About me

Hypnotherapy & Counselling – How I work

I offer hypnotherapy and Counselling in a way that is shaped around you and what you need at this point in your life. I work collaboratively, creating a calm, non-judgemental space where you can explore your experiences at a pace that feels right for you.

My work is held with a trauma-informed awareness. Sessions are carefully paced, and there is no expectation to explain everything or to go into anything before you feel ready. My intention is that you leave feeling grounded, supported and held.

I use hypnotherapy and Counselling to support emotional processing, nervous system regulation and change, and we decide together what feels most helpful for you. I pay close attention to the relationship between us, as feeling safe, listened to and respected is central to this work. I aim to meet you with empathy and honesty and with humour where it feels natural, to reflect the full reality of life, including its challenges and its quieter, important moments.

I work face to face from a calm, spacious therapy room in Blackawton, near Totnes, and also from Paignton. I also offer walk-and-talk sessions outdoors, where being in nature can support grounding and ease.

You are the expert on your own life. My role is not to direct or fix you, but to offer a steady, supportive space where understanding can grow, patterns can soften, and new possibilities can begin to emerge in your own way and in your own time.

Areas I work with include (but are not limited to):

Anxiety, panic attacks and low mood
Stress, overthinking and sleep difficulties
Trauma and PTSD
Bereavement and grief
Unwanted habits and phobias (including my rapid Phobia Fix approach)
Confidence, self-esteem and weight management

You might be wondering…

Are you feeling overwhelmed and unsure how to cope?
Does your mind struggle to switch off, getting stuck in loops of worry or self-criticism?
Does life feel like a constant struggle, shaped by the past or dominated by anxiety about the future?
If any of this resonates, please know that you’re not alone. Change is possible, and you don’t have to navigate things on your own.

A safe, supportive space

I offer a warm, compassionate environment where you can talk openly, feel genuinely heard, and begin to make sense of what you’re experiencing. Together, we can gently explore what’s been holding you back, release what no longer serves you, and find ways forward that feel right for you.

Taking the first step

I offer a free 15-minute consultation, giving you the opportunity to talk about what’s going on for you, how it’s affecting your life, and what you’d like to change. I’ll also explain how I work, and together we can decide whether working together feels like a good fit. There’s no pressure, just an open, supportive conversation.

If you’d like to take that first step, I’d love to hear from you.

Client Feedback/Testimonials

I work in a trauma-informed client-centred way. Below are just a few of the testimonials clients have sent me or left for me on Google. You can find more testimonials on my website www.hannahhunthypnotherapy.uk

Client Review: After suffering several bouts of anxiety and depression over nearly 30 years, with my last bout leading me to doubt my sanity, I was put in touch with Hannah. Since my sessions with Hannah, I have gained inner peace, happiness, clarity and am no longer angry (I realise I was so angry). I am now excited about my future, and my only regret is that I hadn’t done this sooner. (Female)

Client Review: Hannah has worked with me to build my self-confidence, calm my anxiety and help overcoming obstacles that made me want to crawl and hide. It's been months since our last session but I still notice the small and large changes I've made in my life and I truly don't think I would be where I am today without her hypnotherapy sessions. I still have a way to go, but feel assured that if I need a helping hand Hannah will be there, with her calming voice and gentle healing therapy.  (Female google review)

Client Review: Hannah is fantastic and I can't recommend her highly enough. The work we did together, through a particularly difficult period in my life, was an absolute blessing. It has helped to me to move forward in my own world and was totally game-changing. I also learnt so much more about myself along the way, and I wouldn't hesitate to go back if ever I needed support again.
