Linda Bromage (BSc Hons Hypnosis) Consultant Clinical Hypnotherapist
Hypnosis is a very effective way for you to make the changes that you want to make in your life. It works- but not by the hypnotist 'putting you under' but by you learning and believing self hypnosis and challenging your negative self beliefs.
Hypnosis is not a magical panacea that fixes things. I do not hypnotise you- I guide your experience and you then continue to practice for effectiveness. It is not the 'trance' that many hypnotherapists talk about. It is what you learn to do for yourself- to retrain your beliefs and behaviours. Anyone can be hypnotised if that is what they want- and the more you want to experience the phenomena the more effective it becomes.
Hypnosis is the power of focus. When you close your eyes and focus, something extraordinary happens to both the brain and the mind. The rigid boundaries of perception that have held you in place begin to soften. Reality becomes less real and more negotiable. In hypnosis you discover that you are capable of much more than you consciously realise. The purpose of hypnosis is to create and enable the exploration of new awarenesses and new possibilities, and to make the changes that you want.
I am one of very few Hypnotherapists with a first class honours degree in Clinical Hypnotherapy, and have been awarded a PhD Scholarship to further research in Hypnosis from Surrey University. This is the first of its kind in this country. I am a member of the British Society of Experimental and Clinical Hypnosis (BSECH) and a registered dental professional with the GDC.
I have completed a diploma in Scientific Evidence Based Cognitive Behavioural Hypnotherapy
I am an advanced therapist from the Anglo European College of Therapeutic Hypnosis
I teach Hypnosis to dental students and graduates and have a Diploma in Psychotherapy.
My understanding of hypnosis and therapy is evidence based; that is, I look for the scientific evidence behind all that is written and taught with regards to hypnosis.I therefore do not offer past life regression, NLP or any other "branded" or "trademarked" methods. It would be unethical and unprofessional of me to claim to be able to treat and charge a fee for, any issue with Past Life Regression- it is the stuff of myths and fallacy.
Nor do i make the unsubstantiated claim of being able to 'by pass you conscious mind and speak to your unconscious mind'- again this is the hearsay and mythical belief of hypnosis that is perpetuated by many trainers. If you are treated by the medical or dental profession- you would want them to be ethically and evidenced based practitioners, and hypnotherapy should be the same.
There is a great deal of very good robust scientific evidence to support the effectiveness of hypnosis particularly when it is used with CBT, in the treatment of anxiety fears and phobias, pain relief and IBS. I am a consultant cognitive behavioural clinical hypnotherapist and well qualified in this area of extremely effective therapy.
Among my specialities is dental fear and working with anxiety in young people.
Are there areas in your life that you feel are out of control? That cause you anxiety? Or maybe there is stress in your relationships or confidence issues in your career?
Hypnosis offers the best therapeutic tool to achieve improved health and well-being. Hypnotherapy integrates biology and psychology to restore the mind/body balance by accessing the client's own inner resources for healing and change. CBT Hypnotherapy utilises the essence of CBT and enhances the behavioural change with hypnosis and self- hypnosis.
Our modern lives are stressful, and continual stress affects the immune system through emotional and/or behavioural manifestations such as fear, anxiety, tension, sadness, anger.
I do not offer here any client recommendations as any therapy between myself and my client is strictly confidential.
