Iain Lawrence BA Dip AMHT PG Dip
My name is Iain Lawrence and I am a Clinical hypnotherapist , I believe in employing an empathetic compassionate approach and working collaboratively with the client to find the appropriate solution for them. I work from a very comfortable and relaxed counselling room in both East Kilbride and Troon.
In the current climate I am for this period of self isolation offering Skype sessions . Hypnotherapy is perfectly applicable using the Skype app and even if you just want advice during this testing period than I am on hand to offer it .
In my work I am qualified to work with a range of problems from Anxiety and Depression which Is a particular speciality of mine from my background in mental health to Phobias and Addiction .I also treat confidence issues , weight management, irritable bowel syndrome , and chronic pain. I believe that the mind can be used to overcome any issue no matter how chronic the problem is .
If you have ever been curious as to what a typical Hypnotherapy appointment involves then please check out the video near the bottom of this page. In the video I give a condensed version of what happens in a Hypnotherapy appointment from the initial assessment to the trance stage and the end of appointment review.
I purposefully take the time to tailor the care to the specific needs of the individual using a strengths based approach drawing on their own experience of the issue to find a solution. I am also trained in employing Neuro Linguistic Programming Techniques and Emotional Freedom Therapy ( tapping) Prior to qualifying as a Hypnotherapist I worked for many years as a Mental Health Professional within the NHS and I am trained at putting people at ease. I have a Post Graduate Certificate in Drug and Alcohol Studies, and a keen interest in different approaches for Anxiety utilising my 15 years mental health experience
It is a very enjoyable pleasant experience and what i do is very different from stage hypnotism that you see on TV . I also if required can see clients at home I appreciate that you may have an issue that impedes you attending a clinic or you may have practical problems that means it is difficult to attend, in this case I am more than happy to come to you.
In my practice I believe in encouraging and supporting clients to utilise their inner strength in dealing with an issue and that often we under-estimate our only capability to learn , develop heal and overcome challenges regardless of the severity of the issue . If you would like to find out more check out the website or even better get in touching by phone or e mail both addresses are listed here. I would be more than happy to answer any questions you may have about Hypnotherapy and how it could help with your particular issue . I also offer a significant discount to NHS staff , members of the armed forces and those on low incomes

"Iain is a highly skilled professional who showed an empathetic approach to my issues . He listened keenly and used several techniques such as " tapping " and Hypnotherapy to enable me to take control of my anxiety . He also allowed me to identify certain personality traits which were enhancing my anxiety . With his support and techniques I have been able to relax and be at peace with myself . On one occasion I was tearful emotional and distressed . By the end of the session I felt positive calm and in control . Thank you Iain . I would highly recommend him and I am grateful to him . " (Julie ) East Kilbride .
" I have suffered from a fear of blood and needles for over 30 years . Over the years the fear of how the phobia made me feel became scarier than the actual phobia itself . I managed the phobia by avoiding situations that would set it off . I secured a new job and as part of the training had to undergo an intense first aid course which dealt with gunshot and stab wounds . I was skeptical of hypnotherapy but was desparate for help with this issue . I had two, sessions with Iain followed up with a recording to listen to at my leisure . The course begun and almost immediately graphic images were shown worse than I expected but I remained calm and realised after a short while that the usual faint feeling had not been triggered . I was then able to go through an intense 8 hour course seeing multiple videos of horrific injuries without my fainting which was quite simply hard to believe . The therapy I received undoubtedly allowed me to place myself in a situation and calmly and confidently see things and hear things which before would have triggered a fainting feeling . Thanks Iain for this . (Tom )Glasgow
