I do this in a compassionate, non-judgemental environment, using respected methods and techniques, gained throughout many years of experience. The emphasis is on you as a whole person, because you are more than a collection of symptoms and characteristics, and within you already are the resources you need to for whatever it is you want to achieve.
We'll explore feelings and emotions, seeking out the source of the problem, providing lasting solutions, sometimes using hypnosis, sometimes using other established and tested techniques and strategies. My particular areas of interest are anxiety, depression and the effects of stress, in their many and varied forms, from apparently small, irritating habits to emotional trauma. For example - panic attacks, lack of confidence and self-esteem, inability to relax, embarrassment and blushing, chronic pain, physical illnesses or conditions (IBS, ME, allergies, fibromyalgia, and others), fears and phobias, compulsions and obsessions, anger control issues, addictions, sexual difficulties, sleep disorders, general performance problems, relationship complications...and so it goes on. The scientific evidence confirms that the ability to cope with challenging circumstances (resilience) is one of the most important indicators for general good health and life-span. The good news is that it can be learned and enhanced, which is where I come in.
I work with most age groups and am happy to listen to whatever you want to discuss, whether you believe it to be minor or overwhelming, mundane or extraordinary - if it's serious enough for you to want to change it, that's all that matters.
Recent research reveals that the single most important predictor for therapy success is the relationship between client and therapist. My unique contribution to this process is myself, and the best way for you to discover if I can provide what you want and need, is to get in touch. I have had a great deal of experience working as a therapist for several years, which has provided me with constant opportunities to develop and grow. Over time, this has resulted in some meaningful transformations in my methods and approaches, with even better outcomes. Learning and discovery are lifelong passions, possibility is everywhere, there is always room for improvement. Every new human contact offers potential insight.
My professional experience is wide, having worked in housing, education, social care and the commercial sector, in a variety of roles and capacities, paid and voluntary, as an employee and self-employed (as well as unemployed!). It has been my privilege to meet and work with people of very mixed abilities, from all backgrounds and walks of life, in many differing circumstances, across all age ranges.
I was involved in running an internet retail business for over 10 years; I have been a foster carer; I understand the challenges of relationships, marriage and parenthood.
Like most people, there have been occasions when I have needed support and assistance (professional and otherwise) to cope. I understand what it feels like to have to ask for help, I know how difficult that can be, so during your therapy we will work through your problems side-by-side. You have all the necessary resources within you already (genuinely, you do!), so what you really need now is my help to uncover or discover them.

The General Hypnotherapy Register (GHR)
Hypnotherapists may become members of the General Hypnotherapy Register if they satisfy certain criteria with regard to both training and ongoing requirements as determined from time to time by the General Hypnotherapy Standards Council (GHSC).
Members are either registered at Practitioner status (which confirms that the GHR acknowledges their qualification to practice), or Affiliate status. Although Affiliate level registrants will have completed a sufficient number of training hours to equip them to commence seeing clients on a limited basis, the GHR does not acknowledge them to have yet been trained to full practitioner level.
All GHR Registered Practitioners are required to accept the published Code of Ethics and Complaints & Disciplinary Procedure.

Hypnotherapy can enhance the well-being of individuals diagnosed with serious medical conditions, but should not take the place of medical treatment and advice. If you have been diagnosed with - or suspect you may have - any of these conditions, please speak to your doctor before starting hypnotherapy.
I offer a free initial consultation (which may be by telephone if that suits better) lasting up to 1 hour, after which there is no pressure to continue with therapy. Please contact me for details, I am more than happy and willing to discuss your wishes and my charges, and it's your chance to find out more about me.
I generally prefer to work to a 2 hour session, as experience has shown it to be more effective more quickly. However, for some clients, shorter sessions may work better, especially if dealing with simpler, relatively straightforward conditions. This is something we can talk about during the initial consultation. Therapy varies according to the needs of each individual and fees reflect this.
