About me
Emerging Hypnotherapy:
Hi, I work from my purpose-built, cosy Garden Room that clients say creates a calm and tranquil environment in which to relax and share their dreams, fears and goals.
I believe that our present beliefs come from what we accept about ourselves from the past. These core beliefs can impact our way of thinking and often lead to toxic relationships, repeating patterns of behaviour, anxiety, depression fears and phobias, and a lack of self-worth/belief, but there is always a solution if you're open to accepting it.
We cannot change the physical past, but we can change how we feel about it, and that can make a massive difference to how we react to our current situation.
Your unconscious mind is always looking for ways to keep you safe. This is where fight, flight and freeze responses are formed. The unconscious will look to your past experiences to determine how you have stayed safe before and will repeat these emotions, feelings, images and behaviours, even if they are no longer benefitting you, e.g. the child screams when it sees a spider as Mum always screams when she sees a spider... the adult child then continues to scream at spiders, despite having no real fear of them!
As your unconscious thinking is around 93%, and your conscious awareness is only 7%, we all have a tendency to react first based on our beliefs, before our conscious mind is aware, e.g. finding yourself eating a bar of chocolate mindlessly, before realising you've eaten the whole thing! The benefit of therapy in hypnosis is that suggestions are made to your unconscious mind, encouraging a new and healthier way of thinking and acting.
My sessions often last 2 hours, as I allow plenty of time for you to express yourself, to be validated and understood. I explain exactly what I intend to do in your tailor-made session so that you can ask any questions before you allow yourself to drift off into a safe, hypnotic trance. You are fully aware of what I'm saying, you can move if you need to, speak if you need to, and even open your eyes briefly to check you're still in a safe space if you need to. When you feel in control of how the session proceeds, allowing yourself to relax is so much easier.
So, this just leads me to ask - are you ready to let go of the behaviours and thinking that is preventing you from being your best self?
Training, qualifications & experience
DipHyp qualified 2019. GHR Registered 8405
I have been practising since 2019, and have also completed Ali Campbell's online hypnotherapy courses to keep my learning fresh.
Having spent some time training as a medium at Newton Abbot Spiritualist church, I feel comfortable talking about all things spiritual with my clients, where appropriate. I do not offer readings, but hold space for those spirits who wish to be involved to be present.
Member organisations
Hypnotherapists may become members of the General Hypnotherapy Register if they satisfy certain criteria with regard to both training and ongoing requirements as determined from time to time by the General Hypnotherapy Standards Council (GHSC).
Members are either registered at Practitioner status (which confirms that the GHR acknowledges their qualification to practice), or Affiliate status. Although Affiliate level registrants will have completed a sufficient number of training hours to equip them to commence seeing clients on a limited basis, the GHR does not acknowledge them to have yet been trained to full practitioner level.
All GHR Registered Practitioners are required to accept the published Code of Ethics and Complaints & Disciplinary Procedure.
