About me
Hypnotherapy can be helpful for those who wish to be able to relax and can’t switch off from things that may be troubling them or the day to day tensions.
As a hypnotherapist, I have worked with people who have experienced trauma, insomnia and anxiety.
hypnotherapy compliments the work that I do as a psychotherapist as it often can have an impact quickly.
I work with a variety of clients at different ages and presenting issues whether it be anxiety or weigh loss or phobias.
My background experience includes working in Mental Health, and as a Special Constable, this has given me a deeper insight to other's distress.
As well as my private work, I also have experience working in GP practice and I have previously worked in secondary schools and in the Corporate sector.
For over a year, I also provided therapy within a Brain Injury rehabilitation centre to those who have experienced brain injury and their families.
In addition to private counselling and Hypnotherapy, I am a CEO Clinical for a specialist Complex Trauma organisation, having previously been a Clinical Lead in the same organisation.
I have spoken at conferences and delivered workshops to other organisations to raise awareness of the impact of psychological distress.
Due to my interest in trauma, I wrote an article on the impact of Childhood Sexual Abuse and birth that was published in the British Journal of Midwifery.
In 2018 I won a North Ayrshire Health and Social Care Partnership award.
In addition to my General Hypnotherapy Register Membership I am also a member of BACP and of the British Psychological Society and EMDR Association UK.
I am currently studying for my Doctorate in Psychological Trauma at the University .
I also work as a Coach to other Professionals who are looking for support and direction in dealing with various work related issues.

Member organisations
Hypnotherapists may become members of the General Hypnotherapy Register if they satisfy certain criteria with regard to both training and ongoing requirements as determined from time to time by the General Hypnotherapy Standards Council (GHSC).
Members are either registered at Practitioner status (which confirms that the GHR acknowledges their qualification to practice), or Affiliate status. Although Affiliate level registrants will have completed a sufficient number of training hours to equip them to commence seeing clients on a limited basis, the GHR does not acknowledge them to have yet been trained to full practitioner level.
All GHR Registered Practitioners are required to accept the published Code of Ethics and Complaints & Disciplinary Procedure.
