About me
Hello my name is Karyn Bowering and I am an experienced, advanced trained hypnotherapist, health professional and mental health specialist. My passion is helping people to overcome and find totally effective solutions for a wide variety of difficulties from unwanted habits to emotional problems, depression, anxiety, fears, phobias, anger issues, eating disorders, unhealthy relationships with food, insomnia, low self esteem, lack of confidence, relationship issues, sexual problems, chronic pain and unexplained conditions that have an emotional source. I have had the pleasure of working with adults from all backgrounds with a wide array of difficulties. I have also enjoyed helping many pre-teens- teenagers overcome emotional difficulties and issues that had been holding them back. Seeing young people gain confidence and feel empowered enough to begin meeting their potential makes me feel very happy.
There is nothing more satisfying to me in my work as a hypnotherapist than helping people from all walks of life achieve totally effective, natural, rapid and lasting changes (changes that my clients had often been trying to achieve for many years with willpower or traditional therapy, with limited or no success).
I have many years of experience as a health professional working within the NHS and have a wealth of knowledge and expertise in mental health, well-being and effective ways to help you heal and find powerful lasting solutions.

I offer 1:1 in person sessions that last an hour and half
I can offer home visits on request across the North East
I also offer remote sessions via Zoom which is a safe, ethical and totally effective way to receive the same service and benefits you would receive when working with me face to face. This is something that I began delivering more during lockdown, and found to have multiple benefits of time, efficiency and convenience as well as achieving the same results as in person. Whatever your preference is fine.

Member organisations
Hypnotherapists may become members of the General Hypnotherapy Register if they satisfy certain criteria with regard to both training and ongoing requirements as determined from time to time by the General Hypnotherapy Standards Council (GHSC).
Members are either registered at Practitioner status (which confirms that the GHR acknowledges their qualification to practice), or Affiliate status. Although Affiliate level registrants will have completed a sufficient number of training hours to equip them to commence seeing clients on a limited basis, the GHR does not acknowledge them to have yet been trained to full practitioner level.
All GHR Registered Practitioners are required to accept the published Code of Ethics and Complaints & Disciplinary Procedure.

I have a mental health background, working for over 10 years as a Talking Therapist at the NHS before moving into further education and becoming a mental health practitioner for University students. I then decided to focus my time and energy on my hypnosis work and my private practice after seeing how superior my hypnotherapy can be compared to other more traditional therapies - the majority of which I had experienced personally and professionally. I know that clients want a service that brings them rapid, permanent, effective change. and this is exactly what my hypnosis is all about.
