Welcome to my page! I work from clinics in Hinckley, Leicestershire and Kenilworth, Warwickshire.
One of my main areas of work is helping people who are worrying too much. Sometimes this kind of worrying, known as anxiety, can just creep up on people so, before they know it, they seem stuck in a life where everything is wrong and they can't stop those awful negative thoughts going round and round in their mind. What's more, it often affects sleep and causes physical symptoms in the body, like stomach problems, tension headaches, pounding heart rate etc.
This is just one area that I work in though and there are plenty of other conditions I can help with, some of the most common ones are listed below:
- Anxiety (including such things as driving anxiety, test nerves, public speaking)
- Phobias and Fears
- Bad habits
- Quitting smoking
- Confidence and self esteem
- Weight management
You can find out more about me on my website at www.tranceforachange.com or continue to read a bit more about my qualifications etc below.
Some of my Qualifications
I hold a HPD (Hypnotherapy Practitioner Diploma) awarded by the National Council for Hypnotherapy - this is considered the gold standard of the industry.
Diploma for Solution Focused Hypnotherapy. This style of hypnotherapy combines positive psychology with hypnosis in a way that is very effective. It recognises that inside you there is a wealth of resources and skills, even if you can't see that right now. This therapy brings out the very best of who you are.
I am also a BWRT practitioner at advanced level and this can be of enormous help in respect of some of the issues I deal with and many clients enjoy a combination of both types of therapy.
I continually train to expand my skills, so that you get the best service I can provide, underpinned by the latest knowledge in brain research.
Guilds and Memberships
I am a member of the CNHC (Complimentary and Natural Healthcare Council), which sets out standards and guidelines for its members so that you can be assured of my best attention at all times.
I am also a member of the AfSFH (Association for Solution Focused Hypnotherapists) which is a guild specifically created for solution focused hypnotherapists and which also has a strict code of ethics for its members to adhere to.
Further, I am a registered member of the BWRS (Brain Working Recursive Society), which is committed to further research into the neuroscience-based therapies for the speedy and effective resolution of psychological and emotional distress.
All of these associations and guilds have web pages where you can find out more information about their aims and objectives.
I hold an enhanced DBS Certificate (formerly CRB check) which can give you the confidence that I am able to work with vulnerable adults and children.
The First Step
I offer a free*, no obligation, initial consultation, which usually lasts between 30 minutes and an hour. At the initial consultation you will have the chance to ask me any questions you want and I will give you more information about the whole process. It's a very exciting time because from that moment, you know change is possible. You will find me friendly and easy to talk to. I am non-judgemental and offer a "safe haven" where your comfort and confidentiality are paramount.
I will also give you a copy of my hypnotherapy CD or MP3 which is beautifully relaxing and full of positive suggestions. This will prepare you for our future sessions and get you feeling better from the outset.
Following the initial consultation we can set up your first session which will be tailored for you so that you can really start to enjoy the benefits very quickly.
*At my Kenilworth location it is necessary to charge a £15.00 fee for the initial consultation to cover my expenses, but this will be allocated against the first session fees.
I offer a friendly, caring approach and will answer any questions you might have without judgement or any fear of being criticised. My personal life experiences mean that I can understand so much more about human nature and the challenges we face.
I work from a very comfortable private therapy room in Hinckley or from CW Therapy Rooms in Kenilworth.
If you would like more information or an informal chat please get in touch. I am more than happy to answer any questions you have.
I look forward to helping you look forward.

Hypnotherapy and BWRT are completely different therapies and would not be mixed together in a single session. Fantastic life changing therapy with a caring and understanding lady!
Vicky has helped me so much in many areas of my life using Hypnotherapy and Brain Working Recursive Therapy (BWRT).
She has done an amazing job helping me overcome anxiety amongst other things.
Take a look, she can work wonders with a wide variety of problems.
I strongly recommend her.
I can’t thank you enough Vicky xx
Vicky has turned my life around. Days after my first session I was sleeping well. After a few sessions I was able to manage my anxiety and stress without resorting to coping mechanisms such as eating a whole pack of biscuits. Every aspect of my life has improved and I feel like myself again. ST, LeicesterI visited Vicky on Wednesday 2nd of August 2017 for a session of BWRT. The day my life changed and I will never forget it. I had been experiencing and altered mood and had become very low and isolated. Having tried other routes I was lucky enough, finally to find Vicky. I left her home therapy room with a smile on my face ... I am like the Cheshire Cat. My hubby is overwhelmed by the change in me. My anxiety has left and I am calmer and concentrated. Amazing. I would highly recommend Vicky who is a lovely lady, with a fabulous comfy chair and extraordinary talent. Thank you for helping my Vicky, I will be telling everyone about you and Trance for a Change. JA, Leicestershire
Vicky is a lovely lady who really puts me at ease. She explains how the brain works with hypnotherapy which makes it easier for me to relate to the process. Having said that, I haven't a clue what it is she's actually doing as I'm in such a comfortable, relaxed state I can only really remember waking up (or coming to, as I'm not actually asleep). All I know is that I float out of her treatment room and that I'm feeling better after only a few visits. Thank you so much Vicky. See you soon. JR, Stoke Golding
Vicky has really helped me over the last couple of months with my anxieties, hypnotherapy has given me a whole new lease of life. Fully recommend this wonderful lady to anyone who struggles with things like anxiety!! Thank you so much Vicky :) BM, Coventry
Vicky helped me to stop biting my nails after 30 years or more. I haven't bitten them since. It was the only thing that worked for me hypnotherapy. LS, Leicester
Vicky is a wonderful therapist who I would recommend to everyone. She has the most soothing voice and caring nature. She genuinely is one of the nicest and most supportive people I have ever met xx
My experience with Vicky;
If anyone has any concerns in their life with overcoming a particular event or situation in their life that causes stress or anxiety, I would recommend hypnotherapy and especially by our lovely Vicky Tunaley.
She so kindly and caringly took me as client when I had experienced an anxiety overspilled driving test. A few days before the test day I became nervous and by test day I was shaking and close to tears.
Vicky taught me that my brain realised how stressed I was because I believed I was about to encounter a horrific experience, which is how I had built it up to be in my mind. The brain, in these situations autopilots us to escape the danger.
Vicky suggested we needed to re-wind that experience as, even reliving it in my mind, I again became anxious. She also advised that the brain cannot know the difference between truth and imagination. Therefore every time I went over it in my head, my brain thought it was real. We spent a session re-winding the experience and afterwards, especially the next day, it was better. I felt like I'd really got over it.
The night before my re-test, Vicky had a session with me which she called a Reframe. We spent a long time going over a very detailed description of how the next day would go and how positive it was going to be. She then hypnotised me and recalled this day to me.
I can happily say I passed the test and on the day I was able to control my nerves and felt so positive that I just needed to engage the intellectual part of my brain to see the test through.
I can honestly say I dont see how I would have controlled the nerves or myself if I hadnt of had those valuable sessions with Vicky.
The brain, and how Vicky describes it too, is such a powerful and magnificent tool.
I'd recommend giving hypnotherapy a chance to anyone. Vicky in particular as a person has a soothing voice and genuinely cares about helping people.
