About me

Hello, I’m Jess, a qualified and accredited Hypnotherapist and Psychotherapeutic Counsellor based in Shepton Mallet, Somerset, offering both online and in-person sessions through my private practice, Altogether Therapy.

With over 15 years of experience working within the mental health sector, supporting both adults and children, I understand how difficult life can feel when anxiety, trauma, stress, overwhelm or unhealthy coping patterns begin to take over. Reaching out for support can feel like a big step, so my aim is always to offer a calm, compassionate and non-judgemental space where you feel safe, heard and understood.

I offer an integrative approach that combines talking therapy with hypnotherapy, tailoring sessions to each individual and their unique experiences. I work with a wide range of issues including anxiety, trauma, PTSD, stress, sleep difficulties, phobias, confidence and self-esteem, smoking cessation, habits, weight management and emotional wellbeing.

I have additional training in trauma-informed practice and hold qualifications in the Rewind Technique (Dr David Muss) for trauma and PTSD.

My approach is gentle, collaborative and personalised. Together, we will explore what may be contributing to the difficulties you are experiencing, helping you better understand patterns, triggers and emotional responses, while working towards meaningful and lasting change at a pace that feels comfortable for you.

I believe therapy should feel supportive rather than overwhelming. Whether you are looking for practical coping strategies, emotional support, or help making changes in your life, sessions are adapted around your needs and goals.

Before booking, I offer a complimentary 20-minute telephone consultation. This gives us the opportunity to talk through what brings you to therapy, answer any questions you may have, and make sure we feel like the right fit for one another.

The initial consultation session is usually a little longer, lasting up to 90 minutes, allowing time to explore your experiences in more depth and begin creating a personalised plan moving forward. Ongoing sessions are 50 minutes, with space at the end to reflect and discuss next steps.

If you are considering hypnotherapy and would like to find out more, please feel free to get in touch. I’d be happy to have an informal chat about how I may be able to support you.
