How Rapid Transformation Therapy can help with anger management

Have you found that around a specific person or a specific personality type you tend to have a stronger emotional and physical reaction? Your heart rate increases, your face gets hot and your palms start to sweat. From that point onwards, the situation usually plays out in one of two ways: you find yourself either getting violently angry with them or walking away… but then you continue to have repeated angry intrusive thoughts for a long period afterwards. The classic fight or flight response.

In both cases, you’ve lost emotional control. Even in the first instance, while it might initially feel satisfying to give vent to the internal storm and lose your temper with someone - it rarely, if ever, gets you the result that you want. The other person will feel attacked and you will likely trigger their fight or flight response, escalating the situation.

If people trigger you strongly, it’s almost always a sign of trauma (and we all have some of it!) I’m not saying that the person is not at fault or is not extremely provoking. However, getting angry prevents you from acting from a powerful centred place and almost always leads to sub-optimal outcomes.

What is Rapid Transformational Therapy®?

Rapid Transformational Therapy® (RTT) combines principles of hypnotherapy, psychotherapy, neuro-linguistic programming (NLP), cognitive behavioural therapy (CBT), and neuroscience, offering permanent and fast transformation in as few as one to three sessions.

How can RTT help you be in control?

1. By helping you understand the real cause of your anger

RTT enables you to communicate directly with your subconscious mind – which is where most of your issues, blocks and limiting beliefs reside. Together we can access the root cause which leads to an understanding of why and when the anger first got triggered. We are then no longer at the mercy of these subconscious triggers and are better equipped to regulate our reactions.

2. By helping you release the past and gain emotional freedom

Strong triggers come from significant events in our childhood. Sometimes our mind subconsciously prevents us from letting go of anger because it believes that holding on is somehow serving a purpose.

For instance, we learn that anger can help us get attention or can somehow protect us from getting hurt again. This can be exhausting because even though we subconsciously believe that holding onto this anger is serving us… in reality, these feelings are holding us back. RTT helps us process the pain from these events and unlearn behaviours that are no longer serving us.

3. By helping you believe and embody a better story

RTT helps you transform your negative beliefs about yourself, such as ‘I can’t cope’, into better ones that serve you, like ‘I can overcome any challenges that I face’. Programming this positive story into your mind will make huge shifts in your reaction - you will start to react more and more from a place of strength and confidence. This shift will, as a consequence, start to positively impact your relationships.

To conclude, even though a specific person or trait might drive you crazy, it helps to be able to pause, reflect and approach the situation calmly. High levels of conflict involving screaming, throwing things and holding contempt will eat away at your relationships until they break down.

RTT can help you gain the control you need to approach the same situation differently. Once you change your mindset, you will change your reality.
