fallacy and a myth perpetuated by an approach to hypnotherapy that is not scientifically approved or evidence based. It can lead to all the fears about someone 'controlling you' and it is also totally unhelpful as it suggests that you do not have to take any part of the process of change that you want- as "your unconscious mind does it for you". That doesn't happen!. By understanding hypnosis as an everyday process that is similar to daydreaming- that you can easily do for yourself, with the guidance of a therapist. By being in control of your own hypnosis experience and wanting to and focusing on, the changes that you want to make- you will succeed!. It is not about lying down and being lulled by soft music and a dreamy voice- that will successfully send you to sleep, which is a good thing for insomnia, but will be absolutely useless for any other issues you may have.
Hypnosis is a very effective way for you to make the changes that you want to make in your life. It works by you adopting a hypnotic mindset and challenging your negative self belief. At our initial session, I explain and educate you as to what hypnosis is and is not. Hypnosis is collaborative. It is not something done to you. As I have said, it is not about you being 'put into a trance to enable communication with your subconscious mind'. that understanding of hypnosis is a myth and totally unsubstantiated or accepted by any academic or medical field. It is unhelpful as it proposes that you are a passive recipient and non responsible for any affect or behavioural change that you might which to make.
Only when we take charge of our actions can we make lasting change. Should you wish to benefit from hypnosis, you in effect hypnotise yourself, with suggestions offered to guide you into your own hypnosis experience. I guide you on your own experience that then enable you to continue to practice self hypnosis at home for more profound effectiveness. The more you want to experience the phenomena of hypnosis for therapeutic change, the more effective it becomes. When you close your eyes and focus inwardly, something extraordinary happens to both the brain and the mind. You will be able to discover that you are capable of much more than you realise. The purpose of hypnosis is to create and enable the exploration of new awareness's and new possibilities, and to make the changes that you want.
I understand that our modern lives are stressful, and continual stress affects the immune system through emotional and/or behavioural manifestations such as fear, anxiety, tension, sadness, anger. Or maybe there are areas in your life that you feel are out of control, that cause you anxiety, or maybe there is stress in your relationships or confidence issues in your career.
You can change or stop lifelong habits NOW.
Life doesn’t have to be a struggle. A lot of people think that they have to fight or struggle to succeed, but in reality you have to change your mind to change your life. You have to free yourself from limiting beliefs. If your life is affected by any of the following issues, then hypnosis can help you to choose to manage IBS, tinnitus, quit smoking, relieve stress, manage anxiety and panic attacks, lose weight, deal with traumas and phobias, and build self -confidence. To motivate yourself to achieve a personal goal, whether it is running a marathon, changing eating habits for a healthier life, manage public speaking with confidence or pain management for child -birth - hypnotherapy can help you realise those goals.
I have a lot experience helping young people overcome anxiety, low self esteem and self harming.
Clinical Hypnotherapy is a powerful therapeutic practice which allows you to access a focused state of concentration, which assists you to make the behavioural changes you want, resulting in increased feelings of profound calmness , confidence and positive attitude to achieve success, during and after the sessions.
Hypnotherapy is an investment in your potential – the life improvements, personal growth and success that you will be able to achieve will exponentially outweigh your initial outlay of time and money.
Through hypnosis, I can offer you the best therapeutic tools to achieve improved health and well-being. I am a consultant cognitive behavioural clinical hypnotherapist and well qualified in this area of extremely effective therapy. There is a great deal of very good robust scientific evidence to support the effectiveness of hypnosis particularly when it is used with CBT, in the treatment of anxiety fears and phobias, pain relief and IBS.
I am especially involved in all areas of dental anxiety and phobia. As I also work in a dental practice, you would be able to access a more stress free dental experience, gradually- leading you to be able to comfortably manage any dental visit or treatment that you may need. I have worked in the dental profession for more than 40 years
You are welcome to contact me should you wish to discuss further how I can help you

If you are treated by the medical or dental profession - you would want them to be ethically and evidenced based practitioners, and hypnotherapy should be the same!
Areas of hypnotherapy I deal with
info Information about health conditions (*)
Hypnotherapy can enhance the well-being of individuals diagnosed with serious medical conditions, but should not take the place of medical treatment and advice. If you have been diagnosed with - or suspect you may have - any of these conditions, please speak to your doctor before starting hypnotherapy.
Other areas of hypnotherapy I deal with
- Smoking Cessation. I offer a 5 session package for Stopping Smoking. There is NO evidence at all to say that a one -off session works. It does not. Smoking is a habit and needs to be treated as such. Therefore there are stages to the process for it to work, and these are managed over 5 sessions.
( Research paper, "Hypnosis and Smoking Cessation: The State of the Science". S.J.Lynn and J.P.Green)
Stop Smoking 5 sessions £ 280
- Dental fear
- Anxiety in young people
Hypnotherapy integrates biology and psychology to restore the mind/body balance by accessing the client's own inner resources for healing and change. CBT Hypnotherapy utilises the essence of CBT and enhances the behavioural change with hypnosis and self- hypnosis.
Please note: I do not offer past life regression or NLP.
