About me
I'm Leanne, somatic hypnotherapist, parts work practitioner, and late-diagnosed ADHDer. I've been helping people understand and work with their minds and bodies for almost 15 years, and I hold an MSc in Biomedical Science alongside my clinical hypnotherapy training. I'm based on the Wirral and work in person and online.
I work with people who:
- have tried to think their way out of something and hit a wall.
- People who understand their patterns intellectually but can't seem to shift them.
- People whose nervous systems are stuck running old programmes that made sense once and are now costing them everything.
Most don't arrive with a clearly defined outcome, they just know that something isn't right, that they're not functioning the way they want to, and that what they've tried so far hasn't been enough. They often feel lost. Many find me having already tried traditional talking therapies and found them frustrating, insufficient, or at times, leaving them feeling worse.
Most of my clients are neurodivergent with unique sensory needs and their own way of experiencing and making sense of things. Unable to visualise, - aphantasia - or difficulty sensing and naming emotions - alexithymia - are all common experiences for my clients. These sensory sensitivities can all be accommodated by reducing discomfort and increasing accessibility such as creating eyes-open or alternative induction techniques for example.
WHY MY APPROACH, AND WHY IT WORKS FOR NEURODIVERGENT CLIENTS IN PARTICULAR
Standard talking therapy asks your conscious mind to fix what your conscious mind created. For a lot of people, that's limited. For many neurodivergent people, it's actively exhausting, and often makes things worse.
Hypnotherapy bypasses the analytical mind entirely and works directly with the subconscious, the part that's actually running the show. Somatic therapy works with the body and nervous system, where held emotions, survival responses, and old patterns live in a very literal, physical sense.
Together, they don't ask you to talk your way to insight. They create the conditions for real change, at the level where the problem actually lives.
I've also spent years developing the ability to read and match a client's nervous system, adapt to sensory and emotional needs in real time, and co-regulate in a way that makes the work feel safe rather than clinical. I don't use scripts so there is no one-size-fits-all session structure or signature method. I treat each client and each session uniquely, with careful, trained attention to you, how you think, how you process, how your body holds what your mind has been trying to manage. That is not something that can be standardised.
THE FRAMEWORK, YOUR INTERNAL COMPANY
One of the things that makes my work distinctive is the framework at the heart of my practice: the Internal Company.
The idea is simple. You are not one singular self. You're more like a company, a collection of parts, each with their own role, history, and logic. Some of those parts are protective. Some are exhausted. Some are still running strategies that made perfect sense in 1997 and haven't been updated since.
Most people spend years being managed by their staff rather than running the company themselves. The work we do together is about helping you step back into the CEO chair.
This sits underneath everything, the hypnotherapy, the somatic work, the parts work. It's the map.
BELIEFS, AND WHY THEY CAN CHANGE
Whatever is keeping you stuck is rooted in a belief. Not a fact, a belief. The important thing to know about beliefs is that no belief is true. Not the good ones, or the bad ones. They're just something that you have persisted in believing, yet we run our lives by them. The good news is that no belief is permanent. Every belief can be updated, released, or reframed from one that is not serving you to one that does, when you work at the level where it was formed, the subconscious.
HOW SESSIONS WORK
Sessions are dynamic, responsive, and built around you. I'm not a script-driven hypnotherapist. I don't have a protocol I apply to everyone who walks in. I use a range of advanced techniques including somatic parts work, inner child work, timeline therapy, NLP, EFT, and Ericksonian hypnotherapy, drawing on whatever the work calls for at that moment.
Where visualisation or suggestion scripts are useful to reinforce the work between sessions, I record these for you to keep.
Most clients resolve their issues in 3–6 sessions, though every person is different and I'll always be honest about what I think you need.
"Leanne really helped me with several issues that were holding me back. Although I'd tried to process them and work them out nothing had helped. It really is a great tool for change! I also had a particularly stubborn trauma bond that we worked on, and I can genuinely say the changes that specific session alone have brought about have been life changing" - Alexandra

Member organisations
The CNHC encompasses many types of alternative therapy, including hypnotherapy.
In order to be admitted to the register a practitioner must have studied to the National Occupational Standards for that profession/discipline, or have reached the equivalent of the National Occupational Standards through other relevant training or at least three years of experience and been assessed by their peers.
A practitioner must also have professional insurance and agree to abide by the CNHC Code of Conduct, Performance and Ethics.
Hypnotherapists may become members of the General Hypnotherapy Register if they satisfy certain criteria with regard to both training and ongoing requirements as determined from time to time by the General Hypnotherapy Standards Council (GHSC). Members are either registered at Practitioner status (which confirms that the GHR acknowledges their qualification to practice), or Affiliate status. Although Affiliate level registrants will have completed a sufficient number of training hours to equip them to commence seeing clients on a limited basis, the GHR does not acknowledge them to have yet been trained to full practitioner level. All GHR Registered Practitioners are required to accept the published Code of Ethics and Complaints & Disciplinary Procedure.
Accredited register membership
The Accredited Register Scheme was set up in 2013 by the Department of Health (DoH) as a way to recognise organisations that hold voluntary registers which meet certain standards. These standards are set by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA).
This therapist has indicated that they belong to an Accredited Register.
Areas of hypnotherapy I deal with
info Information about health conditions (*)
Hypnotherapy can enhance the well-being of individuals diagnosed with serious medical conditions, but should not take the place of medical treatment and advice. If you have been diagnosed with - or suspect you may have - any of these conditions, please speak to your doctor before starting hypnotherapy.
Other areas of hypnotherapy I deal with
SELF EVOLUTION
I work with a lot of people who don't fit neatly into a diagnostic category or a single presenting issue. They're not in crisis. They're functioning. But they know they're not living anywhere near their full capacity, and they're tired of not understanding why.
This is the work I call self evolution, and it's where I spend most of my time.
Self evolution isn't about fixing what's broken. It's about understanding how you were built, why you run the way you run, and what becomes possible when you stop outsourcing the decisions to the parts of you that are still operating on old information.
It draws on everything, the subconscious work of hypnotherapy, the nervous system work of somatic therapy, and the map of the Internal Company framework. It's for people who are ready to stop being managed by their own staff and begin intentional evolution.

‘As a busy mum and self employed photographer I was burnt out and couldn't see a way out. Leanne helped me see I was in a vicious cycle of believing I had no time to myself, but wasting the time I did have. I was staying up late just to get time alone, and was often tired and grouchy. Working with Leanne I learnt to work with my schedule and massively improved my sleep. Both of which have helped create calm both at home and work. I have rediscovered what is important to me, and I have begun to take time for my hobbies going back to my childhood with rollerbooting – Jessica
