About me

Greetings. My website gives full information as to my service. I have been a resident of the Isle of Wight since 1960, originating from Aldershot in Hampshire. My first career was in Banking and I then served as a Police Constable in the Hampshire and Isle of Wight Constabulary. I served for a while on the former Sandown-Shanklin Urban District Council in 1970 and on the committee of the local Business Association for some years. I was also a Cub Scout Leader in Shanklin. Whilst not medically qualified I have studied complementary medicines since the age of 15 and have been a registered healer with the National Federation of Healers since 1976. My Hypnotherapy training was begun in 1968 and is still ongoing. I am the sole practitioner of the Hypnotherapy Consultancy and a Certified Master Hypnotist (C.M.H.) and Certified Hypnotherapist (C.Hyp) through the Scarborough School in England. I have a Diploma with the National Council for Hypnotherapy and am a senior member (SQHP) with the General Register for Hypnotherapy. I am also fully registered to practice in the states of California and Florida, U.S.A., where I used to frequently attend seminars and conferences.

The fact that you have reached me means that you are sincerely seeking help, and my membership of the leading Hypnotherapy Associations means that I uphold the highest standards demanded by their membership. Being fully insured and DBS checked are further assurances of my reliability, and the fact that I am in practice after many years,  because I care.  I am a family man with five wonderful children and seven beautiful grandchildren, and this alone has given me a deep understanding of the preciousness of life.                                My reviews on Google and my website are further illustrations of my abilities.

Please call me on 01983 866999 to discuss your needs and how I can help, all in total confidence, of course. This is my 44th year in practice and I come with hundreds of recommendations and satisfied clients, why not call me today? Your welfare is my concern. Warmest wishes Den

Member organisations

Registered / Accredited

Registered / Accredited

Being registered/accredited with a professional body means an individual must have achieved a substantial level of training and experience approved by their member organisation.

CNHC
Complementary and Natural Healthcare Council (CNHC)

The CNHC encompasses many types of alternative therapy, including hypnotherapy.

In order to be admitted to the register a practitioner must have studied to the National Occupational Standards for that profession/discipline, or have reached the equivalent of the National Occupational Standards through other relevant training or at least three years of experience and been assessed by their peers.

A practitioner must also have professional insurance and agree to abide by the CNHC Code of Conduct, Performance and Ethics.

GHR
The General Hypnotherapy Register (GHR)

Hypnotherapists may become members of the General Hypnotherapy Register if they satisfy certain criteria with regard to both training and ongoing requirements as determined from time to time by the General Hypnotherapy Standards Council (GHSC).

Members are either registered at Practitioner status (which confirms that the GHR acknowledges their qualification to practice), or Affiliate status. Although Affiliate level registrants will have completed a sufficient number of training hours to equip them to commence seeing clients on a limited basis, the GHR does not acknowledge them to have yet been trained to full practitioner level.

All GHR Registered Practitioners are required to accept the published Code of Ethics and Complaints & Disciplinary Procedure.

NCH
National Council for Hypnotherapy (NCH)

The National Council for Hypnotherapy holds one of the largest registers of independent Hypnotherapists in the United Kingdom and strives to maintain the highest standards among its members.

There is an agreed Code of Conduct, an established Complaints & Disciplinary Procedure and all members are obliged to maintain comprehensive Public Liability & Professional Indemnity Insurance, maintain regular CPD (continuing professional development) hours, and attend Supervision when needed.

Complementary and Natural Healthcare Council
Accredited Register Scheme

The Accredited Register Scheme was set up in 2013 by the Department of Health (DoH) as a way to recognise organisations that hold voluntary registers which meet certain standards. These standards are set by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA).

This therapist has indicated that they belong to an Accredited Register.

Additional information

Fee for two bookings is taken prior to advising session dates and times. Further sessions are charged at £60 each. There is an opportunity to go onto my website and purchase a relevant MP3 or CD to accompany your sessions. The repetition, with the suggestions on the recordings, is very beneficial to the improving condition. There is ample time to discuss progress at each session.

I am very flexible with regard to the times you are able to attend. That is one of the great advantages of Skype, because I work from my home office I can manage almost any time.

Further information

I have worked by Skype, preferably, (or Zoom or Whatsapp), since Covid prevented home visits and have found it equally successful in its application. I was previously sceptical about its validity but, within a very short time, I realised the equal effectiveness and its easier application for clients who can work from anywhere where the conditions are suitable. Preferably, peaceful, uninterrupted, comfortable and confidential for them. With a good wifi connection. I have numerous reviews by Google on my website, so please check me out thoroughly before you book. Warmest wishes Den
