About me

My name is Jacqueline Carson and I am a qualified Clinical Hypnotherapist and Psychotherapist. I practise in Darlington and see clients from County Durham and North Yorkshire. I can also travel to individuals who may not be able to get into the practice.

I am now able to offer online hypnotherapy sessions through Skype, Facebook Messenger or WhatsApp. I also provide a complimentary confidence boosting audio track to promote self-hypnosis.

I am a Reiki practitioner and offer bespoke hypno-Reiki sessions for issues such as anxiety, stress, pain relief and relaxation.

I am also a certified EFT (Emotional Freedom Technique) practitioner.

I am trained in NLP and Havening.

Unless the issue is smoking cessation, I never work with anyone until we have had a full consultation. I need to know as much as possible about your issue and you need to feel comfortable working with me. There is no obligation following consultation and you may take time to consider whether hypnotherapy is for you.

My Story:

Having worked as a Social Worker for many years, I retrained as a Hypnotherapist after benefitting from receiving my own therapy. In 2014 six months after my father died, I was diagnosed with breast cancer. I was not at all prepared for how this affected me emotionally. I tried a range of holistic and alternative therapies, one of which was hypnotherapy and I was amazed at how it helped me to balance my emotions. It took a bit of time, a few sessions and initially I did not think it was working, but then, when the penny dropped, my whole outlook on life changed. Hypnotherapy helped me to re-evaluate my whole life, trusting in myself to heal me. The power of the mind is truly amazing, there is nothing you cannot achieve.

I have used hypnotherapy to stop smoking myself and also used self-hypnosis to stop drinking alcohol and eating sugar/processed foods as well as overcome my own fear of flying.

When I am not helping people to heal themselves, I am usually out walking with my beloved dog, Ollie, or experimenting with a new recipe. I live locally and have two grown up children.

Training, qualifications & experience

I studied with the Innervissions School of Clinical Hypnosis Qualifying in October 2016 with a Diploma in Hypnotherapy (Dip Hyp, GQHP). I am also a qualified Psychotherapist and Social Worker (DipSw, 1997, University of Northumbria). I am a Reiki level two practitioner, and am also trained in Havening, EFT and NLP. I hold a Professional Diploma in Nutrition.

I am registered with the General Hypnotherapy Register, having a General Qualification in Hypnotherapy Practice (GQHP). I am also registered with the Complimentary and Natural Healthcare Council (CNHC).

I am a weight loss consultant and have developed the Sugar Addict Rescue program which is an online course to get rid of sugar cravings.

I have completed additional training in Insomnia and sleep issues with the London College of Clinical Hyonosis (LCCH).

As well as seeing clients in my relaxing therapy room, I also work with clients online over Zoom so distance is no object.

Member organisations

The General Hypnotherapy Register (GHR)

Hypnotherapists may become members of the General Hypnotherapy Register if they satisfy certain criteria with regard to both training and ongoing requirements as determined from time to time by the General Hypnotherapy Standards Council (GHSC).

Members are either registered at Practitioner status (which confirms that the GHR acknowledges their qualification to practice), or Affiliate status. Although Affiliate level registrants will have completed a sufficient number of training hours to equip them to commence seeing clients on a limited basis, the GHR does not acknowledge them to have yet been trained to full practitioner level.

All GHR Registered Practitioners are required to accept the published Code of Ethics and Complaints & Disciplinary Procedure.
