About me

I am Jennifer and I work with adults and children who want to make swift but lasting change in their lives. We work together to start creating change in your first session. We will discuss the best way forward, moving quickly towards the outcome that you are hoping for. Some people want to use traditional hypnotherapy, others seek to make their change using other Mind Management techniques; I will explain all of the options when we meet and we can take it from there.

Most clients start with a free 20-30 minute conversation, designed for you to decide if you would like to go ahead and work with me. This can be booked online or by calling/messaging me.

I believe that hypnotherapy is a brief therapy; we shouldn't string the work out for more sessions than is necessary. Many clients who see me for fears and phobias, or habits and addictions, will only see me once. Some issues may take more sessions to unpack, but you will always remain in control over how long we meet for.

With a background in senior leadership in education I am just as comfortable working with adults as I am with children and teenagers. I am client focussed; I listen, think and discuss.

I see clients in my discrete office in Tokenhouse Yard, between Moorgate and Bank, and in my hypnohouse in Enfield, North London. I am also happy to see you online, should you prefer. Your comfort underpins our success together.

Issues I often see people with include:

  • Fears and Phobias
  • Anxiety and Stress
  • Imposter syndrome
  • Performance issues (exams, interviews, sporting, stage, public speaking)
  • Habits and Addictions
  • Chronic pain (once your doctor has told you that you need to learn to manage/live with it)
  • Weight maintenance, including taking the step to come off of GLP-1s

This list isn't exhaustive, I love it when a client brings an issue I haven't seen before. The process of truly listening to get to understand the client, and devising a plan to move forward, is just as necessary whether it's a unique issue or one I have seen a hundred times before; no two clients are alike, and neither are their stories.

Training, qualifications & experience

I qualified as a clinical hypnotherapist in 2018 through the ICCHP in London. I have seen clients ever since, working on issues as diverse as fears and phobias, stress and anxiety, habits and addictions, imposter syndrome, performance and chronic pain.

I can offer a combination of traditional hypnotherapy, hypno-EMDR and EMIT (eye movement desensitisation for trauma issues), REBT (rationally emotive behaviour therapy) as well as coaching and executive development skills. You will remain in control in our session, as we devise the plan that best works for you.

My background is as an educator, and I completed a Masters degree at Cambridge University in 2015. This was focussed on leading change in schools towards better student emotional health, through prevention and early intervention of issues. I finished this course with a desire to see whether brief interventions (like hypnotherapy and mind management) would be more effective in students who couldn't attend school, so I completed my training as a hypnotherapist. I thought I would work entirely with children and teens when I qualified, but soon realised how much I loved supporting adults with their own hopes too.

Member organisations

GHR
The General Hypnotherapy Register (GHR)

Hypnotherapists may become members of the General Hypnotherapy Register if they satisfy certain criteria with regard to both training and ongoing requirements as determined from time to time by the General Hypnotherapy Standards Council (GHSC). Members are either registered at Practitioner status (which confirms that the GHR acknowledges their qualification to practice), or Affiliate status. Although Affiliate level registrants will have completed a sufficient number of training hours to equip them to commence seeing clients on a limited basis, the GHR does not acknowledge them to have yet been trained to full practitioner level. All GHR Registered Practitioners are required to accept the published Code of Ethics and Complaints & Disciplinary Procedure.

Areas of hypnotherapy I deal with

Information about health conditions (*)

Hypnotherapy can enhance the well-being of individuals diagnosed with serious medical conditions, but should not take the place of medical treatment and advice. If you have been diagnosed with - or suspect you may have - any of these conditions, please speak to your doctor before starting hypnotherapy.

Other areas of hypnotherapy I deal with

  • Weight management, coming off GLP-1 medication
  • Emotionally Based School Absence (what used to be referred to as 'school refusal ')

I encourage clients to start with a free, no-obligation initial conversation with me. It gives you the opportunity to be sure that you are choosing the right person and to ask any questions you may have. You can request this here or book on my website.

Pain Short Appointment:
An initial short appointment to see whether your chronic pain can be managed through mind management and hypnotherapy. If it can, you may need a follow-up appointment. My City of London rooming costs are higher, and this is reflected in the session price.
