About me

Hello... If you would like to learn more about hypnotherapy please reach out and we can set up a free 15-minute chat. I'll ask you a bit about yourself and your circumstances and will answer any questions you might have. I'm an experienced hypnotherapist (17 years) and Human Givens therapist (5 years)  and I work with adults, older adults, young adults, teens and children as well as couples, on all kinds of issues.

Hypnotherapy often achieves a lot in just a few sessions, whether your goal is to sleep better, release anger, break the cycle of depression, relieve anxiety, stop panic attacks, quit smoking, treat physical symptoms like pain, get rid of phobias like fear of flying of public speaking, improve your relationships, or find emotional support for chronic or terminal illness. I also offer past life regression therapy. metaphysical or spiritual hypnotherapy, and dream work.

What to expect in a session

I take a practical, kind, and non-judgmental approach. I look at the whole person, including what you routinely worry about, stress, relationships, health, sleep, and work, and will listen carefully. Most people find hypnotherapy very relaxing, and I provide each client with my own hypnosis recordings to use at home. This can reinforce any benefits from the session and can improve the ability to relax over time. We can use the Rewind technique for processing and releasing trauma, if necessary.

I hold an enhanced DBS certificate so I can work with vulnerable people, and children. Please call, text or email me for a free 15-minute chat if you have questions before making an appointment, or if you want to discuss hypnotherapy for your child or teen.

I have an office in Perth for in-person appointments Mondays-Thursdays (second-floor via stairs) and I work in Edinburgh on Saturdays and Sundays (ground floor). I also offer online sessions, which work very well. Most people like a 60-minute session but you have the option of 90-minutes if you prefer.

Training, qualifications & experience

I started my private practice in 2008, in North Carolina, USA. From 2015-2018 I  ran a hypnosis clinic for patients with dental anxiety and also worked with children and adolescents referred to me from local hospitals with IBS and other functional bowel disorders.

I am a registered member of the Human Givens Institute (MHGI). I have a PhD in Educational Psychology, and studied child and adolescent development and disability. I hold additional certifications as a hypnotherapist, Transactional Analysis Practitioner, and Advanced Integrative Therapy (AIT) practitioner.  AIT is a mind-body trauma treatment that incorporates CBT, energy psychology and depth psychology. I am a member of the General Hypnotherapy Register, Complementary and Natural Health Care Register,  American Psychological Association, the Society of Psychological Hypnosis (APA-Div30), the International Medical and Dental Hypnotherapy Association, and the Advanced Integrative Therapy Institute. I am also a certified hypnosis instructor with the National Guild of Hypnotists (since 2011) and OMNI Hypnosis International (since 2022).

Although Affiliate level registrants will have completed a sufficient number of training hours to equip them to commence seeing clients on a limited basis, the GHR does not acknowledge them to have yet been trained to full practitioner level.

All GHR Registered Practitioners are required to accept the published Code of Ethics and Complaints & Disciplinary Procedure.
