About me

As we move towards the "new normal" many people are struggling  with lockdown weight gain, fitness loss or drinking habits. Many more are feeling anxious, having sleep problems or confidence issues. You are unique and my  wide range of skills and qualifications enable me to create a personalised therapy package to meet your needs. I specialise in weight loss (including hypno gastric band and other research-based methods). Other specialist areas include reducing stress and anxiety, improving confidence and changing stubborn behaviours, habits and problems...for good.

All therapies are currently available by video call or online It’s easy and effective.  Face to face sessions will be back soon too, with all Covid related hygiene measures in place. Free, initial phone consultation ...as always         and special discounts still apply for a limited time as we emerge into the "new normal".

Time on your hands could also be an opportunity to change for good.          This might be a good time to finally get rid of those habits, issues or phobias you’ve been meaning to address for some time. For example smoking or fear of spiders, flying or the dentist.

The good news is, although face to face sessions will be coming back soon, successful therapy doesn’t rely on us being in the same room. You’ll be able to experience the same benefits by online video session from the comfort of your own home.  It’s as easy as making a phone call and I can guide you through step by step if needed.

“The video calls were easy; it felt just like Liz was in the same room with me. I feel much better now”

Clients often choose to work with me because: I am qualified, skilled and experienced. I’ve helped many people over the years, as a nurse, university lecturer, training consultant and now Registered Clinical Hypnotherapist and wellbeing coach.

I am friendly and approachable. I aim to help you achieve real, lasting change in as few sessions as possible. I can draw on a wide range of skills to find the best solution for you (e.g. Hypnosis, Neuro-Linguistic Programming (NLP), Mindfulness, Emotional Freedom Therapy (EFT tapping), motivational coaching and more.

As well as gastric band hypnotherapy and binge eating hypnotherapy I offer a new method for successful weight loss, based on scientific research Users have described it as a ‘mind-set shift’, where they exercised or ate healthily because they wanted to, rather than feeling they had to.

Areas of hypnotherapy I deal with

Information about health conditions (*)

Hypnotherapy can enhance the well-being of individuals diagnosed with serious medical conditions, but should not take the place of medical treatment and advice. If you have been diagnosed with - or suspect you may have - any of these conditions, please speak to your doctor before starting hypnotherapy.

Other areas of hypnotherapy I deal with

Performance issues at work, sport or leisure, driving test and exam nerves, social anxiety.

Other therapies: I have 20 years' experience as a practitioner and trainer in motivational interviewing (a talking therapy for making behaviour and other changes). It can help with stopping smoking, healthy eating, increasing physical activity, addictions, alcohol use and much more.

Functional Imagery Training: I am delighted to be one of a small number of therapists in the UK offering this new research-based method for successful weight loss, It uses mental imagery to boost your motivation and confidence to achieve your goals.

Talks & Events: I provide free talks on hypnotherapy, relaxation and wellbeing for community groups, businesses and workplaces.

Change for Good workshops: These one day group workshops offer real, practical tools and resources to boost confidence, reduce stress and help you become the best version of you.  Drawing on my experience as a lecturer and trainer I use creative, brain friendly, techniques to make learning fast, memorable and fun.
