About us
Becoming a therapist has been born from my deep-seated desire to help people to flourish and discover their full potential. My philosophy has been shaped, not only from academic understanding, but also through profound personal experiences which helped me to realise and recognise that true healing stems from a holistic approach that nurtures people's mind, body, and spirit. I believe that every person has an inherent capacity for growth, resilience and self-discovery. In my role as a therapist I aim to help people tap into and acknowledge these inner strengths and resources.
If a person needs or wants help, regardless of who they are and what they have done, I will strive to facilitate this in any capacity in which I can. I have been described by others as a calming influence and terminally understanding as I instinctively create a space for people in which they feel safe and is judgement free. This means that people I encounter feel open and relaxed in my presence which is foundational for any kind of therapeutic work.
I firmly believe that we must use a holistic approach to healing and we can achieve profound benefits from therapy, hypnotherapy, meditation, and mindfulness. My personal experiences cemented my desire to offer people a comprehensive and integrative approach tailored to suit their individual needs. Therapy should not just be about isolating one particular issue and solving that, it is instead about seeing each person as a whole. True wellbeing is achieved through a multifaceted approach that integrates various therapeutic modalities.
To serve this holistic and person-centred philosophy, my practice is, and always will be, integrative and adaptable. I have a vast and diverse toolkit that ensures I can uniquely tailor and focus on what will be most effective for each individual that I work with. I am wholly committed to ethical practice and continuous professional development. This ensures that I am always learning, refining and integrating skills and insights which ensures my practice remains effective, current and knowledge-based.
Training, qualifications & experience
My personal history, experiences, and education mean that I have developed a raw understanding of human suffering, the complexities of developing and utilising coping mechanisms, and the longing for clarity and human connection. My academic journey started in music, I was drawn to this as it was my form of escape and emotional release, and during my studies I learned about music therapy which highlighted a different path for me which I found more suited to me. This path led me to complete an HNC in Counselling, obtaining my counselling skills certificate, and then to my BSc (hons) in Psychology.
After university my physical health deteriorated and I was diagnosed with chronic health conditions. These took their toll on my life and my mental health and further learning took a back seat for a while as I focused on this. I was very lucky to have Dr's around me who helped me get the help I needed and I started going to counselling to help develop coping strategies. It is through this that I rebuilt my resilience and confidence within myself. I then felt able to start working towards my goal of helping others by being a facilitator of change which then led me to obtain my HPD (Hypnotherapy in Practice Diploma), Dip CAH (Diploma in Advanced and Clinical Hypnosis) and PNLP (Practitioner Certificate in Neuro-linguistic Programming).
