I have worked as a psychotherapist for 20 years, helping clients to make the changes they wanted in order to have more fulfilled lives.
I work with issues that include stress, depression, anxiety, bereavement, health issues including dental phobia and relationship issues to name a few.
I tailor the sessions around your needs, interweaving techniques from hypnotherapy, psychotherapy, Emotional Freedom Technique, NLP and CBT.
I am told that I am easy to work with and my intuition is a valuable asset in the work. I enjoy building relationships with clients and support them to understand their processes and find new, more satisfying ways to live. I have sat in the client chair and bring an empathy for the many struggles we often face in life. And I believe that we can all live more peacefully and contentedly.
Training, qualifications & experience
I embarked on psychotherapy training while working full time in a large corporation where I developed a keen understanding of the many challenges people face when working in demanding, competitive environments. These demands include dealing with a variety of personalities at work; ever-increasing workloads; struggling to get the right training or well deserved recognition.
I hold General Management and Training Management qualifications and trained as a Performance Coach. I hold an Advanced Diploma in Counselling validated by COSCA (Confederation of Scottish Counselling Agencies) and Napier University and a second Counselling Diploma after a further 4 years of training with CPTI in Edinburgh.
I am also a qualified by National Council for Hypnotherapy as a hypnotherapist.
I am a member of UKATA (UK Association for Transactional Analysis) and an accredited member of BACP (British Association for Counselling and Psychotherapy).

Whilst counselling and psychotherapy can help people to understand the root cause of problems and learn more about their internal processes, hypnotherapy can offer an opportunity to generate empowering beliefs and reframe situations. There are many techniques to choose from and hypnotherapy can offer reparative or restorative solutions. I also share techniques for clients to continue working with self hypnosis where this suits the clients.
Please feel free to contact me to discuss your requirements and start making the changes you want.
