About me
Thank you for visiting my profile. I would be happy to help you with any issues you may have. It is important that you choose the right therapist for you so here is some information on me and on what I do.
I am a qualified practitioner in Solution Focused Hypnotherapy having trained with the prestigious Clifton Practice, CPHT Manchester.
Solution Focused Hypnotherapy acknowledges that the client is the expert on themselves and their lives. The therapist is a facilitator, using the techniques of hypnotherapy and positive thinking to help the client make small changes towards their goal – towards the client’s preferred future.
I offer a range of services including help with anxiety & stress, depression, IBS, Insomnia, phobias, OCD, smoking cessation, weight loss, self-hypnosis in childbirth, pain control, motivation and performance, infertility and more.
In addition to practising SFH, I am a Senior Lecturer on the CPHT Sheffield training course and a fully qualified Solution Focused supervisor.
I am on the CNHC accredited register, which means I meet the national standards and abide by the CNHC Code of Conduct, Ethics and Performance.
Training, qualifications & experience
I have a science background and gained a BSc and MSc during my career. For over 30 years I worked in the pharmaceutical industry, helping to bring new drugs to the market. I am now very interested in the use of complimentary medicine and how this can be used alongside or instead of conventional medicine in helping with mental well-being.
I hold the Diploma in Solution Focused Hypnotherapy, the Hypnotherapy Practitioners Diploma (Level 4) and the Advanced Hypnotherapy Diploma (Level 5). I am also qualified as a Solution Focused Supervisor (Level 5).
I am a member of the National Council for Hypnotherapy and the Association for Solution Focused Hypnotherapy. I am also registered with the Complimentary and Natural Healthcare Council. I have an enhanced DBS certificate for working with children and vulnerable adults.
Member organisations
school Registered / Accredited
Being registered/accredited with a professional body means an individual must have achieved a substantial level of training and experience approved by their member organisation.

The CNHC encompasses many types of alternative therapy, including hypnotherapy.
In order to be admitted to the register a practitioner must have studied to the National Occupational Standards for that profession/discipline, or have reached the equivalent of the National Occupational Standards through other relevant training or at least three years of experience and been assessed by their peers.
A practitioner must also have professional insurance and agree to abide by the CNHC Code of Conduct, Performance and Ethics.

The National Council for Hypnotherapy holds one of the largest registers of independent Hypnotherapists in the United Kingdom and strives to maintain the highest standards among its members.
There is an agreed Code of Conduct, an established Complaints & Disciplinary Procedure and all members are obliged to maintain comprehensive Public Liability & Professional Indemnity Insurance, maintain regular CPD (continuing professional development) hours, and attend Supervision when needed.

The Association for Solution Focused Hypnotherapy (AfSFH) was set up to provide information about a modern form of Hypnotherapy and its associated benefits to members of the public. The main aim of the AfSFH is to spread awareness of the benefits of Solution Focused Hypnotherapy. Its secondary aim is to support Hypnotherapists in their businesses by encouraging good practice and self-care.
Accredited register membership

The Accredited Register Scheme was set up in 2013 by the Department of Health (DoH) as a way to recognise organisations that hold voluntary registers which meet certain standards. These standards are set by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA).
This therapist has indicated that they belong to an Accredited Register.

Areas of hypnotherapy I deal with
info Information about health conditions (*)
Hypnotherapy can enhance the well-being of individuals diagnosed with serious medical conditions, but should not take the place of medical treatment and advice. If you have been diagnosed with - or suspect you may have - any of these conditions, please speak to your doctor before starting hypnotherapy.

Additional information
The Initial Consultation involves a 45 minute discussion of how the brain works, how problems can develop and what we can do to help. This session costs £40 and includes a relaxation track on CD or download.
At subsequent therapy sessions, I assist the client in identifying the small change that will help them move towards their goal and then utilise hypnotherapy to bring the conscious and subconscious mind together to make a change. These 50 - 60 minute sessions cost £70.
I have two 'affordable' sessions per week for those on low or no income, and concessions are available for NHS workers, so please do not be afraid to ask.
