About me

My name is Iain Lawrence and  I am a Clinical hypnotherapist,  I believe in employing an empathetic compassionate approach and working collaboratively with the client to find the appropriate solution for them. I am now able to see clients in person  but also  offer Skype , AND WhatsApp appointments for a discounted rate per session. I am based out of Comfortable rooms in Glasgow's West End  and Troon .

If you are unsure about Hypnotherapy and have questions then please get In touch for free as due to my health background I have a wide ranging experience of a range of problems.  I am registered with the National Council of Hypnotherapy ( NCH)

In the current climate due to the financial pressures the majority of people are under I am  offering a flat rate of £40 per session for one hour for an online appointment  and £50 for a face to face appointment. The initial assessment for  where we discuss the presenting problem is £45.  I find that for most issues that online sessions work equally as well as face to face appointments and can give flexibility if you lead a busy life . I believe in working ethically at all times and constant review people's progress to ensure they are getting the most out of their appointments

In my practice since 2019 I have worked with a  a range of problems to do with  Anxiety such as generalised anxiety, phobias  in their many forms  and Obsessive Compulsive Disorder . I also have experience of encouraging healthier lifestyle choices through Hypnosis such as stopping smoking, helping people cut down on their drinking and losing weight.  I also treat Confidence Issues,  , and Chronic Pain. I trained at the School School of Applied Hypnosis and Mind Techniques and Hypnosis in Linlithgow learning from very experienced practitioners.  I believe that the mind can be used to overcome any issue no matter how chronic the problem is . I have good experience of other therapies to and I feel that there is something more suited to your issue I will signpost you to it.

If you have ever been curious as to what a typical Hypnotherapy appointment involves then please check out the video near the bottom of this page. In the video, I give a condensed version of what happens in a Hypnotherapy appointment from the initial assessment to the trance stage and the end of the appointment review.

I experienced Hypnotherapy before training in it so I know how it feels to approach someone with a problem  it can be a daunting experience even contacting a therapist for the first time, but after 15 years in Nursing I am well trained at putting people at ease no matter how apprehensive they are .

I am also trained in employing Neuro Linguistic Programming Techniques and Emotional Freedom Therapy ( tapping).  Prior to qualifying as a Hypnotherapist I worked for many years as a Mental Health Professional within the NHS treating people with a wide variety of Psychiatric Diagnosis and often people whose physical health had been compromised to.

If you would like to find out more then please get in touch by phone or email both addresses are listed here and  I would be more than happy to answer any questions you may have about hypnotherapy and how it could help with your particular issue. I also offer a discount to NHS staff, and members of the armed forces.

Due to a number of on the day cancellations I am asking clients now that if they cancel less than 24 hours prior to the appointment then they are still liable to pay for that appointment time . This is in line with most other therapists .

Areas of hypnotherapy I deal with

Information about health conditions (*)

Hypnotherapy can enhance the well-being of individuals diagnosed with serious medical conditions, but should not take the place of medical treatment and advice. If you have been diagnosed with - or suspect you may have - any of these conditions, please speak to your doctor before starting hypnotherapy.

Other areas of hypnotherapy I deal with

Extensive clinical knowledge for the characteristics of a range of mental health conditions.  I think initially coming along to an appointment is very daunting for some people but with my nursing background I am adept at putting people at ease.  As well as hypnotherapy I am also trained in Emotional Freedom Technique (Tapping) and NLP (Neuro Linguistic Programming)

Recent Testimonials

I contacted Iain after my near enough life long phobia of spiders got out of hand recently resulting in a panic attack. I had 5 sessions with Iain and I can honestly say, it's changed my outlook completely. Far less anxious and happily remove them now. I would highly recommend Iain to anyone considering hypnotherapy.

(Frances. East Kilbride)

a special thanks to iain who has helped me greatly. cannot thank enough. After achieving a goal in something I have put faith in him again with helping with another, I have no doubt this will be a success. Highly recommended. Thank you iain.  (Diane. Hamilton)

"Iain is a highly skilled professional who showed an empathetic approach to my issues. He listened keenly and used several techniques such as " tapping " and Hypnotherapy to enable me to take control of my anxiety. He also allowed me to identify certain personality traits which were enhancing my anxiety. With his support and techniques, I have been able to relax and be at peace with myself. On one occasion I was tearful emotional and distressed. By the end of the session, I felt positive calm and in control. Thank you, Iain. I would highly recommend him and I am grateful to him. " Julie, East Kilbride.

" I have suffered from a fear of blood and needles for over 30 years. Over the years the fear of how the phobia made me feel became scarier than the actual phobia itself. I managed the phobia by avoiding situations that would set it off. I secured a new job and as part of the training had to undergo an intense first aid course which dealt with gunshot and stab wounds. I was sceptical of hypnotherapy but was desperate for help with this issue. I had two sessions with Iain followed up with a recording to listen to at my leisure. The course began and almost immediately graphic images were shown worse than I expected but I remained calm and realised after a short while that the usual faint feeling had not been triggered. I was then able to go through an intense 8 hour course seeing multiple videos of horrific injuries without fainting which was quite simply hard to believe. The therapy I received undoubtedly allowed me to place myself in a situation and calmly and confidently see things and hear things which before would have triggered a fainting feeling. Thanks, Iain for this." Tom, Glasgow
