About me

Thank you for visiting my profile.  My name is Jo and I am a fully qualified clinical and solution focused hypnotherapist based at Railway House in Meltham between Huddersfield & Holmfirth.

If you need help for anxiety, stress, panic attacks, depression & low moods, lack of confidence & self-esteem, phobias, insomnia and OCD, I can help you to overcome these issues using both Solution Focused Hypnotherapy and NLP (neuro linguistic programming).

Solution Focused Hypnotherapy is a type of ‘talking therapy’, that combines the use of psychotherapy with hypnosis.  It focuses on helping you to find solutions for the present and future rather than the past. It is a totally positive therapy that guides you as you look ahead, helps you to change your mind-set and enables you to take control and move forward with your life confidently and positively.

In addition, I help clients to stop smoking and other dependencies including alcohol, drugs as well as gambling addictions and issues with food.  I will work with you to help you to recognize your triggers, change certain behaviours and lower withdrawal symptoms.  I also work with relatives of addicts to help to lessen their own anxiety & stress.

I offer a free 'no obligation' Initial Consultation where we can talk in more detail about your issues and how I can help.  This first session also gives you the opportunity to ensure that you would like to work with me on your treatment.

The Initial Consultation normally takes around 1 hour.  During the Initial Consultation, I will need to ask you for more information, brief personal and medical details. as well as the reason that you are looking at hypnotherapy for your condition and how we can help you.  I will then explain how the brain works, why you suffer in the way that you do and what we can do about it.  I will give you a 30 minute hypnotherapy relaxation track - either MP3 or CD, to take away with you.

Subsequent sessions are 1 hour and you will normally need between 6 and 12 sessions for most issues.  The exceptions are stopping smoking which is a two hour session only & phobia treatment which is four weekly sessions).  Ideally sessions are once a week.

At each of the sessions, we will talk about the good things you have done in the week prior to the session, I will explain again about how the brain works in relation to your problem.  I will then use trance so we have access to the subconscious mind.  This is a process that produces increased awareness of the subconscious mind, heightened sense of suggestibility, and deep relaxation.  Hypnotherapy works because when we are relaxed and feeling safe we become open to suggestion.  The whole process helps you to understand how the brain works, how you can change and control your mindset and how to move forward positively.

I am also a Certified Hypnotic Birthing Practitioner and Certified Practitioner of NLP as well as a Mindfulness Coach.

Please call on 07904 500307 for an informal and confidential chat by phone or to book your free Initial Consultation.

I look forward to hearing from you.
