About me

I am a clinical hypnotherapist, integrative coach, meditation teacher, and academic who helps creatives and changemakers uncover greater purpose and clarity. Through the use of a rich and powerful combination of techniques, I will guide you on a journey to develop a deep understanding of yourself and unfold the intricacies of your unconscious behaviours and their impact on your daily life and relationships.

In a supportive framework, I empower you to unleash your authentic potential, step into your own power and take meaningful action to make the changes necessary to achieve your goals and create the life you envision. Our work together fosters a newfound clarity and sense of purpose that brings meaning to your experiences and relationships, paving the way for a fulfilling and purposeful life.

Clinical hypnotherapy is a form of talking therapy that enables people to make lasting changes in their lives. Hypnotherapy can work with a person’s conscious mind to help them change their thoughts and actions, and it can also harness the power of the subconscious mind to bring about positive change in a person’s life. Hypnotherapy is a non-threatening, non-judgmental, and safe way to help clients make positive changes in their lives while giving them the structure and self-responsibility they need to maintain those changes.

In a typical hypnotherapy session, the therapist guides the client into a state of deep relaxation by using a series of techniques called induction. Once in a deeply relaxed state, the client is able to communicate with their subconscious mind, a part of the mind that is not logical or rational, but creative, intuitive and focused on solving problems. It is this part of the mind that works in the background of your life, making decisions and dealing with things that you are not consciously aware of.

During hypnotherapy the client is not asleep—they are relaxed but fully aware of the world around them, although they are able to block out unwanted or intrusive thoughts. Each session is unique and is tailored to the client’s specific needs and goals. Hypnotherapy works mainly through the process of suggestion, where the client can be guided by the therapist to make positive changes and eliminate unwanted behaviours. The therapist also helps the client explore the psychological and emotional reasons for their problems and set goals for their treatment.

Hypnotherapy empowers the client by using transformative language patterns and empathetic, client-centred therapy to help people change their lives and become the person they really want to be. The power of hypnotherapy is that it facilitates positive change at the unconscious level, allowing the client to make the necessary changes in their life without having to understand the changes they are making. Hypnotherapy provides the client with a safe framework to solve their problems while taking away the pressure of having to understand how to make the changes.

The General Hypnotherapy Register (GHR)

Hypnotherapists may become members of the General Hypnotherapy Register if they satisfy certain criteria with regard to both training and ongoing requirements as determined from time to time by the General Hypnotherapy Standards Council (GHSC).

Members are either registered at Practitioner status (which confirms that the GHR acknowledges their qualification to practice), or Affiliate status. Although Affiliate level registrants will have completed a sufficient number of training hours to equip them to commence seeing clients on a limited basis, the GHR does not acknowledge them to have yet been trained to full practitioner level.
